This is the absolute worst business I've ever dealt with. Their first quote was off by $8000. I had to go back-and-forth between insurance companies and this business and it was ridiculous. They told me a date that it would be done. And it was nowhere near that date. And when I called, they were rude as hell every time. They said they tested it, which was a lie because as soon as I got it on the water the steering cable was broke so I drove it back an hour for them. To tell me it was gonna cost 600 more dollars. I will never buy another boat from Riverside Marine. The worst customer service I have ever dealt with. My brand new Bennington boat has been at their facility for approx. 5 months. They will not return my calls. I advise anyone who is buying a Bennington to look elsewhere! They feed you a ton of Lies!!!! I am calling Bennington Themselves in IN, they are even worse. You can't get anyone to answer the phone. Imagine spending over $120,000.00 on a boat and its sitting at their facility for 5 months. We are not talking real damage, mostly cosmetic. read more

He didn't only fix my boat motor he took A LOT of his personal time to explain to how to put it back together which he didn't have to do. He broke it down step by step straight Barney style for me. Every other single employee there greets you with a smile and sincere greeting. Another employee walked me out to show me and explain boat related information that had nothing to do with them. I purchased a boat 2 years ago and it has been a nightmare from the get go. From the power steering not working and we had to come back, then the blowout two exits away when we left. You would think they would have brought us a spare or helped, NO! We were left on the side of the highway with our new boat and the expenses of getting it repaired. That was the beginning, now I've tried to renew my boat and trailer 2 years in a row and the paperwork was still in the previous owners name and transferred back to the Dealer. Lisa (the owners wife) hung up on me and could care less. She actually told me to bring the boat and the paperwork to her so she can figure it out. Why do I need to drive 2 hours with MY boat for you to fix your clerical issues. DO NOT DO BUSINESS HERE. If you do you better make sure its in your name and not transfer back to Riverside after you leave because they don't care after the sale. read more

Fast, professional and capable. I took an IMARS (Improved Marine Amphibious Reconnaissance System) military outboard there to get serviced. The parts are not commercially accessible. A service member by the name of Ray improvised and took similar parts from another outboard and made them work for mine. Very clean and organized. They handle a high volume of work and get the job done on time. Repeat customer. read more

HORRIBLE is an understatement. Chris (owner) is extremely is rude. I took the boat for a fuel leak and they replaced the fuel hose leaving fuel around the motor. They started the engine and burned the wire harness and other electrical componets. Would not recommend this place to my worse enemy. My hydraulic tilt/trim was leaking hydraulic fluid so I ordered a seal kit. Seems like a pretty easy job. Only difficulty I ran into was breaking loose the cover to the hydraulic piston. I removed it from the boat and called riverside marine to see if they could break it loose (it just requires the proper tool which they said they had). The total job should take about 1 minute with the correct tool. They said they could do it and bring it down. Upon arriving they said they couldn't do it right then and I should leave it with them. I showed them that it had 0 corrosion and was in like new condition. I asked how much they would charge me and the mechanic stated 30 to 60 minutes @ $100 per hour. This should not take more then a minute or two. $50 to $100 to do this I absolutely ridiculous and they should be embarrassed for trying to charge a customer that amount. I asked for the tilt/trim back and stated that I would take it to a hydraulic shop instead and that is just what I did. I took it to Pasco Hydraulics located at 5922 land o lakes blvd. (813-996-3127) and they were awesome. They stopped what they were doing and took a look at it. They said no problem it should only take a minute (exactly what I thought). After removing the cap they asked if I had the seals with me, which I did, and they offered to replace them right there for a grand total of $20. That's $20 to remove the cap (which riverside marine quoted my $50 to $100 to do) plus replacing the piston gaskets and putting it all back together for $20. It took them about 10 to 15 minutes and I was ready to go. I could not recommend Pasco Hydraulics enough they are awesome. You might want to think twice before being relieved of alot of your $ from Riverside Marine if there are any other options. read more

These people are crooks, I gave them my outboard engine to fix an electric problem ( battery wasn't charging) and they broke the motor. I tested the boat the day before and it was getting full speed (32 miles with my GPS) I put it on the trailer and went home... Flushed the engine with a friend and it was running fine. My Motor was tested for compression by Riverside 4 weeks earlier and had 150 on all cylinders. Next day I purchased new spark plugs, I installed them and brought the boat to Riverside Marina. Two days later their mechanic called me to tell me that one cylinder had 0 compression. I went there to discuss the matter and the owner Andrew literally (verbally) attacked me, saying there was metal on the sparks plugs. The spark plugs were brand new!!! (Receipt#3185 Advanced Auto Parts 7/25/2011). Bottom line I gave them a perfect running engine, they destroyed it and now refuse to take responsibility for it. I tried to look in the cylinder with a scope and there seem to be is a hole in the middle of the piston, it seems the mechanic used the wrong compression test (too long). I believe Andrew knew it, because he was way too aggressive even before we discussed the matter and he lied about the metal on the spark plugs... Now my motor is useless and they refuse to pay for it... read more
