Riverside Farm did an amazing job hosting the Killington Mountain School Jr/Sr prom. The venue is absolutely stunning! Both inside and the views outside are gorgeous making it a spectacular photo site for memories to cherish for a lifetime. A very special place indeed! read more

I attended a family wedding here last month. It rained the entire weekend, which could have ruined the festivities but the staff at Riverside Farm made all of the events there very special. There are two main event spaces on the farm. On Friday night there was a cocktail party. We parked in a lot then were shuttled by golf cart to the red barn. As we pulled up, staff said "there are cocktails and small bites inside and s'mores stations set up to your left." My kind of party! It was drizzling so we headed inside. We'd just had dinner at American Flatbread so I didn't sample the food. Rather, we found drinks and went to sit down. Right next to an ice cream bar. Make your own sundaes? What a great idea! After a bit, one of the servers manning the ice cream bar cut up some ice cream sandwiches and brought them around like passed hors d'oeuvres. I loved this and made such a mess. Delicious. Oh and cocktails were strong and yummy. Saturday, it rained again. We arrived to the ceremony in the red barn. We came in from a different entrance than the night before. So many stairs. the ceremony was in the same space as the cocktail party but was so different in feeling. The ceremony was lovely then it was off to an outdoor cocktail hour under a tent. Catering was done by Vermont Farms Catering. Again, great drinks and yummy food! Standouts were the mini buttery lobster rolls and the arancini. After the cocktail party we were off to the main event in the Stonewall barn. There were beautiful tables set in long family style rows. I'll skip the comments on the speeches (hysterical) and decor (gorgeous) and head to a review of the food. Everything was served family style on platters. Dinner was: Roasted heirloom beet salad with goat cheese, candied walnuts, and a champagne vinaigrette Flank steak with horseradish chimichurri Roasted chicken with herb jus Grilled shrimp with wine, lemon and garlic Creamy polenta with leeks and asparagus Grilled broccolini with lemon, garlic and parmesan Crispy potatoes with paprika aioli For dessert: Vanilla bean wedding cake with lemon curd and strawberries Mini cannoli Maple bourbon cheesecake bites Cinnamon maple donuts Dark chocolate brownies Chocolate chip cookies with milk shots Mini strawberry rhubarb pies All of the food was beautiful visually and truly delicious. the broccolini and strawberry rhubarb pies being standouts. The final event was brunch on Sunday back in the red barn. I don't have a menu breakdown but imagine all the standard brunch fare. The perfect going away event for a lovely family event. Of course as we were leaving the sun was out. That was until the tornado warnings went into effect for the very long ride home. My only critique of the weekend was that the red barn is not ADA compliant at all. For one entrance there is a long steep staircase. On the other side where the fire pit is, there are slippery rocks used as steps and no handrails. For someone who walks with a cane, navigating these entrances was challenging. Also, it was raining for most of the time we were there. This made the shiny wooden floors very slippery. I had to get myself to a table to sit down and not move because I was scared that I would slip. the staff was wonderful about providing golf carts to get to and from the parking lot and the barns. Shout out to Sam, who was just lovely. read more

As a wedding photographer, I work at a LOT of venues. I photographed my first wedding at Riverside Farm in 2009, and have been back almost every year or so since. The staff there is always warm and welcoming, the events run with great precision, and I've always been a fan of how kind, helpful, and above-and-beyond every person there is. I hope to photograph many more Riverside weddings, and know that anyone who chooses to get married there will have their expectations not only met, but exceeded! read more

Pros: Amazing site - beautiful and picturesque. They are very organized and make planning a wedding relatively easy. The florist they typically recommend is absolutely spectacular. Cons: It is not feasible to hold a wedding there for under 40K (trust us, we tried). We felt that the budget we were given ahead of time was not even remotely accurate. It seemed like a lot of prices changed or random things were added or altered from our original estimate. To sit "comfortably" at an event here, you are realistically looking at spending close to $50K. If we had been given a realistic estimate up front, we would have hosted our wedding at a different venue. They also double booked weddings on our weekend so half of the rooms at their neighboring farm were not available and their typically lodging down the road (which was one of the main selling points) was completely blocked off as well. read more
This place is just fantastic. I went to a pre-wedding dinner here recently, and was really impressed by the whole experience. The grounds are absolutely gorgeous - rolling hills, woods in the background, couple of barns and other structures including a gazebo. The structure where we had our event - much to nice to call a barn - was fabulous. Really high beamed ceilings, random planked wood floor with tons of large windows that let you drink in the beautiful views. One end of the place was furnished with some comfy chairs and sofas and tables for lounging and talking. There also a big setup for serving beverages and food. The counters were sandstone (I think) and reclaimed wooded furniture that had been re-purposed. We all sat at large round tables that were simply set up with votives and white table cloths. There were also candle lit lanterns and other votives scattered around the room which gave it a festive and romantic air. The sound system was superb and the selection of music was eclectic and enjoyable. If you're thinking of a New England wedding or event, I highly recommend Riverside Farm. I do a ton of event planning, and it takes a lot of impress me. This place absolutely WOWED me. read more

Had a sub optimal experience with the accommodations. Pros - Amazing location. Cons - No locks on doors, and no wifis. Twin bunk beds with no windows and shared bathrooms. No turnover service. Spare no expense. read more

The pros: Gorgeous setting. Really top notch. And they've done an amazing job bouncing back from Hurricane Irene and all the flooding. The cons: Not entirely forthright about pricing. For a place that bills itself as a wedding venue, surely the estimate and the bill you get once you've put down your deposit based on that estimate should be close--maybe 10% wiggle room? It's not like they haven't done this before and are just making up the numbers as they go along. Guest accommodations in the Stables are fun, but once one person is up, the whole group is up, and if anyone wants to stay up and party, everyone stays up. The sound travels. If you're a light sleeper, bring earplugs and a white noise machine. The lighting inside is terrible for hair, makeup, and shaving, and there's one bathroom per gender. Getting everyone ready for an event that starts at a specific time is a challenge. read more

We visited for a wedding. The accomodations on the property are not great. I would not have guests stay n The Stables and the other hotels are nothing to be desired. I gave them my credit card a month before we checked in. They are just notifying me 4 months later to say they didn't charge my card and need my cc info again since the exp date changed. What hotel waits four months to charge you? I went for a wedding but would not recommend to anyone. read more
