My experience with Brooks Rehabilitation was extremely frustrating and poorly managed…read more It took three weeks just to get an initial evaluation scheduled once I was given the ok from my surgeon following surgery. I was told they offered late appointments (4-6 PM), which is the only reason I agreed to move forward. That turned out to be false--the latest appointment they offer is 4 PM. I adjusted my schedule anyway and booked eight sessions 2 weeks after the initial appointment . I then get a call, one week before my appointment saying they made a mistake and scheduled me with a therapist who only handles Workers' Comp cases. Now all of my appointments have to be redone. Their solution? Daytime appointments that don't work for anyone with a normal job. Between the long wait, misinformation, and careless scheduling errors, this place clearly does not have their operations together. I will not be using Brooks Rehabilitation services.

This home claims the nurse left but there is no accountability or responsibility being held for her un-disputable actions. This could be any of our loved ones on any day and completely unacceptable!! I actually had a great experience here when my dad was in rehab. He's stayed here twice for several…read moreweeks and overall, he had great care. The nurses and his entire medical team were very attentive during his stay. Also, whenever we made requests to any of the nurses on staff for my father whether it was for a new gown, changing his linen, wound care, physical therapy or just speaking with his doctor about my dad's progress, they were available and did their job efficiently and effectively. He was able to have his own private room during both short-term stints in rehab here at the Isle and he received excellent round-the-clock care. The food was pretty good, too. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.

If you are elderly or going there after an operation I do not recommend this place! I had a big…read moresurgery and was taken there and was pretty much bedridden and not able to move at all. I had to wait four days to get any pain medications and I was in agony! The aids put me in diapers and pretty much left me like that up to twelve hours even though I called for them to change me. Some of them were very rude. They checked my wound once after I came there. I told them it was bothering me and something was wrong but they kept saying it was fine, it's normal. It was behind my neck and back so I couldn't see it but I could feel it. I knew something was wrong! After three weeks of complaining they finally looked at it and sure enough it was infected!!! My surgeon sent an ambulance for me and ten minutes later I was in it and on my way to the emergency room!! Neglect neglect neglect!! I saw them mistreat elderly people, I saw a poor woman who supposedly "fell " out of bed because she looked like someone had beat the crap out of her face! There are NO safety railings at this place, which is mainly a nursing home but also does rehab. So think very carefully before going there because if it's just rehab from like a knee replacement or something like that, the physical therapists are great, but don't expect to get your pain meds on time. They don't care if it goes past the time you are supposed to take them, nooo. It's when they get around to it. Make sure you kiss up to them if you want your meds or go sit in the hall so you can bug them. That is, if they are even around. I saw one med nurse completely leave the building. Where she went I Have no idea, but on the weekends they all were bad with the exception of one or two. There was one cna I loved but she only worked one or two nights a week. She was so nice Otherwise, I really do not recommend sending an elderly loved one there if you care about them. A lot of improvement needs to be done.

The program took about two months and I improved so much I was released on Friday June 8. I can't say enough for the staff and therapist at this facility. All were very professional, friendly and certainly knowledgeable . The Therapist Ashley, PT DPT was extremely patience and worked with me throughout the sessions in a VERY professional manner. I believe this type of work requires special employees which I found at the Center. I might add I have had Therapy throughout Brooks and haven't had a bad experience yet. VERY CARING. Baptist Rehab has moved! They moved into Building "B" behind…read moreBaptist Fernandina Beach Hospital. An excellent therapy staff and lots of equipment. They are still getting up to speed since the move so there is virtually no waiting and I got the whole staff all to myself. They are not trying to sell anything nor push for extra visits. I got fixed in one visit (yea, a record!) had the full attention of the doctor who stretched me and pushed and pulled, showed me how one leg being longer than the other was twisting my pelvis, got me back in alignment and showed me a couple of quick exercises to keep from pinching my sciatic nerve. Cool! All they wanted to do was to make sure I got better. Covered under any insurance that Baptist accepts.
