My recent experience with Ben Feilmeier and his roofing company, RIZE Roofing & Construction, was exceptional in every way. My situation: the shingles on my home were 41-years old and cracked in several areas. I hadn't experienced a roof leak yet, but the issue that created the need for a roof replacement had to do with the fact that the flashing around a bathroom skylight and a chimney needed repair. To do this, a few feet of roof shingles would have to be removed and because the shingles were no longer available, the entire roof needed to be replaced in order to repair the flashing. I don't have a single negative word to say about Ben or RIZE, so let me just list the positives: 1. Ben answered my initial call immediately and arranged to inspect my roof and provide an estimate for a full replacement with 24 hours. 2. Ben was very friendly, professional, and careful to maintain the currently recommended Covid-19 social-distance of 6-feet when we met. 3. Ben pointed out other issues (e.g. missing downspout, vents) I might want to address. He explained his process, but he never talked down to me and he didn't waste time. 4. The estimate was received promptly and it came in approximately $200 lower than the estimate prepared by my insurance company (and it included high quality Owens Corning Class 4 shingles). 5. When I signed the contract, Ben offered to swing by the house and go over everything with me again (wasn't necessary). 6. Ben had had experience with USAA, so he knew what to expect along the way in that regard (which gave me even more confidence in him). 7. I was not required to pay any money to RIZE up front. Ben sent me an invoice for the total amount once the job was completed. 8. The final price matched the estimate to the penny. There were no surprises, and never any sales pitch or pressure to do anything more than replace the roof. 9. Before RIZE went to work on my roof, I sent Ben a list of about 10 questions. He answered every single one of them timely, thoroughly, and with respect. 10. Great communication throughout the entire process! 11. Ben handled everything. He even scheduled the inspector and notified me to expect him within a day or two of the roof replacement. 12. The roof replacement was completed in ONE day! 13. My yard was spotless - no debris - after the RIZE team was done. There were zero issues with my landscaping (no damage). 14. Ben completed the paperwork I needed in order to update my insurance policy and receive an insurance credit on my homeowner's policy within just a few hours of my request. I called Rize Roofing because we needed someone to come out and replace a damaged part and redo the caulking around some vents in our roof. I was worried roofing companies might think it was too small of a job to be worth their time, but Rize was willing and able to help. The woman who answered the phone when I called was very friendly, and told me they could help but she needed to call me back after checking availability. She called back very quickly and said someone could come take a look and give an estimate same day. Dave came out about 20 minutes later and looked everything over. He was very patient about answering all my questions and explaining what was needed to me. The very next morning Dave came back to the house with the new part, replaced it and got everything all sealed up for us. Very competitive roofing rates. I made the mistake of not making sure gutters were included and they were not. They were one of the most run down parts of a home I just purchased. No complaints on the roof, they were able to do the roof quickly, the price was great, around the house was left clean and we haven't seen any screws or nails, either. The only dock of a star is for the lack of estimate for the gutters, which I asked for after the roof was complete, due to my mistake. I ended up having to hire someone else since I never got it. We needed our roof replaced due to hail damage. Ben impressed us from the start. First off, Ben showed up to measure for a quote on the day and time scheduled, and emailed his quote to us the very next morning. We had arranged for quotes from 3 other companies, all 3 did not show up when promised and took at least 1 week to return a quote to us ( never got a quote from 1 of them). His quoted price was comparable with the other quotes we did receive. Ben explained the material shortages the roofing industry was experiencing but promised to schedule the job as soon as the shingles were available. Gave us a call a few weeks later and scheduled the material delivery and although there was a 2 day delay for weather (snow), his crew showed up on the day promised. Tore off the old roof, installed most of the new roof the first day and were back early the next morning to finish up. We were pleased that Ben stopped in during the first day to check on progress. The roof looks great - nice straight even courses! His crew caulked/painted all the flashings and cleaned up pretty well. Could have put a little more effort into collecting dropped nails, but we planned to do that anyway. Overall, we are very pleased with the job they did and impressed by their punctuality and quality of work. The December 2021 terrible wind blew a tile off my roof, which I found on the ground (intact) some time later. I contacted Travis at Rize Roofing to see if he could squeeze my repair in, in between repairing my neighbors' roofs, which took a much worse beating than mine. He checked my roof, and found the place where the missing tile should be, as well as other tiles that had become loose. A few days later, he replaced the tile, and put adhesive under the ones that were loose. Upon my request, he also graciously returned to clean some brown drippings off of my slider door, that I thought was from the adhesive. It turns out it wasn't adhesive, which would have stuck to the glass, but didn't. Travis goes above and beyond the call of duty when serving his customers! I called eight companies to bid my mothers roof. These guys were onsite within 24 hours, Had a bid to me within 48 hours, and their bid was on par with the insurance company. They did the work in one day which was within a week of the request for bid. Other companies wanted to work the insurance for more money, come measure 2-3 times and these guys got it done the first time right.
