IDENTITY THEFT WARNING: Negligence and Zero Accountability…read more I am writing this to warn the public and potential buyers about a severe lack of security and professional ethics at this dealership. I recently discovered through a credit check that this location processed a vehicle sale in my name while I was on active military duty in Florida. The dealership allowed someone to purchase a car using only a photo of my ID and a fabricated check stub. Mind you they certified that the person on the ID was the person that was in the office. After getting MPD Involved the person was caught, however they didn't work alone. They worked with a Salesperson on the inside to come up with the scam. When I contacted the dealership to report this fraud, the management avoided my calls for months. Josh Walker refused to take any ownership of the situation. Instead of investigating how their finance department allowed such a high-value transaction to occur with zero physical verification, they have shown a complete lack of empathy and have made no effort to help me rectify the situation with GM Financial. I have been forced to involve the FTC, local law enforcement in Mobile, and my military legal counsel because this business refuses to even try to make it right. If you are a veteran and/or value your identity and your credit, stay far away from this establishment. Their verification process is non-existent, and their customer service is even worse.

I waited for about 20 minutes because Erika was the only person in the store. Another employee was helping a customer with the same request outside, a battery test. And another employee left early, I heard him tell Erika he had to leave an hour early to take care of some things. Normally, I would've cut out and went to auto store but Erika was holding it down. The employee outside was not quite comfortable with the battery test so he came inside and Erika went outside to complete the check and to make sure everything went well. She asked me to walk outside with her as she wrapped up with the previous customer. Before I we outside, I asked the other employee if he was comfortable running the battery/ alternator test on my car and he said "I am not". No worries, Erika to the rescue. She performed the check, gave me the report and also gave me options to replace my battery, which had a bad cell. She answered my questions, waited on customers and greeted customers as they walked in. AutoZone at Moffett is what it is because of Queen Erika. Her stellar, customer service and work ethic are outstanding. (-1 star because the other employee didn't have a clue) Girl, I'll see you soon for that battery, it was a great price after all. I recently purchased an alternator from your store, I was told that I was paying a core charge…read moreupfront and that when I brought my old alternator back to them, I would receive the core charge back. I paid $190.00 dollars cash and put the remaining balance of $44.00 on my credit card. The employee just neglected to tell me some very important things that would be required for getting my "upfront" core money back. First it's required that I bought MY old alternator back in the box of MY NEW alternator that I bought, to receive the change money back, and that I would NOT actually get my cash back, it would be reflected on my credit card 2 days later. I think this should have been absolutely explained at the time of my purchase. I wouldn't have gotten anything back if I had thrown my box away. I now see why AutoZones parking lot was full, and theirs was not! Guess I will choose to stand in line for a few minutes, and get the service that I pay for! Lesson learned!!

He obviously looked into my profile, but didn't look at all the reviews I have given. He told me I should consider giving better reviews for businesses I have interacted with. Well, Mike, I looked at the low reviews you have received, and there is clearly a trend in "had an appointment, was still there for X hours with no communication". After each one, the service manager or Mike responded with "thanks for the feedback, we'll make sure to do better in the future." Clearly, you haven't learned. And to switch the incident around to "Ian leaves bad reviews" is so passive-aggressive I'm not surprised that your employees have no notion of customer satisfaction. He said they had been having technical issues with the video of the inspection, and he didn't know why I wasn't given the evidence of the findings. Maybe it was because they were going to charge me $28 for a cabin filter replacement, even though it had clearly not been inspected - the contents of my glove box were exactly as I left them, and the catch to open the filter compartment is impossible to open. Note that at no point did I ask for a refund - I had written off the ~$150 as a "lesson learned" never to do business with this dealership again. Further Edit (2). Mike's response below claimed he was on the call. He did not announce himself. When the service manager called me, he said he was just returning my missed call/voice mail and was not aware of the reason for my call. Why would a senior manager be (stealthily) on a call if they didn't know I was calling with a complaint? Edit 1. The Service Manager called me and, after discussing the case, said that if I came back in, they would do a more thorough inspection as long as I deleted this review. When I asked if I had heard him correctly, he denied saying it and said he would send me a refund for the inspection. Original review: I had an appointment time at 11am. When I made the call I specifically asked for a detailed inspection of the used Camry I had recently bought. I was told they did a 160 point inspection for $180. I was asked if it was OK that the report was emailed to me rather than hard copy. The person making my booking said that at the mileage I had (125k), they would need to check spark plugs and other 100-125k maintenance items because they couldn't see a maintenance record (previous owner was a mechanic and did his own servicing). I arrived at 10:50 and was told it would take 90 minutes. After almost 3 hours of waiting, I texted the associate, and he came to tell me that he had waited on a senior tech and that he had only just started the inspection. When I mentioned the 11 am appointment time, he said that was just for check-in, not the inspection. If I had been told this at the time, I could have made alternate arrangements. When I finally got the hard copy report (he said he couldn't email it to me) it was only 30 items ($150), not 160, and basic things like the battery test results and the details of axle boot repair were missing. I asked if there were pictures to support the findings and he said no. While I was checking in he took a call from another customer and I clearly heard him say that he had reviewed the video of the service and was able to confirm the findings. This appears to be standard operating procedure, but I was not allowed to see it. As part of my process I uploaded the report to Chat GPT which highlighted the missing items on the report, including the lack of inspection of the spark plugs which I had been promised on the initial call. When I told Daniel I had run it through AI and had some concerns, he walked away and muttered "we don't use AI here". Maybe you should start and achieve better quality inspection results and give your people some customer service training. Needless to say I will not be returning and will let everyone know what a horrible experience I had. Over 4 hours with zero communication, no apology, and snide remarks.

Looked online for part numbers and prices. WOW filter for the truck is less than 5 bucks. I can get both the Toyota and Lexus filter here, as well as the oil priced fair. Didn't complete online purchase as I will just stop by and get them while I am on that side of town, no need for delivery. Dude behind the counter let me know that price is online only, OK so, I will just complete online purchase and be done. No not possible, on Saturday online purchase won't be completed in the system, gotta wait until Monday. Really? What kind of bullshit is this? I gotta wait 2 days for the online price discount to save a whopping 2.05? No problem, I will just go get a filter somewhere, anywhere else. FYI I spent 15 bucks at auto parts store. This online price point to drive business to the door just blew up in their face, as you can tell I will spend 3 times the money to do business elsewhere. I suppose customer service has left the building COMPLETELY. I would hate to think I lost a customer over 2 bucks because I am sure they spend more than that on advertising to get a shot at selling a truck, but what do I know? I would have given the damn filter to a customer to "earn" the opportunity to sell a vehicle, but I am in sales and make my living in commission and I didn't mention my upcoming purchase potential because that's not how I do things. I am not trying to get anything for free, just the advertised price every Toyota dealer in the state post. I am certain these clowns will see me as the problem since I keep trying to do business with them and they just don't want my money. Ya'll do realize that I buy cars for these parts right? The truck has 98k on the clock and will get traded before it rolls 100 'cause that's where I take the next depreciation hit. Oh so that's why I wanted a OEM filter, looks better to trade with that in place I expect. Side note, my dealer I purchased this from has changed hands and my contact there is now gone, so I am seeking a new dealership to call home for Toyota purposes. Guess who it won't be? Oh well I will give Palmer's a shot next weekend to trade me into a new truck.
