Somebody foolishly moved this business and merged it with the one miles away in the Heights - operated by different people, and comparatively awful. Don't do that again, please. Unhelpful.
What to get: Chicken Kebab and Beef Kebab.
What not to get: Ross Perot.
I thought I was going to uncover missing ancient Egyptian Gods here. But then I realized that isn't Los Perros, it's Lost Pharoahs.
I had to update this because even though the other location has really fallen off the map and is absolutely terrible this one has service just as good as ever and products that are absolutely spectacular. Definitely one of the best chicken kabobs I've ever had.
So I've been wanting to simultaneously get with Katy Perry and Christina Perri for the longest time. One is fine, fresh, fierce (she's got it on lock), and the other doesn't just own my heart, she owns an entire jar of them. That would be a special night indeed. It wouldn't be Los Perros, it'd be "Luscious Perrys." But I'd also be their Perra. Anytime.
Houston's food truck game is f***ing strong. And no H-town food truck is better than Los Perros. There are several of them in fact. The one on Washington in the Heights is *awful*. It deteriorated badly, with dry, old meat, and awful cooking and service. It should get one sar, except that it's a local business. On the very very other hand, this one is utter perfection. It is in Little Colombia in the less-frequented part of leafy suburban Richmond Ave, not far from the Galleria and/or Bellaire.
I went to get my cards read and the girl reading them was totally drunk and totally trying to get with me. I soon realized I'd be better off at Los Perros than with Lush Tarots.
Why is Los Perros so good? Well it's excellent value and utterly delicious. The name means "The Dogs", but honestly the Colombian style hot dogs are not the reason to come here. Yes, Colombian dogs are a fantastic and bizarre experience, as are Colombian burgers, and this place does a good version of both. They have quite an extensive hot dog selection, in fact, all of them very elaborate and extremely Latin. Colombian street food like Arepas are here, too. I recommend skipping all of them, to be honest. Because it's all about the chicken kebab. And the beef, but especially the chicken.
I ordered Bubble Tea after I came here but the girl was in too much of a hurry to make it and it came out awful. You're better off with Los Perros than Rushed Taros.
Now what I would get if I were you are the insaaaaanely good kebabs. We're talking Latin-style kebabs which means delicious marinaded chicken on a stick and the same thing with beef. You will have no beef with these kebabs. They are just freaking amazing. And so juicy and so tender and so perfect. One of them will fill most people up because it's just so much meat and so hot, juicy, heavy and satisfying.
I almost went to that new place opened by Springsteen and actor Robert from Meet The Parents, Deerhunter, Godfather and Taxi Driver. Then I realized I'm better off at Los Perros than "Boss DeNiro's."
Bear in mind the wait times can be very very long, especially when there are people ahead of you. The service is absolutely wonderful, though. Pretty good prices, too.
After my meal I went to one of those newly-fashionable church orgies, it was fun. But I'd still rather be at Los Perros than "Cross Harems."
