Came here because my BF wanted to show me what his late nights at Rice were like after a few beers. I was tempted to order more than just the hot dog, but we had a heavy lunch. I definitely craved a Coke or a beer while eating this because that salt kicks your taste buds' *ss. In Houston on a trip and was recommended to try this place out while I'm here. Service is super fast and the customer service is great! I got their famous hotdog with spicy mayo, french onion, sautéed onions, and hot sauce. (That's how it comes standard) don't get me wrong it's definitely a lot going on from the flavors and the messiness of the dog, but the flavors balance out very well and the all beef hot dog is delicious. There's no spice from the mayo or hot sauce so if you don't like spice you'll be fine. I also tried their bulgogi fries which came with bulgogi meat, jalepenos, cheese and cilantro. My first reaction was it was delicious but it wouldn't be something I would get again, but after I kept eating it I realized this is actually really good and now when I go back I'll definitely try it again. As you bite expecting an explosion of piquant only to be greeted with the sweet taste on the caramelized onions then the peppery infusion starts to ramp up and you can not help but take another bite before it is all gone. This location is on East Block near Dallas street with a couple of tables, lights, music and view, but I think they have two other locations. Yoyo's was a frequent late night stop for me when it was still located in rice village. This was my first visit to the storefront. In terms of flavor, it hasn't changed at all and is still a perfect late night bite. However, the dog is now $9, which is a significant increase despite no changes to the food. I understand that there are increased costs with operating a brick and mortar store, but it is unfortunate. Otherwise, on the bright side, the line was not long at all and moved quickly. Saw this on Tiktok and decided to make a quick stop before going back to the hotel. We got there at 9pm and there is only two parties in front of us. There is no menu. So, we don't really know what are the choices or pricing? Music is blasting in the background and it feels like a party. The "chef" asked, "how many?" I said "2". The reviews are not lying, this is probably one of the best hot dogs you'll enjoy. It's food stand in the Rice Village area that's usually open at Night on the weekends. I came once before around 2AM and had to wait about an hour and even today We came right before 11PM and waited about an hour. That should tell you all you need to know about how good it is. Pretty sure it's made with beef but I know they offer a vegan option as well. My only downside is I feel like there was some charred onions or garlic mixed in that had a slight after taste to me. Everyone is COMMITTED to getting Yoyo's, as were we, and we waited about 45 mins-1 hour until we got to our turn. I'm sure I'm. It the only one who has seen Yoyo's pop up all over social media. As I love just two blocks away in rice Village, I finally decided to walk over and given them a try. I headed over in a Thursday night around 7:45 (they start serving at 8pm), and when I got there at 7:50 there was already quite a sizeable line formed waiting for these hotdogs. They had loud music going from two speakers and it seemed to create a nice atmosphere. They began serving promptly at 8, and the wait wasn't too bad. I had my food by about 8:25 (there were several people in line who ordered upwards of 6-10 hotdogs for their supposed group) so there were moments I had to wait a bit longer in line just so they could gather the orders for those in front of me. Overall, the wait wasn't really all that bad. As far as the hotdog... was it good? Yes, it really was. Was I absolutely wowed like I expected to be from the hype everyone has given them on social media? Not really. The flavors are unique but work together. I especially liked the crunchy topping, although I have no idea what exactly it was. Overall, I'd recommend checking this place out and having a hotdog or two if you haven't ever been.
