My wife and I highly recommend this business. My wife has used their services for years. The business may look a little rough around the edges, but don't let that put you off. I'm a fairly competent mechanic, myself, but no longer choose to work on cars so I some idea of what good autobody and mechanical work is. All the work we've had done has been excellent, they have always stuck to their estimate, have always been able to schedule the work quickly and have had it finished when they said they would. My wife stopped in one day with a light bulb burned out. I don't know if they recognized her as a regular customer, but they stopped what they were doing and replaced the bulb, then my wife had to insist that they charge her for the work. If there is a better shop anywhere in the area, I haven't heard of it. read more

This review is for the Mechanic Shop of Roans. This is in addition to the body show that is across the parking lot from the body shop. I stopped in yesterday to have them check a noise in my left front brake. Chad took my car for a road test, determined what the problem was, jacked up the car, fixed the problem, road tested it, and it was FIXED while I waited. Can't beat that! Make sure if you take your vehicle here that EVERYTHING works PROPERLY. I went here in July for my inspection... few days later when I almost got hit I needed to slam on my horn here to find out my horn isn't working. So I called roans again and they told me to bring it back.... they charged me for THEIR mess up. When I got my car after they fixed my horn... all the lights inside my car was out... not only that I recently almost got hit because of all my turning signal lights were out.... I do NOT recommend this place to anyone. read more

My first encounter w/Roan's was when I needed some welding done on my vehicle. The sub-frame was rusted out and wouldn't pass inspection. I took it to a place on N Atherton Street for an estimate and they gave me a price of $1500. I called a buddy of mine to see if he could recommend anybody else to do the job, and he said, "Yeah, take it to Roan's Body Shop." So I took my car to Roan's, they put it up on the rack and looked things over. The owner said, "I can fix it, $750!!" I didn't even tell him that I had another estimate of $1500, just took it in and he quoted me that price!! That was over 30 yrs ago, and I've been going to Roan's ever since!! You can look high, low, and in between, but I can guarantee that you won't find a better shop to repair your vehicle. Whether it's something mechanical that needs fixed, or if you should happen to have a run in with a deer, Roan's can do the repairs for you at more than a fair price. read more

This is a useful and helpful car repair shop. The owner, Russ, will use at times salty language and at times offensive terms. But, I respect all sorts even those with views I don't agree with all the time, and keep coming back. His son Kevin is more laid back, but not as often in the front office. The work is extremely good value, inexpensive and good. And fast, almost violating the rule about good, cheap, fast: pick two. He and Kevin have fixed two faults that other shops could not, and they did it either for free or what felt like for a tip. so, has it's flaws, but real strengths as well. I took my BMW to them to change oil because my friend recommended them. BMW filter caps have plastic inserts that are important for the oil system to function properly. Clearly they forgot to put that insert back in or simply threw it away out of negligence. The car started showing a "drivetrain malfunction" warning. I took the car back to them but they had no clue. The dealer immediately identified the problem, it cost me 150$ to replace the filter cap and the problem was solved. When I called the owner of the place (Kevin) he dismissed my concerns by saying that the insert "probably wasn't there to start with" and that "they don't throw stuff away". It's clearly not true because I have only been changing oil at the dealership before and there was no problem before I took the car to Roan's. The dealership actually immediately identified the problem (they said it happens often with unprofessional mechanics). Most likely the guy who did the job was clueless about BMW oil filters and Kevin or whoever his supervisor was didn't care to check. I learned my lesson well - when you try to save by taking the car to an unprofessional mechanic, it's going to cost you more. Stay away from this place at all cost! Also immediately after you enter, you sense something is not right - the customer area probably has never been cleaned and is full of some dirty stuff. read more

Russell Roan has been in the body shop business for probably half a century. He's brash. He's not fluffy. He might even seem kinda grumpy. But, he's also kind and understanding. My 23 year old car failed inspection at Stocker Chevrolet last year because of a hole that wasn't even close to 1/2 inch because it could MAYBE allow to some noxious gas to POSSIBLY get into my trunk and could PERHAPS make me ill. Did the dealership know the fix was to cut off a small piece of steel and weld a new small piece of steel to the vehicle? Yes they did. Would they do it? No. Why? I have no idea. I asked a bunch of people what I should do. And without telling them who others had suggested, they ALL said, "take it to Roan's." In addition to that, the car also needed a new muffler. My car doesn't just get a new muffler. It gets a muffler SET. Russell's son did all of that work. I was a bit apprehensive of the cost (low) without a written estimate. But the actual cost of the work was lower than the already low estimate. I have since taken my car back for some body work that needed to be done. Again, no estimate on paper. And again, the cost came in lower than expected. Roan's keeps their labor charges DOWN to manageable. The dealerships around here are THIEVES on their labor charges. $100.00 PER HOUR!!!!! Russell's labor rate at the time my car was repaired? $55.00 per hour. If you need something done and done well and you're not going through insurance and need to pay out of pocket, "take it to Roan's!" read more

Roan's body shop on Corl street is amazing. Ive taken my vehicle there many time now. They are a "No BS" kinda place. They won't try and get you to fix stuff that doesn't need fixed right then! And They will fix older vehicles to pass inspection! And in addition, if it has a little rust or something another shop won't touch, chances are they might be able to fix it! I can't speak highly enough about this place. Great labor rates and good work done. The place DOES look a little run down And small but don't let that deceive you! They get me in quickly and the turn around time is usually hrs or days, not weeks! I will be taking all my vehicles here from now on. Oil change to body work they can do it all! And the biggest thing, that I mentioned before, is they are HONEST! And I believe that's hard to find in Mechanics these days! read more

Roan's Body shop is THE place to get your car repaired!!! I was recently hit by a big garbage truck while I was sitting at a red light. I drive a little VW beetle, so a big hit from a truck going fast while I was sitting still did a lot of damage. My car was wrecked, and after looking at the reviews, I decided to take it to Roan's to get fixed. They have an amazing work ethic- he worked around my schedule to fix the car, he made sure I felt comfortable in it and did not finish his work with my car until I was sure that it drove just right and until I felt comfortable with it (which truly says a lot about their business), and he completely fixed my car in less than 3 weeks.... this was amazing, considering how much damage was done. It looks brand new, and I could not be happier to have chosen Roans to fix my bug!!! read more

Great repair shop. They fixed rust repair that other ships would not touch. They got the repair done quickly and it looks great
