Well, if you are THAT GOOD in building deck why City won't approve your design??? If that doesn't give a hint of his experience then what would? I am glad that he didn't build my deck as later I found that his list of material that he provided was $2000 dollar less and inaccurate as he was missing several items and some of which were a MUST according to the code. I would be careful and not settle for his cheap bid. I am working with a great contractor now who got my deck permit approved in less than 12 hours!!!
