The Setting was nice, but the owners were not. The grounds were beautiful and peaceful.

The ambiance was very memorable -- from the adorable covered bridge you drive through, to the architecture of the inn, to the sweet greeting from innkeeper Bill. We felt like we were visiting someone's home, and we could definitely sense Bill's passion for the place. We visited around Christmastime during Covid-19, so Killington wasn't as busy as I'm sure it usually is. We had the choice of eating in the dining room or in their lounge in front of the HUGE and beautifully decorated tree. Christmas music was softly playing, and the romantic cabin aesthetic really made me feel like I was living in a real life Hallmark movie. The food was good, not SUPER memorable, but very yummy. We had the brie (my favorite), ravioli and NY strip steak. Overall, the experience was fantastic for our anniversary. Try it out!

And at night there is so little light pollution you can see all the stars. Very pretty! The room we stayed in (Forest Glen) is cozy and pretty basic, but it did its job well. The bed was comfortable, and the fan and air conditioning were easy to control so we could sleep comfortably. The shower works very well with good pressure and heat. There is a small TV if you feel like watching anything, but definitely enjoy the area instead! The Vermont Inn has a bar inside that closes at 9pm. We didn't try it, but it looked so nice and cozy. If you purchase directly through the website, then breakfast is included each morning. Every day they offer pancakes, french toast, or eggs and bacon, and then there is a daily special omelette. We tried omelettes, french toast, and pancakes, and all were quite good. And the coffee is surprisingly tasty. It appears to be a family operation with the kids taking orders. They are cute and do a great job! Definitely a great place to stay if you're in the Killington area!

There are many cozy public rooms to sit, play board games, read or just talk. The hosts Mike and Kayla were very friendly and accomodating. The location is perfect as it is minutes away from Killington and Pico mountains. The views from the lawn of the mountains are stunning. Rooms were excellent and there was plenty of space. There is a Sauna and pool outside during the summer months. We met a couple that were staying there and planning their wedding with the hosts and it sounded like it was going to be fantastic. They also host bridal showers and other events. The breakfasts were fantastic and our waiters Emerson and Jameson provided excellent service. Thanks to Mike, Kayla and family for great memories. I would highly recommend The Vermont Inn and we will definitely be back.

This was a charming and comfortable inn, built and decorated like a classic lodge. The building…read moreitself was fairly new (Steve, the friendly owner, said it was built in 1980), and it had modern amenities including air conditioning that worked very well on the hot summer weekend when we stayed there, but it had the welcoming atmosphere of a rustic country inn, including quaint touches like a cozy nook for relaxing or playing chess, vintage farm implements decorating the walls of the dining area, and the pleasant smell of potpourri in the entryway. Breakfast was included, which had beverages as well as bagels, English muffins, various pastries, granola bars, yogurt, cheese, fruit, and probably other items I'm forgetting. It did not have hot foods such as eggs or breakfast meats, but it was more than enough to be satisfying. The dining area is apparently maintained 24/7 because the beverages and non-perishable foods were also available in the evening after we checked in, so it was refreshing to have hot coffee and a pastry after a long drive. The inn had a swimming pool, whose depth was marked as up to 10 feet, but what was more striking was that the pool and chairs were in a beautifully landscaped area with flowers and a pergola, so it felt more like a country garden than a typical hotel pool. The room was comfortable, the bed and bedding were fine, and it was quiet enough that I heard no noise during the night. My room also had a couch, so it felt a bit like a suite, though I don't know if all rooms have that. By comparing notes with someone in another room, I could extrapolate that each room had a small stuffed bear, which was a thoughtful touch. The room also had a very small balcony with chairs and a table, though I didn't use it because of the hot weather. Overall, I would fully recommend the Greenbrier Inn to anyone staying in the Killington area, especially because it had a comfortable, personal feel rather than that of a chain hotel. It's presumably popular for skiers in winter, but in the summer it was conveniently located for visiting Quechee Gorge; the Vermont Institute of Natural Science (VINS), a nature center in Quechee, VT; and the Saturday night rodeo at Pond Hill Ranch in Castleton, VT.

All the hotels in the area were $250+ a night, but I saw this one for around $120 a night. Booked up the reservations and honestly I had low expectations for such a low price on a really busy weekend of the year. I was pleasantly surprised. The room was very clean and had a nice big dresser with a tv and a window A/C. We were on the ground floor right next to the parking lot, so unloading our car was a breeze. One thing we did have to do was go outside and put a towel on top of the A/C unit because the ones from floors above were dripping water and making an incessant noise. Not a big deal was an easy solution just thought I'd mention it. I love the little rubber duck they left on the bathroom sink to say hi. The bed was pretty comfy and warm and the doors had passcodes that you set yourself instead of key cards. Great because I always lose them LOL. The restaurant that is part of the hotel was also really great. We did have one dish that we did not like and they took it back and brought us something else free of charge. The rest of the food was fantastic and the staff was extremely nice. On the weekends, they have movie nights outside and set up cornhole games. Seems like a popular local hangout because every spot in the lot was taken. The place is situated on a sleepy state road with only the occasional passing car at nighttime. There are no bright street lamps or big trucks to wake you up. I slept good. On another note, everyone was nice to my service dog and brought her water. There is lots of grass areas to take your dog to the bathroom. They have bins right outside your door which is perfect for discarding the doggy bags. The only negative thing is that I think there may have been a little crack under the door or maybe by the AC that needed to be patched because every night we had bugs flying around into our room. I'm not squeamish and I live in the woods so it didn't really bother me too much. I did have a huge crane fly come in somehow and that one scared me a little bit lol (I did finally get him out though). The next day a firefly got in and I saw him flying around the room with his abdomen aglow. I escorted the little fellow back outside. Overall it's a really nice, laid back place with good food, friendly staff, reasonable prices, and clean amenities.
