This non-profit museum is one of few specifically representing African Art. Mrs. Doris Ligon is the founder and director. She is extremely knowledgeable of the pieces and her compassion shows. They are responsible for the inclusion of an African Unit for Howard County elementary schools. Third graders learn about Kenya and sixth graders, Ghana. They are planning to go back to South Africa in 2021 for 14 days with an opportunity to go to Dubai or Egypt for three days pre or post trip. They were authors present of the books Children Are Gifts, Thank You God series, and The Gift of Criticism and others. Soon they will host a Bishop from the Largest African church of Angola and a jazz event soon! I was so inspired, I became a member and volunteer!

Maryland Food Bank thrives off of weekend volunteer hours for packers in their conveyor belt area to box canned goods and boxed foods as they'd otherwise have to bill these hours to payroll. I enjoyed myself and even got in a little cardio as the belt moved more and more foodstuffs through. I was in charge of canned veggies and boy were there lots of them. It was a good time and I can't wait to go back!

I have been dealing with Parental Alienation since August 2009. After one scheduled meeting with my daughter and I, they successfully removed themselves from the joint custody case. Please note, I had a Best Interest Attorney assigned to the joint custody case as well. National Family Resiliency Center staff lacks the adequate education and training for dealing with narcissistic individuals.

I am a mother of a child who thrives, thanks to NFRC. My ex husband and I agreed, at the very…read morebeginning, that NFRC would be an essential support for our son and the best in the area. Even though my son and his father do not have a relationship, it is with many hours and counseling that I can proudly say my son is now an adult (10 years later) who is well adjusted and finished HS top of his class and the State of Maryland. There were days when I felt like I was not understood and I didn't want to do the things our counselor told me to do, but ultimately I listened. I found out that I was the one who didn't understand and couldn't see that NFRC knew exactly what they were doing. I'm grateful now for their patience with my family and for always being there for my son. I have referred them to everyone I know who is going though a divorce in the area. I can say from this experience that no one can be made to do anything - wanting to self reflect/change for the sake of a loved one has to be a choice and a priority.......you can only change yourself.
