Cute and well run. Stayed for a few nights on a recent trip to Killington. It's a renovated space with decent amenities and friendly staff. Rooms are a little small but they are clean and well furnished. My only (admittedly minor) real complaint was the lack of hooks in the bathroom. Kind of a pet peeve of mine but instantly noticeable, especially with the lack of counter space. They have a large dining area with a full bar and a comfortable lounge, a card room, pool table and foosball, as well as a sauna. The breakfast is great, but they only have a limited menu for dinner. They do however allow you to order delivery from other places to eat in the dining room. Coffee is abundantly available, in the dining room or at coffee and water kiosks, offering Keurig and tea service. Their mascot is a gentle dog named Daisy that positions herself strategically in the hallways for maximum head scratches and belly rubs.

We live about an hour away and decided we needed out of the house and what a GEM to find. So new and clean, like spotless clean. From the minute we stepped in and were given a tour by the housekeeper, to the hours in front of their fire and tiny bar, everything was A+. The breakfast itself was easily worth $15 per person (custom and made to order plates!), the drinks were totally reasonable and the lounge area was simply stunning. Architecturally the lodge was such a treat too, a former barn with the top floors made into rooms. We had the starlight room, where as the name suggests, star watch from the comfort of your bed. The innkeeper Nancy and her dog Daisy were the highlight of our trip though, we booked another day on just because the level of warmth and hospitality they provided. We look forward to returning for years to come !

What a beautiful place to stay. So close to the mountain. The cutest most friendliest dog named Daisy and the friendliest staff. My GF and I stayed at the red barn. Our room looked brand new with a beautiful rustic appeal to it. It had ski lights and I'm pretty sure the bathroom floors were heated, which was amazing. Delicious breakfast every morning. Everything was super clean. They really made us feel at home.

    Beautiful barn house

Unbelievably wonderful experience! Everything is brand new and super clean. The staff is exceptional and offers everything from snow shoes to s'mores kits. Daisy (the hotel dog) is the sweetest addition to the staff as well. Sits on a wonderful lake and small farm with a few animals to visit. Centrally located right by Killington Resort, 5 minute drive to the slopes! This will be our go to place when visiting Killington VT. A special thank you to Nancy - we will forever be a tenet in room 15!

The ambiance was very memorable -- from the adorable covered bridge you drive through, to the architecture of the inn, to the sweet greeting from innkeeper Bill. We felt like we were visiting someone's home, and we could definitely sense Bill's passion for the place. We visited around Christmastime during Covid-19, so Killington wasn't as busy as I'm sure it usually is. We had the choice of eating in the dining room or in their lounge in front of the HUGE and beautifully decorated tree. Christmas music was softly playing, and the romantic cabin aesthetic really made me feel like I was living in a real life Hallmark movie. The food was good, not SUPER memorable, but very yummy. We had the brie (my favorite), ravioli and NY strip steak. Overall, the experience was fantastic for our anniversary. Try it out!

The building…read moreitself was fairly new (Steve, the friendly owner, said it was built in 1980), and it had modern amenities including air conditioning that worked very well on the hot summer weekend when we stayed there, but it had the welcoming atmosphere of a rustic country inn, including quaint touches like a cozy nook for relaxing or playing chess, vintage farm implements decorating the walls of the dining area, and the pleasant smell of potpourri in the entryway. Breakfast was included, which had beverages as well as bagels, English muffins, various pastries, granola bars, yogurt, cheese, fruit, and probably other items I'm forgetting. It did not have hot foods such as eggs or breakfast meats, but it was more than enough to be satisfying. The dining area is apparently maintained 24/7 because the beverages and non-perishable foods were also available in the evening after we checked in, so it was refreshing to have hot coffee and a pastry after a long drive. The inn had a swimming pool, whose depth was marked as up to 10 feet, but what was more striking was that the pool and chairs were in a beautifully landscaped area with flowers and a pergola, so it felt more like a country garden than a typical hotel pool. The room was comfortable, the bed and bedding were fine, and it was quiet enough that I heard no noise during the night. My room also had a couch, so it felt a bit like a suite, though I don't know if all rooms have that. By comparing notes with someone in another room, I could extrapolate that each room had a small stuffed bear, which was a thoughtful touch. The room also had a very small balcony with chairs and a table, though I didn't use it because of the hot weather. Overall, I would fully recommend the Greenbrier Inn to anyone staying in the Killington area, especially because it had a comfortable, personal feel rather than that of a chain hotel. It's presumably popular for skiers in winter, but in the summer it was conveniently located for visiting Quechee Gorge; the Vermont Institute of Natural Science (VINS), a nature center in Quechee, VT; and the Saturday night rodeo at Pond Hill Ranch in Castleton, VT.
