RK was recommended to us by a neighbor because my past HVAC service was off today. The outside air unit was hardly starting and was running noisily this week. I was concerned the unit was going to die. He diagnosed the problem and fixed it with parts from his truck. RK also thoroughly cleaned the unit because my past HVAC service couldn't clean it. At 5pm I realized that our furnace was not running, and the thermostat did not have power. In a bit of a panic - it's going to be cold tonight - I called RK. He said he could come out in a couple hours, but then offered to try to help me over the phone. He walked me through the steps to trouble-shoot the issue, and I found that I had accidentally turned off the power when I changed the filter (huge guy, tiny space). I have an old rental which is a good looking house but was very neglected. Heater stopped working, inspected by a tech from my home warranty folks, and deemed a definite R&R. While the home warranty folks took their time, we looked for a few other quotes. RK had serviced the hvac a few years ago & was so cool and reasonable, I remembered the company. They were able to promptly come out, gave me a great price, did the complete replacement of a 2.5 ton heater/ac unit, and had it all safe and running. They were also really candid and a pleasure to do business with. Being from maintenance, I highly appreciate their experience. I was really pleased with my experience with this company. When he came to give the estimate for our new system Rajesh showed a clear understanding of the flaws of what we had. He offered us a pretty low price compared to most of the other companies. I believe that part of this is due to the name brand of the equipment--Ruud. It's not as highly ranked as some, but it's owned by Rheem, which is highly ranked, and they are basically the same thing. In addition, what put it over the top for us in choosing RK was that they offered to fix our existing system for free until they could come in and install the new one. They were successful, and they STILL came to install the new one earlier than we thought. They did a great job, and we are quite happy with the outcome! read more

I wake up the day I'm hosting a huge party and come downstairs to find my ceiling leaking and my rug wet. Not a happy camper. I had moved in to my place just a month before and the leak was happening where there was a previous patch: turned out it was due to over-condensation from the air conditioner. Within a few hours, RK was at my house (a few minutes before his estimated noon arrival time-- bonus!), and he quickly got to work. Being a new-to-me house, I had no idea where apparently important things like drain lines were, but he did the best he could with my limited knowledge. It was pouring rain but he went back and forth between the outside and inside units (being sure to wipe his feet each time) and eventually showed me the large hunk of ice chilling on my inside unit. Not good. He diagnosed that the coil needed to be replaced and we decided he'd come back in a few days to install. He's responsive both over the phone and on email, which is perfect for me. It took him a few hours to install the new coil but he was always sure to alert me to what he was doing: for example he warned me the smoke alarm might go off due to soldering, etc. Unfortunately, the leak was back the next night and he was back the next morning, determined to find the drain. Once he did, all was fixed and I haven't had a problem since. Not only did RK do the job and do it well, he couldn't have been nicer. I was pretty sick throughout the whole process, spending most of the time he was here in bed, and he texted me after the job was over to check up on me, wish me good health, and provide some at home remedies for my ailing throat. Just a note: if you have a dog, be sure you've got a place to put it away while he's there. He's not a fan. read more

RK installed a new HVAC system at our home ~ 16 years ago. They did a great job at a fair price. Over the years RK did a couple of service calls for repairs (capacitor, relay, etc). Rajesh always came promptly, usually had the correct part on his truck, and charged a reasonable price. This last time our AC went out on a Saturday night. I left a voicemail, but was concerned that I may have to call a larger company to get service on a 92-degree Sunday. Not to worry - Rajesh called ~10AM Sunday morning and was at our house by noon. Unfortunately, this time it was the fan motor, which could have taken a few days to get due to parts availability during the Covid-19 pandemic. The motor and installation would have cost $700+, and since the unit had been running all night, there was a chance the compressor had been damaged. He gave me a price for a new AC. I asked if we should consider a more expensive and efficient unit but he didn't think it would be worth the money. He never tried to pressure or up-sell me and said our furnace should be good for years. I asked him to give me a couple of hours to think about it. Just a little online research will tell you the average life-span for an AC unit is 15-20 years. I called Rajesh and asked him to replace the AC unit. There was no reason to get any other estimate. He called about 7:30 Monday morning and said they were on the way. We had the new unit installed by 1PM. I tend to be skeptical when a company's online reviews are all glowing and positive but RK's are well-deserved. My furnace stopped working after a 30 minute power outage, on a Friday night... in a snow storm. I submitted an online request hoping that maybe someone could come out the following morning. RK Heating & Air called me at 10:25 PM that same night and walked me through troubleshooting the possible reasons the furnace would suddenly stop working. Realizing the overflow pump was the problem, they had me simply wiggle the pump to get it to fire and everything worked again. I was really impressed that they could diagnose and fix a problem like this over the phone. read more

We love RK. He installed an entire new HVAC in our home 7 years ago (rebuild duct lines, pulled out the old furnace, the works). We've only had two issues, both in the last month and both caused by power surges. In both cases RK came out to fix the issue, and was able to quickly figure out what was wrong. One case he was able to fix immediately with parts from his truck; the other we had to wait 48 hours for the manufacturer's warehouse to open (and he was there 9 am to get the part). RK came out quickly when our furnace wasn't working, and diagnosed the problem quickly and accurately (turns out it wasn't the furnace, but a wiring issue in the new Nest thermostat). Furthermore, we needed him to provide a detailed invoice telling exactly what he did to fix the problem so that we wouldn't have any issues with the furnace being covered under our home warranty. Best service person I ever dealt with on anything. Honest, reasonable, punctual, available. Even when I was thinking and suggesting that a more expensive repair was needed he would give me the best option at the best cost. Just this morning I called to get him to service my furnace that was giving me trouble. Instead of jumping at the opportunity to stick me with an expensive service call like most other companies would, after I explained the symptoms he suggested a quick fix I could try on my own before he came out to service the unit.
