First time going to this barber. The barber buzzed the sides and wet my hair .I wanted A 1/2 inch cut all around. He wet it so much and plastered it down that i was unable to see how much hair he cut. Very little was cut.I woke up the next day with the same amount of hair that i walked in with except for the sides Whatever was cut is all uneven and out of control . After leaving gaping holes on the sides barber denied any responsibility & refused to return the $5 change thereby stealing a tip that was not deserved for such a disastrous outcome. read more

Very disrespectful barbershop. I arrived and asked if I needed an appointment. They said no and was told to wait outside about 15 minutes for my turn. I was waiting in line for my turn and another customer arrived they allowed him to cut the line and get service ahead of me. I told the barber that I was there first and he told me to wait and I'd be next after him??. I just left as this is very disrespectful of my time. read more

So I was introduced to rivols last summer my man buzz stegs comes in on the reg getting the skin fade .. so I go in the guy in the front does a great job lines me up like the yellow lines on the highway .. I say to myself wow this is my new spot 2 weeks goes by I go in after a long day at work . Moved to Long Beach and needed a trim... I never go to supercuts or anything like that because i need a quality haircut. Generally I go to a salon that is going to do a good job. However, i didnt want to pay $65 for a mens hair cut at a salon. (About $40 is my limit, afterall, its a quick job.) So i went to Rivoli and had a genuine barber's cut. Rafael cut my hair, he did a good job and it only took about 15 min. Nothing fancy about this place. Just a good old fashioned cut, and thanks to the barbers license, a neck shave also. Great job and it was $14 for the cut. $20 out the door? Thats a steal. They are open 7 days a week. M-Sat til 6. Sunday til 3. It's my new spot, for sure. read more

Worst barber I've ever been to in my life. When I first arrived I asked if this was an actual barbershop bc it says "hair salon" on the front of the building. They laughed and said " of course it is we have all the tools and the guy cutting your hair has 35 years experience". I asked for a medium razor fade and not to go too high and he tried giving me a low fade, and the left side had what looked like botched holes all around. I asked him to fix it; so he proceeded and left a line all around my head in what looked like I could've done myself in 2 minutes. AGAIN I asked him to fix it and he said "it's a good fade." The back was botched all over the lines were uneven around my head and it was drastically low on the right side. I gave him $25 bc I was literally about to flip out and that's what they charge at a place that destroys your hair. I will never in my life recommend this place or go back. I been going here for years and refuse to go anywhere else. I always see michael who is one the best in the biz. If your looking for a barber who is great a buzzer and scissors guru he is your man. I like to do a very textured top and nice smooth sides like a real $100 a cut stylist would do (been to top saloons for it) but he does better. Iv come across very few barbers who can do this and he is the best. Just go in ask for him tell and show him exactly what you want and how you want to style it and he will set you up. He is also very nice and down to earth person to be around. Great shop and very welcoming. read more

Just moved to Long Beach a couple of months ago, needed a haircut, and was referred to Michael at the Rivoli by a friend . Michael gave me a terrific, first rate haircut. As requested, he layered the top and sides, left the hair to the top of my ears and brought up the back to the hairline. He was very attentive and focused. The Shoppe charges $18 for a men's haircut, $15 for seniors. No reservations. I highly recommend Michael. read more

I have been a customer of Rivoli for over six years. I've been through multiple barbers to cut my hair but notable to say Michael and Gary take care of you. Every time I've walked I let them what type haircut I would like that day. In all honesty can't complain about having a haircut plus a nice hot shave. Worst barber shop I've ever been to . My barber barely spoke English I told him I just wanted to trim 2 inches off and a shape up and he ended up cutting at least 5 inches off, then he didn't want to do the shape up kept trying to convince me not to do it I had to tell him that's what I came here for like 3 times then he does the shape up and on the side I told him to blend it in and he couldn't even do that right he just gave me thick ass side burns. And didn't even line up the front of my shit then he tried charging me $25 for the haircut If I could sue them for fucking up my head I would I came in there expecting to leave with most of my hair I don't know how tf I came out with a blowout. Smhh mans needs to lose his barber certificate. DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE‼‼ read more

I've been using the for about 12 or so years now on and off and have found them to be consistently good even though they changed hands, the shop is clean and sometime be prepared to wait. They have some great barbers though that know their craft. Anyone of them will be sure to give you a stellar hair cut. read more

First time I went here, the guy who cut my hair did a great job. He actually used scissors to cut my hair, which unfortunately most barbers do not do anymore. Anyway, the next time I went, I was looking for the same guy and learned that he just comes in when he wants to. I was told he was on his way, but after about 40 minutes I just had someone else cut my hair. He used a buzzer, only, and did an ok job. Next time, I got the first guy, but this time, no scissors. I reminded him the previous time he cut my hair that he used scissors and he just kind of shrugged. The haircut was ok and that's pretty much what you get here...An ok haircut. It's really too bad that barbers today don't seem to know how to use a pair of scissors. The buzzers are good for certain styles of course, but if you have straight hair and want a regular cut, a barber who knows how to use scissors will give you a much cleaner hair cut. Thankfully, I found a barber who does use scissors and moved on from Rivoli. read more
