While fueling up the car prior to continuing my drive west, I spied a car wash. Having traveled…read moreover 1000 miles and not washed the road grime and bugs off the car, I decided to give the car a bath. After feeding in $3 to get the process started, I discovered that there was absolutely no pressure to be had. I tried every setting available but there was no pressure. I switched the timer mechanism to off and the wash timer kept running. Resigned to being ripped off, I pulled out of the bay and started to drive off, when I noticed a couple of "emergency numbers" to call. I left a voice message relating how I had been ripped off and how I could urinate a better stream and was resigned to leave it at that. One of the owners returned my call and took great umbrage at my complaint. He informed that "I had to understand" that machinery can fail and malfunction and that over $1,000,000 had been spent in building his car wash. I did not accept his excuses and told him what I thought of him and his car wash and perhaps he should have purchased higher quality equipment so it would be more dependable. The owner blew up and got abusive, so I hung up on him and continued on my westward journey without a thought. The owner called back numerous times. I answered and then, once again, hung up on his vulgarity and told him I would pray for him. After not answering, he started texting me, I finally had to block the owner's number. All the owner needed to do was apologize for the failure of his equipment. But typical with businesses and their owners today, they are never wrong and can take no criticism. As they say, "Pride goeth before a fall". Had I owned this business, I would have apologized and sent the aggrieved a three dollar check or not returned the phone message. Happy trails......
