I would strongly caution anyone considering Piedmont Urgent Care. I visited for a simple case of…read moresinus congestion and a sore throat -- nothing more -- and walked away with an almost $400 bill coded as "moderate complexity." This is not only unreasonable, it is inaccurate. My husband, a physician who works daily with coding and billing, confirmed this should have been billed at a low-complexity level. I have spent over a month going back and forth with Piedmont Urgent Care trying to get answers. I was repeatedly told my case would be escalated to their Tier 2 team and compliance department, but no one ever contacted me despite assurances. In the end, their only "resolution" was offering a 15% discount on a bill that should never have been coded this way in the first place. Patients deserve honesty and accountability -- not inflated charges and empty promises. I urge anyone visiting to always request an itemized bill and verify the coding, because you may be paying far more than you should. If you choose to visit, I strongly recommend asking in advance about how your visit will be coded and billed. Based on my experience, I would avoid being seen by any provider by the name of C.
