Have never been to such a complete therapy program that incorporates not only exercise but also more than enough time with manual manipulation with each and every patient. It is a fun atmosphere where you can see the therapists and staff enjoy what they do, they get along great and they really listen to the patient. I have been to atleast 12 Different places in my life and this is by far the Mercedes of all of them. After only a few months, my shoulder had felt better than it had in years and now I have my range of motion back, my strength, and I'm pain free. I needed physical therapy two years ago for hip and lower back pain. The owners/physical therapists are dedicated professionals with a personal touch. They care. Riverwalk provides excellent physical therapy. I have been to two other PT organizations and none provided the type of therapy that I receive at Riverwalk. When I first walked into Riverwalk Physical Therapy I was exhausted from waking up with hip pain every night. Phil, the physical therapist, was encouraging and willing to take the necessary time to assess exactly what were the sources of my pain and implemented various treatments. In subsequent visits, John also did assessment, soft tissue work, prescribed exercises and gave practical instructions on how to manage driving and standing at work. These have been life changing! I couldn't believe that I was feeling so better after my first visit, and the following sessions have helped to where I'm able to sleep through the night without Motrin! The don't rush through sessions or juggle several patients at once, like I've experienced elsewhere. The assistants are also very knowledgeable and kind. I can not begin to describe the greatness of Riverwalk Physical Therapy. My daughter and I first went there when she sprained her ankle and I had knee surgery, around 5 years ago. The treatment we received was top notch! So when she tore her ACL 6 months ago, there was no question as to where she would go for her PT. Anyone who had this injury and surgery knows how difficult the recovery is, especially when you are a 14 year old athlete. The therapists were all wonderful with her! They were very hands on and addressed her recovery appropriately, advancing her as necessary and revisiting areas that she was finding difficult. Besides addressing her physical need, however, they were wonderful with dealing with all of her emotional and psychological issues that come with being young and injured. She always looked forward to going to PT and worked like an animal while she was there. All of the therapists are excellent! And the staff is also very sweet, accommodating and supportive. Phil and John are 2 very caring physical therapists who won't rest until they get to the root of the problem. I started going to Riverwalk PT last November with foot pain and now I'm 95% pain free. Dr. Mary Norey is a highly trained professional. She has helped me immensely with my painful pelvic floor issues which I have suffered with for months. Mary is extremely knowledgeable and educated me along in the path to my healing. Pain is very complex. Her kindness and empathy made all the difference! Not only did she help me with the physical pain, she also helped with the psychological aspect of the pain. She was very encouraging and always positive. She made me believe that I would heal. There were days that I thought I would never return to "normal". However, I would get progressively better after each week. Also, It is obvious that the needs and comfort of the patient are very important to her. I had a very unfavorable experience at another facility, and I was a little reluctant to continue with the physical therapy. I am so happy that Riverwalk was recommended to me. I am a patient at Riverwalk Physical Therapy in Basking Ridge and cannot say enough wonderful things about the facility and Dr. Mary Norey, a pelvic floor specialist. Everyone is friendly and accommodating and the place is spotless. But most importantly, Dr. Norey has changed my life. After 8 years of suffering with pelvic pain, I finally found a urogynocologist, Dr. Michael Ingber of Denville, (he only treats women), who recommended me to Dr. Norey. She is the most compassionate, understanding and kind physician I have ever been to. She has an excellent background in treating patients like myself and has many techniques and exercises which have improved my quality of life tremendously. For myself, the healing process is slow, but empowering thanks to the encouragement and optimism of Dr. Norey. Riverwalk also has an acupuncturist on staff who specializes in women's issues and I have found the combination of physical therapy and acupuncture to be incredibly helpful.
