Before this, the only thing I had ever done to my brows was waxing, so getting a lamination and tint was totally new territory for me. I was honestly nervous, but Naomi made me feel so comfortable and confident the entire time. She took my sparse, difficult-to-manage brows and somehow turned them into full, soft, easy-to-style brows that actually fit my face and look natural. And the color match?! She matched my brows to my hair almost perfectly -- I genuinely don't know how she did it so flawlessly. I'm heading to the Dominican Republic in a few weeks for a girls trip, and having beautiful, low-maintenance brows going on my vacation honestly makes me even more excited. Knowing I can wake up with brows that already look this good is such a confidence boost! What impressed me most is that you can tell Naomi truly LOVES what she does and is incredibly good at it. There are people who just "do" their job, and then there are people like Naomi who absolutely ROCK at it. Her attention to detail and talent are unreal. I know this because a staff member texted me the following shortly after I entered the establishment (presumably she meant to send this to another staff member). This ruined my entire experience, and I am regretful that I spent my money at this establishment given the unprofessional staff working there. I've gotten two facials (Microdermabrasion, extractions and a O2 facial) from Harley in the last few months and she's amazing! She's very attentive to the issues I have with my skin and was extremely gentle and accommodating to my requests; specifically I really like steam with my blackhead extractions. My skin always looks and feels great after! My only downside is I'm not a big fan of when salons push their products; I totally get that's how they make a lot of their money but it starts to feel like an ad sometimes. Highlight and cut. I paid for my granddaughter to get her hair cut and highlighted. My daughter made the appointment. She was asked at least 3 times how much she was willing to pay. Just so happens that's exactly how much they charged my granddaughter who is 17. Interesting isn't it? Not very professional, and will never go there or recommend them to anyone else again. This was hands down the worst massage I've ever had. The massage therapist seemed to have no clue what he was doing--zero technique, no pressure, just aimless poking and prodding. It was like that scene from "Friends" where Phoebe has Ross massage her client. What should have been a relaxing experience turned out to be the exact opposite. Over the years I have visited Riversong Spa & Salon. Usually with a gift card and I've enjoyed my service. Recently, my sister referred me to Anna, a Massage therapist at Riversong. Anna has changed my life. Anna really hears what I tell her and she customizes each massage to my specific needs. (Unlike unintuitive massages you get from the mall). She has strong hands and attack knots with great determination. Her knowledge and expertise of bodies and how to get to the root of the pain and discomfort are astonishing. I have released so much tension in my hips and lower back. I used to have a discomfort in my left armpit now it is remarkably improved. Even my mood has improved. We had a couples massage scheduled for one month.they CANCELED WITH NO NOTICE! One week prior they left a voice message that they needed to switch my massage therapist. For only one of us. I did not call them back I assumed they would do what they needed to do to fill the requested services for my appt. I had responded to the text messages confirmation, that we would be there. Day of massage we arrive 1pm and the lady said they have canceled our appt because they had 3 workers call in on this day. I inquired why she did not call to inform us that she canceled our massage. They had been open for business for 5 hours at this point. She said that because I did not call back a week ago that she did not want to bombard me by calling me the day of our massage and inform us of X2 canceled hour massages. I asked if she called others clients to inform them of short staff cancelations. Jessica told me she did call other clients. I asked why she did not call me, she could not answer. the VM was listened to, it did not say if I do not call back my appt and my husband's appt would be canceled. Heard about this place through the local radio and went here for a blow-out and style. This place looks like it is trapped in the 80's with its wall colors and wall paper but if you can look pass that, they do offer high-end haircare, skin care, and nail products such as OPI and Aquage. Service: I haven't tried their spa or nail services but for their blow-out and style, it was pretty good. The lady really took her time with me and I think going earlier in the mornings are the BEST time to get individual attention. The price is comparable to other salons in the area. Atmosphere: Other than the 80's almost Dallas-like looking salon and spa, it is inviting and the staff are pretty nice. I got my hair cut here because I had a gift card. Big mistake. The girl burned my scalp with the hot water and gave me a horrible cut (even though I just asked her to take off some length and clean up my layers). When I asked her to blow dry my naturally curly hair straight, she used her FINGERS instead of a brush. I walked out with a sub-par cut looking like a drowned rat. I cant speak for the other services, but the hair cut service here sucks. read more

I have come to Riversong for almost 20 years. This is one business I can always count on. The staff is cheery, professional and helpful. The beauty technicians are absolutely one of the best I have ever been to. I originally went Riversong in Jeff City for a mothers day gift of a spa day. First time i had ever had a massage and it was fabulous. I was hooked when they opened in Columbia my husband bought me a gift certificate for Christmas. I met Barb then she was just starting with them. My hair was a mess as my other beautician at a different salon had quit. I looked high and low for a new one. What a task. When I met Barb I was apprehensive because of others but she was phenomenal. I booked my next appt with her and have been with her every since. She is AMAZING. And when new beauticians start out, I watch as she coaches them, answering any question they have, always helping, explaining and never rude or impatient. I am so blessed to have found her. Now my SIL, my daughter, grandsons and others are now her clients. I am so thankful I found her. You can't miss with Riversong. read more

I don't have any reason to doubt the negative reviews, but 2.5 stars overall is too low for Riversong. I come here once a year with my mom as part of a "girls day" and have always had a positive experience. Today I saw Megan for a 55-minute Swedish massage and she was great! I'd book her again if I were local. Also, I have to disagree with the comment on the decor looking very 1980s. Either Riversong has redecorated since that comment or the person who used that description didn't live through the 80s! I think the lobby is unremarkable -- not dated, but not anything you would be blown away by. It's just very neutral: lots of browns and grays, which is what you would expect from a place where they want you to relax! In short -- can't speak to the hair or nail services, but the massages are always good. :) read more

My boyfriend and i went there a couple months ago (May) we had a couples massage and an eyebrow waxing. The massage was perfect, the girls we had were so sweet and knew just how to do the job right! The girl who did the eyebrows was very careful, almost too careful with her placement of waxing and after she was done it looked like she didn't touch the hair. She said she was going to get someone to help her and then came back and told me that they were giving me 20% off my services. I didn't want purple hair. Do not go here. Love this Spa and Salon, I walked in and the girl knew me by name but she did look alittle unproffesional but she was very friendly and knowledgeable. Teresa did my swedish massage and she was amazing, I have had several massages at the Jefferson City location and this was by far the best. Teresa was very knowledgable on her techniques and gave me lots of suggestions on how to avoid further strain. I then had a pedicure by Holly who was super nice also, she did an awesome job and could tell I was there to relax so didn't make too much idol chit chat. Love the OPI color selection! After reading reviews on here, I can honestly say I was really nervous to continue with my appointment. However, I had a Gift Card and I went in for a pedicure. Yes, the decor is tacky. Get over it. More importantly, my pedicure was great! Nice set up, comfy cushions and plenty of magazines, my pedicurist didn't bug me and constantly talk like some do, and she did a great job.
