I recently moved from Indooroopilly but in the 6 months or so from the opening of NKB Express to when I moved, this was a regular choice for my friends and I. The interior is very authentic of the classic American diner from the counter, to the booth seating and the presentation of the meals. It is very accessible as it is just across the road from the Indooroopilly train station. Parking in the centre can be a bit of a challenge however. The meals are amazing! If you are in the mood for a serious burger, I highly recommend this place. They are filling and tasty. My favourite was the mushroom wagyu beef burger which as I recall was called the 'Central Park' or something similar. The chocolate shake was also a solid staple of mine. Prices are standard and they also do takeaway. It is definitely worth dining in for the full experience. It can get quite busy so avoid peak meal times or be prepared to wait for a table. If you are a fan of modern gourmet food and the inner-City lifestyle and you have not been to NKB Express, this should be your next stop! I'll be back.

The waitresses on duty were so lovely and polite. She explained the flag system they have. Just pop the flag atop the menu holder and it signals to them you would like to ask them a question / order / ask them the meaning of life. This worked fairly well with but a handful of patrons, but I do wonder how it goes when they're at capacity. Defeating the very purpose of dining in an American-style venue, I ordered the Mad Dog Tortilla Salad - grilled chicken, mixed lettuce, smoky bacon, tomatoes, avocado, corn, beans (green), goats cheese, sour cream, house made dressing and tortilla chips. It's a hefty salad and it's probably an illusion to think it's remotely healthy, but I did figure it was more virtuous than a burger or hoagie. As far as salads go, it was filling, a good balance of all ingredients but, and this is entirely personal preference, something this robust needs to be served in a bowl not a silver platter. I winkled my nose at my DH's choice of Long Island Iced Tea, because I was being a snob as that drink was my 'young, stupid, cheap, and often watered-down preferred drink' - but I am pleased when I tasted it -- good mix and definitely not watered down (just don't let the ice melt, k?). We also ended our meal sharing 'Mum's Milk Punch' (my original desire for one of their Chocolate Peanut Butter milkshake was denied by DH - he's looking out for me). The cafe is probably your standard greasy spoon but show up on any given Friday night and the place will be overflowing with patrons - because every week there's an informal meet-up of the city's motor enthusiasts that results in hundreds of cars of all types taking up the car park in front and behind the shopping centre. Like-minded boffins gather to admire, look under bonnets and chew the fat on their favourite topic - cars. But this review is about food, so I'll tell you that Munch Inn always has plenty of staff to cope on big nights, and an efficient ordering system in place. Chips are popular of course but I recommend the burgers - my Aussie was beautiful, and great value for money at less than $10. So big I had trouble wrapping my laughing gear around it, I nonetheless gobbled it up and my hubby's standard hamburger didn't last long either. There are several other cafes and takeaways in the shopping centre that cater for the car aficionados on a Friday evening, but Munch Inn is where it's all at. Highly recommended for a good burger and a way of taking part in a little-known Brisbane subculture.

I was meeting someone for lunch on a sunny Saturday afternoon. The outdoor seating area was already pretty full, but that's okay, we were going picnic style. As I waited for my friend to arrive I noticed the eat in servings were huge, and they all looked delicious. We just went with a couple pieces of barra and some chips, and yes, it was a very healthy serving (we didn't finish the chips, only I finished the huge slab of fish). There are plenty of picnic tables across the road facing the water, but take a blanket along and spread out in the shade under a tree.

So after a few weeks, on a night when my wife and I couldn't be bothered cooking we made an order. For two pieces of fish, chips, calamari and some potato scallops we paid under $20. We went down to picked up our order and found that the street outside was stacked with illegally parked cars and that The Codfather was pumping with people. My wife and I agreed that this looked like a good indication about the food we were about to eat. When my name was called out, the woman at the counter was really friendly. I was surprised when she said, with no second though to it, that we were new in the area. Happy with the in store experience we went home. We unwrapped the paper and were pleased to see a plethora of golden fried seafood and potato goods. The food smelled and tasted as brilliantly as it looked. The highlight was the potato scallops in batter, delicious. Needless to say, we are considered locals now.

They did have a Mrs. Clinton burger but it was chicken and didn't seem to be as tasty as the Trump burger. Any who, the Trump burger was pulled beef (like shredded pot roast), cheddar cheese, thick-cut bacon, seasoned french fries, BBQ sauce, garlic truffle aioli and thinly sliced Cornichons. The result? DELICIOUS!!! I paired this magnificent burger with their garlic and herb "chips" - which were also fantastically delicious! Overall, great service and a great meal!
