His reasoning was that I had driven a little way to get there and that it was his lunchtime. Even if I had paid I would be writing this review. From the first moment of our phone conversation to the time I waved goodbye, Michael's friendly and helpful tone is the kind of business I want to support.

Fast forward two years - our new Accord lost a fight with a parked truck....they came over within hours to look at the damage and send an estimate to my insurance company the same day. Two days later, the insurance adjuster agreed with the estimate and I had a check two days after that. A week later, my car is good as new - fabulous work, wonderful customer service, great staff! I would prefer to just refer friends and family to them in the future - but if I need body work, they are my choice hands-down!

He's the most honest and straight forward mechanic you could ask for. On the morning of 6/22, we called to confirm that the keys we left in the drop box had been received. We never received a call that day indicating the work had been completed, so we called again on the morning of 6/23. During that call, we were told they weren't sure why the vehicle was there and had been waiting for someone to call. We were then informed that the calibration would be completed that day. When we picked up the vehicle on 6/23, my significant other noticed that one of the windows had been left down. When he attempted to roll it up, it would not operate properly. What was especially concerning was that no one informed us of this issue before we picked up the vehicle. The window had been left open with paperwork and personal items inside the vehicle, leaving them exposed and within easy reach of anyone passing by. At a minimum, we would have expected to be notified of the issue before taking possession of the vehicle. I called the business politely to ask if anything had happened while the vehicle was in their possession so we could provide accurate information to our mechanic. I was not accusing anyone of causing the issue; I was simply looking for information. Unfortunately, the manager immediately became defensive, raised his voice, and began yelling during the conversation. Rather than speaking to me professionally, he repeatedly interrupted me, called me names, and spoke to me in a hostile and disrespectful manner. He also told me that if I came into the business to discuss the matter further, he would have me arrested. At no point was I threatening or aggressive--I was simply trying to understand what had happened to my vehicle. He hung up on me twice, and when I was finally able to speak with him again, the conversation remained hostile and unproductive. Instead of addressing a legitimate customer concern, he chose to belittle me and treat me with complete disrespect. Regardless of whether the business was responsible for the damage, customers deserve to be treated with professionalism and courtesy. The lack of communication regarding our vehicle, combined with the manager's behavior, made this an extremely frustrating experience. We have contacted our insurance company regarding the damage and will also be filing complaints with the appropriate consumer agencies. Based on our experience, I would not recommend this business. Everyone we took it to just scratched their head and said, "Jeez, I don't know. Maybe you should just get a new car." Eventually we ran into someone who had been through the same scenario. "Don Musser is the guy I took it to," he told us. We got his phone number, called to give him an idea of what to expect, and asked for a ballpark estimate. The number he gave us seemed reasonable, but I prepared myself to expect the final bill to be higher than his estimate. I know enough about bodywork to know this wasn't going to be a quick and easy job. It wasn't simply cutting out the bad metal and welding on plate, then finishwork (which is a lot of work by itself). This repair meant fabricating a new shock mounting plate with all sorts of profile precision. I was skeptical of his bid, but even at twice the price, it would still be cheaper than replacing the vehicle. We dropped off the car and he said he'd need a week. 5 days later, he called and said the car was finished. To our surprise, the total bill was only about 75% of his bid price. He said it wasn't actually as bad as he'd first thought. Now I was really skeptical. I thought, there's no way he could have done all that work for that price without doing a half-assed job. I showed up fully prepared to be unhappy with the results. I have been professionally restoring yachts for 20+ years and I have an extremely knowledgeable and critical eye when it comes to structural, fit, and finish work. I was absolutely shocked by what I saw. It was flawless. Not just the shaping of the profile and the finishwork, but structurally too. The welded plate was seamless, large enough to ensure it was welded to good steel, and it was a heavy enough gauge to take the abuse of a suspension system. Given the location of the repair, I also expected the interior to take a bit of a hit, but it was fine too. Don took a lot of care to shield the delicate molded plastics from the heat of welding. To top it off, he matched the undercoating from the driver's side wheel well so the overall repair is invisible even when compared to the other side. 5 stars all day. I don't write a lot of reviews and I can be a pain in the ass as a customer because I have very high standards, so when I say Don Musser did a great job, I hope you understand the full weight of that sentence.

Lo and behold, my AC decides to crap out during this hot, hot summer. A friend suggested a mom and pop shop near campus. After giving them a call, I was informed that they did not work on AC units. I then asked if there was any shop in the area they could suggest. The gentleman on the other line recommended Sharer's Automotive. I immediately gave them a call. The receptionist, Tracy, was so helpful and sweet. Thankfully, I was able to schedule an appointment for the same day (or else I would've had to drive back home to Maryland in the scorching heat!). Jared, the owner and mechanic, explained to me what was potentially happening with my car. He informed me that to know for sure whether or not there was a leak, he would need to place a special dye in the system. Jared flushed out the AC system and added refrigerant. I then scheduled a follow-up. I went back yesterday to have my AC checked. Jared found some minor leaks and gave me a pair of neon yellow glasses to see for myself (which was pretty cool, I might add!). Oftentimes, mechanics may push for unnecessary repairs and upsells.
