    Disgusting not clean room
    Marsha V.

Ok.....so we were told our room was ready. Out of fairness husband didn't show me until a day later because he knew I would leave....and this stay was non refundable. This is our ready room..... where we offered a different room, a discount for the lack of doing a cleaning job? NO. Just a.....I'm sorry we will clean it. This was a special getaway for us. Not ok by any means. And after they cleaned the wall and cabinet....do you think they would make up the bed? Clean towels? Nope! Nice establishment

I was worried booking this hotel as I read the negative reviews after booking it however, I can say this is the cutest hotel ever! The staff are beyond friendly, I felt safe having my dogs there, and the location is perfect!! Walking distance to the beach and to the funk zone. The rooms are very small but we got the patio garden which gave us some extra space. The connected restaurant is also sooo good. I would definitely come back here.

The cutest hotel ever!! Natalie behind the front desk was beyond sweet! The manager helped my boyfriend put together a birthday surprise.. we came home from dinner to balloons, treats, and wine! We will be back!

Wonderful hotel! June, the General Manager, could not have been kinder upon arrival. The hotel is fresh and vibrant. The room I stayed was perfectly appointed, uber clean, and comfortable. The Funk Zone is a stones throw away from the front doors and happenings on State Street a quick walk away. Highly recommended. Enjoy beautiful Santa Barbara!

This was a doubles room. Small but just enough room for two people.

GETTING HERE:…read more Navigate here to the address listed on Yelp. If you're knowledgeable about DTSB, I am sure you'll have a better suggestion on where/how to park. But, I found street parking at first 90-minutes free, so I took advantage of that opportunity. Yay! #Winning. REVIEW: When I was a kid, I wanted to be an art history major. There has always been something that caught my eyes and ears when I hear the words, "Art". Now, I don't know anything about art, nor do I know which was is up. I just know that I live near an incredible venue and hadn't yet attended or reviewed! So many things I am updating in 2026. Here is the 1st one: I walked across the main drag and up the front stairs to the museum. There were a few docents (I assume) sitting at the front desk area that took my payment for entering. Thankfully, I didn't have (unrealistic) expectations on what to expect as this was my first art museum experience. It appeared there was a bit of development/construction going on as some of the areas were closed or marked off. After I paid the entrance fee, they handed me a map and I was on my way. It would have been nice to have had some interchange with any of them, as I told them I was a first-timer. Oh well. Such is life in 2026. I took a lot of pictures, and truth be told, as I said before, I don't know which was is up or what I was looking at most of the time. I just know that visually speaking, the entire visit was beautiful! Being able to look around at my own pace was very nice. Although, TBH, it would have bene nice to have bene able to ask someone a question or two, but alas, that didn't break my trip or overall experience. I was hoping they had a gift shop where I could have bought some bookmarks or some art pictures. There wasn't one, unfortunately. I cannot wait to go back! Highly, highly recommend a visit!

On our return visit (a Monday) we were surprised and embarrassed by the rudeness we encountered. The young supervisor (?) granted us late entry, saying he "supposed he could let us"? enjoy additional galleries before we entered the special exhibition. (He was white, 30-40, with long brown hair.) The cranky volunteers working admission, on both our visits, were exasperation that we didn't have QR codes on our e-tix (because they weren't included), and grudgingly asked to examine our e-tickets and looked up the order name for admission. It wasn't hard; it wasn't our fault, and the content of our e-tix wasn't our responsibility. Why the rudeness, treating visitors like petty thieves? It's a hard job, dealing with the public, and technology-challenged volunteers might feel defensive and blame-y when hiccups occur, even if caused by the museum. So maybe they should staff lower-pressure positions, instead of being the first to greet visitors? Perhaps enlist paid staff for special exhibitions? Nice that there was one younger woman with long dark hair who was exceptionally helpful to us and her tech-challenged coworkers. I have no beef with inexpert help at a museum. It's likely accompanied with warmth & courtesy. We were polite and patient, so the leap to "No" was confounding. No, you can't enter, No your tickets aren't valid, No, you can't visit other galleries. Who needs this? I had hoped to share my local museum with pride. I recommend heading south when in the area, and visiting LA museums and the charming little Santa Paula Art Museum.

I saw it initially after it closed on Friday night, so made it a point to stop in on Saturday on my way out. I came in here around 11am on Saturday morning and what brought me in was one of the Dambo trolls that are permanently housed here, sweet!! I have loved Dambo trolls since discovering them a few years ago when I was in Denmark for Xmas holidays. I have also seen a few of them at Filoli Gardens in SF, but as of yet, have not found them in Denmark (yet), I will go back to find these trolls! This museum has a troll that is ceiling to floor and her name is Lulu Hyggelig she's permanant here in Solvang. I only took a look at this troll and looked around the museum shop. There was a suggested donation for the museum but the staff working here didnt seem that strict on collecting museum fees so that was nice. Definitely come here to check out this troll but also check out the museum, its small but its got a lot to keep you busy. Also, easy parking in the back which also makes it nice as this part of the street can get congested. Id definitely come back here again!

We were let in at 10:00 AM, we focused on the 2 Main Exhibitions. We spent about another hour or so in the museum. As we walked through the museum, I kept thinking about what Michelle Williams's character Gayle Getty implied at the end of the Movie ALL OF THE MONEY IN THE WORLD. After the billionaire passed, they were finding MASTERPIECES under stairwells, under beds, practically tripping over themselves. I felt the same way. STUFF, and more Stuff!!!
