Great place to get Japanese hotdog! This place actually exceeded my expectations, the hotdog was a tiny bit too rich in flavor for me, almost tasted like a barbecue sauce of some sort, but the Japanese mayo and the caramelized onions hit the spot! I highly recommend and would come back
Such a cool place ! Best hot dog I have ever had !! So glad we stopped in!! YUM!! Quick lunch, everyone was nice, place was all lit up, very cute!!
Yooooooooooooooooooo!!!! These hot dogs are amazing. You can order your normal condiments on top but imagine sizzling split Beef hot dog grilling beside Korean caramelized diced onions. Take a warm hot dog bun slathered with cream cheese on the side, hot dog, grilled onions on top and now bam a spackle of Korean spicy sauce. As you bite expecting an explosion of piquant only to be greeted with the sweet taste on the caramelized onions then the peppery infusion starts to ramp up and you can not help but take another bite before it is all gone. This location is on East Block near Dallas street with a couple of tables, lights, music and view, but I think they have two other locations. Yo-Yo's Hot Dog should be on the list for "must-try" on the Houston scene.

I didn't realize it's literally a hot dog stand on the side of the road. The owner was so kind, and service was super quick. Truly 10/10!! Watching him make the hot dogs, and the taste are things I'll never forget! The hot dogs are HUGE, I didn't even finish both of them. I can't wait to go back to Houston so I can have some more.
Yoyo's was a frequent late night stop for me when it was still located in rice village. This was my first visit to the storefront. In terms of flavor, it hasn't changed at all and is still a perfect late night bite. However, the dog is now $9, which is a significant increase despite no changes to the food. I understand that there are increased costs with operating a brick and mortar store, but it is unfortunate. Otherwise, on the bright side, the line was not long at all and moved quickly. No seating nearby so be prepared to take to go. The workers were a highlight and super friendly!
Used to frequent them in the Rice Village area, most recently visited at their new location in EaDo area near 8th wonder on a weekday. Line wasn't as bad compare to the long queues build up in previous visits as they remain one of the most popular late night vendors. Love the toppings on a toasted bun, the caramelized onions, the curry ketchup/mayo, and the added crispy onion for that crunch. It's a great mix and one that goes great especially coming out of the bars for a late evening snack. Service has always been consistent, you can customize your options and still be served quickly. Ranks as one of the best hot dogs in Houston. (I also like the Columbian hot dog at Los Perros for the added sweetness) Overall, a great spot for your late night cravings, prices have gradually increased over the years due to inflation but remains a great cheap option. It's a bit over-hyped for a street hot dog so be aware of the lines, but well worth the visit!
Saw this on Tiktok and decided to make a quick stop before going back to the hotel. We got there at 9pm and there is only two parties in front of us. There is no menu. So, we don't really know what are the choices or pricing? Music is blasting in the background and it feels like a party. The "chef" asked, "how many?" I said "2". There is a small assembly line get cracking. 5 seconds later, I got two hot dogs. I had one bite as I'm not hungry at all. As expected, it's just a hot dog loaded with onions and sauce. I can see why it's popular as it opens till 3:30am. After a night of drinking, I would too think this hot dog is heavenly - warm and savory. $6 is a steal! But since I am totally sober and full right now, I think this $6 hot dog is just a novelty. 3 stars for the ambiance as I love a good party.

Yoyo's Hot Dog always hits the spot after a night out in Houston! Don't be intimidated by the line because it moves relatively quickly and the hot dogs are definitely worth the wait. When you get to the front where the hot dogs are dressed, let the hot dog man know how many you want. There is a veggie dog variety but the meat version is the one you wanna try anyways :) There is also cold bottled water for sale, which washes down the hot dog terrifically. A solid 5 out of 5 for this hot dog stand for its flavor combination and friendly service!

It's nothing serious but if I could pinpoint what it was, I'd probably leave it off mine. They offer water or canned soda options as beverages. Highly recommend if you're out late and want something to eat before heading home.
Visited after a concert down the street at Warehouse. I was so excited to try these hotdogs for the first time! We walked right up, no line and ordered. The person taking our order was so welcoming and friendly. I told him it was our first time trying, and he said he wanted to make sure we enjoyed our experience and gave us our drinks on the house. This might be controversial but here goes...the food is good. It's hard to explain- I would go back if I'm in the area and there's not a long wait but I'm not a devotee, sadly. I give it 5 stars because the food was good & service was excellent. The little crunchies on top tore up the roof of my mouth like it was captain crunch but I feel that was "user error" lol

Across the stand is an outdoor patio area with benches. I was skeptical about this place. After all, they only serve hot dogs. However, the hype surrounding Yoyo's is accurate. This is no ordinary hot dog. It made my taste buds tingle and my stomach was in gastronomical paradise! The sauce and onions heighten the flavor. The bun is buttery, toasted to perfection, and not too thick. The best surprise was the cream cheese-you are instantly transported to another dimension as it merges with the juicy beef. Overall, service was fast, the hot dogs were just the right size, and I cannot wait to experience this again.

Came here because my BF wanted to show me what his late nights at Rice were like after a few beers. I was tempted to order more than just the hot dog, but we had a heavy lunch. I swear the Bulgogi Fries were screaming my name, though. Yoyo's Hotdog - Yoyo--YO. This thing slaps. I definitely craved a Coke or a beer while eating this because that salt kicks your taste buds' *ss. The caramelized onions paired with the crunchy onions were a double whammy that could topple a few hot dog title holders. The real winner, though, was the sauce--definitely something Asian-inspired. But hey, I'm running on five hours of sleep, and that's the best my smooth brain could come up with to describe the experience. Thanks for coming to my TED Talk. read more
In Houston on a trip and was recommended to try this place out while I'm here. Service is super fast and the customer service is great! I got their famous hotdog with spicy mayo, french onion, sautéed onions, and hot sauce. (That's how it comes standard) don't get me wrong it's definitely a lot going on from the flavors and the messiness of the dog, but the flavors balance out very well and the all beef hot dog is delicious. There's no spice from the mayo or hot sauce so if you don't like spice you'll be fine. I also tried their bulgogi fries which came with bulgogi meat, jalepenos, cheese and cilantro. My first reaction was it was delicious but it wouldn't be something I would get again, but after I kept eating it I realized this is actually really good and now when I go back I'll definitely try it again. If you're out and about in EaDo and see this food cart, STOP WHAT YOU'RE DOING and go here immediately. This is the greatest Korean hot dog you'll ever have. I just found out about it myself last weekend. They only make them one way. No substitutes or changes. Just get in line, take yours, pay for it, ENJOY! Make sure to grab a drink too as it's a mouthful and you'll need to cleanse your pallet afterwards. read more

Literally the best hot dog I have ever had. We got this hot dog after coming out of the comedy club near midnight. There was a small cart/stand open and I am very glad we waited the 15-20 minutes to get Yoyo's Hot Dog. Absolutely worth it. read more
We went on a Saturday night right before it opened (7:15-7:20ish) and the line went all the way to the next street! Everyone is COMMITTED to getting Yoyo's, as were we, and we waited about 45 mins-1 hour until we got to our turn. The line ends up moving pretty fast though, and if you have somebody to talk to, time flies by. There is only 1 kind of hot dog, which IMO is like a bratwurst, and it was hefty and hearty. Also comes with caramelized onions, crispy onions, curry ketchup, spicy mayo, and cream cheese. As you wait in line, you'll be able to see his team make each component, and he'll drizzle the ketchup and mayo on himself prior to serving you. Each one is $5, and we left with 4. You will definitely be full after eating one of these. The music he plays adds to the environment. Flavors were interesting and unique. Very cool to see his entire set up; it's literally the back of his van and a separate stand, yet he has customers coming back all the time. Overall, unique experience, good hot dog, and a fun opportunity to spend time with good company. read more
Seriously the best hot dogs ever and I don't even like hot dogs If you are partying in midtown or in rice village, this is the place to get late night snacks! I definitely recommend getting all the fillings so that you get to taste all the flavors! Yo-Yo's is a must visit. The only have two menu items, beef hotdog & veggie hotdog. I've only ever tried the beef hotdog as it comes with all of the toppings and it is delicious. They add some sort of caramelized onions, bread crumbs, and two different sauces. The bread crumbs are always crispy and add the perfect amount of crunch. The hotdogs are very messy while eating so I'd recommend grabbing a few napkins. The staff is always very friendly even when they're busy. Their locations are based out of a food cart so there's no direct seating, but given the concept of yo-yo's I don't think it needs any seating. The only downside I can think of is them not being open earlier in the day, but either way, they are definitely worth a visit. read more

While I have profound memories of staying in line to get a late night snack at Yoyo's back in college, have to admit it is not as great as I have hyped it up to be or remembered. The hotdog has a lot of flavor but taste a bit heavy, one will fill you up. The Yoyo magic might only be there when you already have couple drinks in. read more
I was in rice village and stumbled upon this long line for Yoyo's. Didn't know what it was but then peeped over at the front of their cart: hot dogs! Looked yo-yo up online and they're opened Thursday-Saturday from 8pm-3:30am, and I suspected that this place was the go-to drunchies spot. Came back on a Saturday night around 11:50pm and the line was double the line I saw the first time around (Thursday at 8pm). I would not recommend coming right after drinking because there's no restroom around LOL. We waited 45 minutes and got 2 dogs. The line moves consistently but I think it's dependent on how many dogs each party orders for the workers to prep them. The hot dog lived up to the hype! The sausage was really tasty with the crispy onion stacked on top. Bun was also toasted to perfection. If you have friends to wait in this long line with you, yoyo's is worth it. read more

Waited in line at 8 PM and got my hot dogs at 9:56 PM. I expected a burst of flavor but unfortunately, it was very salty and just one note. The crispy onions added a nice and crunchy touch but it's not enough in my opinion. Yoyo aka Danny Kim sets up his speaker to blast out techno music so it feels like a dance party. Tips: order 10 hot dogs or Uber eats to skip the line. read more
I've heard so much hype about Yoyo's hot dogs and they definitely did not disappoint! Honestly, I had been putting off coming to Yoyo's just because I heard the line is usually very long and their hours are limited. However, one day I was in the area, and figured today is the day! I got there about 10 minutes before they opened and the line was already wrapped around the building, but it surprisingly moved very fast, which I was pleasantly surprised about! We got some hot dogs, and even asked for some "to go" to take home to my parents and they wrapped them up nicely and everything! The hotdogs themselves were great - I loved the "jajang" flare they add to the hot dog topping. The only thing for me was that I thought the hot dog and everything with it was a *little* too salty. I definitely needed to eat that with a soda or something. But otherwise - totally great and would definitely recommend! read more
Yoyo. I'm so sorry that I waited so long to let you in my life. It has truly been my loss. I decided to join some friends and try Yoyo for the first time. After looking at Yelp reviews, I asked for mine all the way. *** insert firework video here *** Everything about these delectables was on point. It is a flavor that was engineered to wow. Aside from the long line, I loved everything. The long line is just the price you have to pay for this awesomeness. Absolutely cannot wait to go back!!! I'm sure I'm. It the only one who has seen Yoyo's pop up all over social media. As I love just two blocks away in rice Village, I finally decided to walk over and given them a try. I headed over in a Thursday night around 7:45 (they start serving at 8pm), and when I got there at 7:50 there was already quite a sizeable line formed waiting for these hotdogs. They had loud music going from two speakers and it seemed to create a nice atmosphere. They began serving promptly at 8, and the wait wasn't too bad. I had my food by about 8:25 (there were several people in line who ordered upwards of 6-10 hotdogs for their supposed group) so there were moments I had to wait a bit longer in line just so they could gather the orders for those in front of me. Overall, the wait wasn't really all that bad. As far as the hotdog... was it good? Yes, it really was. Was I absolutely wowed like I expected to be from the hype everyone has given them on social media? Not really. The flavors are unique but work together. I especially liked the crunchy topping, although I have no idea what exactly it was. Overall, I'd recommend checking this place out and having a hotdog or two if you haven't ever been. I'd likely come back again if I didn't have to wait more than 10 or so minutes. Maybe the wait dies down at some point of the night? read more

Got a Yoyo Hotdog after a nice back workout at the 24 HF seconds away. It was amazing as always n very delicious. It's the only hotdog down here that can beat Becks Prime, bc nowhere else here can. The meat was thick, juicy, beefy and very tasty. The black mushrooms, fried garlic, spicy ketchup, cream cheese, etc all went very well with the hotdog n added extra awesome flavor with some extra texture too. Imo, Yoyo Hotdogs are the best hotdogs in the South. read more
I've been here in the past and my experience was much more enjoyable then. I arrived around 10:45 PM and the line was long and filled with plenty of patrons and families looking to eat some delicious hot dogs. After waiting about 45 mins in a line that seemed to never move, my mom and I made it to the front. Once you make it to the front you think how in the hell does it take so long. The interaction is literally less than a minute and most of the hotdogs are already made just sitting waiting to be served. The owner seemed to be tired of dealing with the hum drum of the teenagers and young crowd (which this establishment attracts). I recommend he step away from the business... what happened to the brick and mortar location opening??? Anyways, I rate this 3 stars because something about the hotdog was salty and not very pleasant. Additionally, the hot dog was very rich and two are more than enough for ANY person of ANY size!!! I was disappointed compared to my fist experience years ago pre-pandemic. It seems as if something about the sauces, wieners, or quality has changed. They boasts they are Nathan weiners, and I don't care for them so maybe this is the case. Imo I could make something of this quality at home. I would recommend this to any tourist traveling through Houston because Rice Village is a cute urban area to check out and this is just a typical tourist spot. FYI: pay in cash!!! If you've never had Yo-yo's hot dogs, make trying one the next item on your to do list! These drool and crave worthy creations are only available Thursday-Saturday after 8 pm, so plan your outing accordingly. There's no menu, but his signature hot dog is all you need. It's made with a juicy hot dog, split lengthwise and covered with hoisin caramelized onions, crunchy fried onions, honey mayo, curry ketchup, and sriracha, all in a potato bun coated with a thin layer of cream cheese. The flavors all blend super well together and make each bite exciting! The lines can be long (think: an hour wait time or more), but it is so worth the wait! Bring a friend or two to chat, and before you know you it, you'll all be enjoying hot dog bliss. read more

people love coming to Houston to get Yoyo's hotdogs. its a houston thing . Take it over Detroit style coney dogs or Chicago style hotdogs all day. I get it all the way and usually take it to the bars around it to enjoy with a drink.Sometimes they get busy so try to go off hours or right before the bars close at 2am to avoid lines read more
After roaming around MFAH for an hour, we decided to check out this hot dog cart. I've lived in houston all these years and have never tried it yet. We came here pretty early, considering they open late. I already enjoyed the vibe of people waiting in line, music playing from their boom box radio, and the smell of caramelized onions wafting in the air. We were hungry, so we definitely ordered more than one hot dog. Lol. For $5 each, the hot dogs were pretty filling. We got all the fixings on our hot dogs, except the cream cheese. If you like cream cheese, you can keep it on your hot dog. I enjoyed these hot dogs because of the snap and flavor of the sausages, as well as the generous amount of grilled, caramelized onions on top. In actuality, these were the predominant flavors I tasted. All the other fixings weren't noticeable to me. We ate our hot dogs on a wooden chair around the corner of this street cart. Others sat on the curb of the parking lot. So, it was a very chill atmosphere, which I loved. Overall, I'd come back here to get my hot dog fix in. Sodas or water were $1 each. This hot dog cart is located in the parking lot on Amherst street across from Starbucks. They take cash, credit, and Apple Pay. Yay. read more
What a great little late night snack. They're located in a parking lot and only during evening hours. The most fun is waiting in line with your buddies. Most people are coming from some kind of gathering so it's fun to just people watch. This little gem itself plays good music so you can't help but jam while you wait for your dog. They take both card and cash and are fast at getting orders our. They have a whole system and it's fun to watch. The dog itself is pretty darn good. They run $4 per dog and comes topped with crispy onions, honey mayo, grilled onions, sirracha, Curry ketchup, spicy mustard, and cream cheese. You can of course opt out on any of the toppings but fully loaded is definitely the way to go in my opinion. Tip don't share, I made the mistake of sharing and I had to get another.... so do yourself a favor and get one full one for yourself. read more
