Plant City Animal Hospital is a great place to take your pet. If you're looking a vet office that…read morecares, isn't alarmist, and is fair and open about pricing, check this place out. My cat ginger hadn't been feeling well for the last few days. She's rarely sick and figured a visit to the vet was due. I called and made an appointment for 2:20 pm on Thursday. Early Thursday, I called to check on any cancellations but there were none. However, I was told to come in at 1 pm and if they could squeeze me in, they would do their best. I arrived at 1 pm and got checked in. Haley at the front desk was kind and welcoming. She got me all checked in and I waited. I ended up being seen early around 1:30 pm. Everyone I dealt with was super kind and was very clear and up-front about pricing and what they would do care-wise. They were delicate, kind, and soothing to my cat. They made sure she was calm and distracted. I've never seen my cat so quiet and non-squirmy. I was given peace-of-mind of my cat's health, I wasn't bombarded with product endorsements and I wasn't panicked with a bunch of costly tests or overnight observations. Everything, including medicine, was under $200. If you're looking for a vet, look no further. I highly recommend Plant City Animal Hospital.

We called telling the staff we were running late and could they please wait a few minutes for us to get there. The answer was "we can't stay after 6pm for safety reasons" and that we would have to leave Emma overnight, which is what ultimately happened. Then when we picked her up in the morning, they had the balls to charge for boarding, even though I still have prepaid daycare that hasn't been used up. They have my money for that, but gave me a bulls--t story that it's a different service, so I couldn't use it as payment for the boarding. This place is totally about their own convenience and the cash flow, not how a person cares about a "Family member" They also said there is NO ONE in the building after 8:00 pm. Suppose there was a fire or other emergency, the animals wouldn't stand a chance. I am definitely going elsewhere for vet veterinary services and have had them send all of my records to me. It's a shame, because I really like the doctors here, but the manager and her attitude is beyond words.

Pigs are not always recognized as…read morea family pet and there are vets that see them only as a food animal (that's the world we live in, it just is). Finding a vet that acknowledges the relationship and not their personal view is harder to find than one may think. Dr. Bailey and his team rose to the challenge. Referred by a former vet who no longer would see pigs; we called after monitoring a situation that literally grew beyond our control. Dr. Bailey even offered to drive over an hour on a Saturday for a house call just based on our concern and description. Admittedly, he didn't feel waiting until Monday would be an issue. We brought Hampton in that following Monday for care. Yes, care. The cost and care plan was thoroughly explained and with our approval swiftly expedited. Hampton had to stay the week. We received daily updates and photos of his progress and were permitted to visit!! We were an hour away and a visit wasn't always an option for us. Those calls allowed us to sleep at night. If you know, you know. The pick up maybe wasn't as smooth but we were dealing with a pig completely out of his safe zone. The tolerance was unparalleled and we cannot thank the staff and Dr. Bailey enough for their guidance, patience, and expertise. At the end of the day we honestly paid less than anticipated (from past experience) and have our boy back home safe and sound. The level of knowledge, experience, and empathy we received was exceptional. Walden Lake Animal Clinic is top notch!!

I had Dr. Bailey come out for a farm visit and unfortunately the experience fell well below my…read moreexpectations. The process started with trying to schedule the appointment, which was frustrating. The individual handling scheduling seemed unfamiliar with how to arrange a farm call and was unable to answer basic questions. When the team arrived, their immediate priority appeared to be obtaining my signature authorizing future charges before addressing my animal's needs. Dr. Bailey arrived with two technicians who, in my opinion, provided little assistance during the visit and struggled to effectively handle the animal. While the issue was ultimately addressed, the overall experience was overshadowed by poor communication and a lack of professionalism. Dr. Bailey's bedside manner was disappointing, and the veterinary technicians came across as borderline rude throughout the visit. After receiving the invoice, I noticed multiple itemized charges, including an "injection administration fee." I have no issue paying a farm call fee, as I understand the convenience and additional travel involved. However, when I called seeking clarification regarding the administration charge, no one in the office could explain it. Eventually, I spoke directly with Dr. Bailey, who informed me in a less-than-professional manner that the fee was charged because he administered the injection. I have worked with veterinarians across the country through professional equine competition and farm animal care, and while the charge itself was relatively minor, the explanation and overall interaction that followed were not. The issue was never the amount charged; it was the lack of transparency, customer service, and professionalism surrounding it. While the medical concern was ultimately resolved, the experience left me feeling more like a billing transaction than a valued client. Unfortunately, based on this experience, I will be seeking veterinary care elsewhere in the future.

I've boarded the family Goldendoodle (Max - http://tiktok.com/@mackymaxdoodle) many times without any issue. I recently had to leave town for a family funeral for the weekend. I dropped off Max Friday. I should have known things have gone downhill at My Pets when they had lost his reservation and the pre-paperwork I had completed prior to his arrival. Max apparently did well on Friday however on Saturday evening during a family funeral gathering, I received a long text explaining Max had growled while the handler (Sasha) went to let him out. Without discussion, the handler texted to inform me they had decided to sedate Max. He had already stayed the night prior with no issues. They also informed me of the medication cost and additional expense to administer the medication. They promptly sent a video in which they took a second effort to enter the cold prison like room, walk to his cell, and without being friendly to him and calling his name, they clanked the door latches and yes, he made a purring/growling noise. He appeared very nervous and scared. I asked for Dr Donna to call me as I didn't want him sedated and didn't understand why experts were unable to handle a family dog as they have many times before. I let them know to open the cage and invite him out and he'd be fine. I didn't get a call from Donna. Instead, I received a long text from Donna explaining that she had told the handler to sedate him and that was their policy. I told her I didn't want him sedated and that I would leave the out-of-town family gathering and come get him ASAP. Donna informed me I should get Max behavioral training (super well-trained family dog) and that she would call me to discuss the issue the following week. It would seem that it's My Pets staff that needs the training. They are supposed to know how to handle dogs while boarding. She also informed me that Max had disrupted hers and her staff's weekend. As it got close to pick Max up, I texted and asked how they would get him out of the cage as I didn't want him sedated. I received no reply. The same handler got him out of the cage and brought him to me (somehow without sedating him). Everyone at the front desk was "unsure" if Max was sedated including Sasha. It seemed there was a lack of transparency and trust as in his returned items was a bottle of pills with 4 pills unaccounted for. I informed them that he is a family member and didn't deserve to be drugged because he had a handler unwilling to be friendly to him and quite frankly was probably scared. I will never return Max to My Pets. He deserves to be treated with care and the handler failed to do so by intimidating him while he was in a vulnerable state. When Max first went to My Pets, they would greet him by name and even bring him a Licky mat with cheese whiz. This isn't even close to how he was treated during this boarding stay. Also, Dr. Donna didn't follow up and call to discuss like both her and her staff said would happen. Very disappointed and do not recommend boarding for your fury family member.
