For this event, we had the opportunity of working with The Indy Pavillion's production team. We loved working closely with Jason and Dustin to bring our vision for this event to life. When tackling production for this event, we needed to figure out where to start, Jason and Dustin communicated, planned, and worked with us to create the best production plan for Unveiled. Renting production equipment and other event essentials through them was a seamless process; when it came time for our event, their team worked vigorously beside us the week and day of Unveiled. We honestly wouldn't have been able to create all that Unveiled was without Indy Pavillion's passion and team!

So I guess my first comment on the venue is that maybe they should consider doing something surrounding branding or advertising so people know it exists. But I took a chance because free Fall Out Boy and got in to the event! It was a frigid night and the line was long but the folks running line management were nice and once doors opened the line moved smoothly. They had multiple heaters set up along the way and the stanchions made sense and were easy to follow. Once inside everyone who'd been waiting line for at least an hour made a bee line to the bathroom - where we all again stood in a line but it too moved fast. It was odd as we had to cross the entire venue and it appeared as though there is just one bathroom for the place which wasn't quite big enough for a crowd that size. There were bars at the back and a VIP section I did not interact with. The show and acoustics were good for a place that's main aesthetic is empty warehouse. The lighting was actually really nice because there was nothing for it to interfere with. Fall Out Boy of course was awesome and now I can say I got to try out a new venue and see one of my all time favorite bands for free!

They once called to advise of a mistake made on their end resulting in them needing to perform more extensive work, which would normally be a several hundred dollar job but they completed it absolutely free. All of my guitars they've worked on feel great and as someone who is getting back into playing guitar after several years of neglecting the instrument... having excellent playing guitars and a people I can rely on for great work and great service has helped reignite my passion and enthusiasm for the guitar and music as a whole! I had a 50 year old 12-string that had an issue with a cracked heel - not easy to fix, but these gentleman have the knowledge and the skill and they literally brought this guitar back to life. I have since brought my other two guitars in to them for some TLC and they have done a fantastic job. AND their fees are reasonable! I will never let anyone else work on my precious guitars. Cannot recommend them highly enough.

I've got a couple friends who regularly have exhibits in shows at The Garfield Park Arts Center,…read morehowever, since I live in Lawrence I simply don't get down this way as often. I really should. The Garfield Park Arts Center, like the park itself, falls under Indy Parks. Originally built in 1922 as the "Community House," it was designed to look like a picnic shelter with enclosed walls, high ceilings, and fireplaces at each end. In 1930, a large swimming pool was located in the area that is now the parking lot. At that time, it was primarily used as a locker room and rec center area. In 1990, the pool was removed and replaced by the Aquatic Center that is now located at the Burrello Family Center. In 2006, the "Community House" was remodeled with a $2.7 million grant. It became the Garfield Park Arts Center. The 8,000 square foot facility now houses a multi-use performing arts space, exhibition hall, visual and production arts classrooms, a recording studio, a literary arts library, and a rehearsal room. The GPAC is big enough that it typically has multiple exhibits going. For example, right now there's a modern quilting show, a solo show by Jay Hamm, and a show by Christy Harp. GPAC hosts a variety of workshops and classes including current activities like voice and piano lessons, ceramics, and quite a few visual arts options including those specifically for children. The classes are way affordable - for example, there's a $10 rock painting class for kids. As someone who has a pet rock, I'm all for rock painting. GPAC also hosts summer camps and special events. The calendar is on their website. I'm particularly enchanted by a classic movie night. They've also assisted with some of the public art in Garfield Park. The art center tends to be open limited hours - for example, 1-5pm during the week. It does participate in First Fridays. I'm a big fan of Garfield Park and I'm a big fan of having access to the arts. I find this facility to be quite accessible and even more after their 2006 renovation. It's not perfect (no building of this age is), however, it's quite good. Prices are affordable and the center itself has a nice combination of nostalgia with contemporary comforts. Especially for those with kids who may enjoy the classes, GPAC is a definite winner.

The class was small to, so you will receive one on one attention if needed. The gallery was also a nice experience before the class.
