I have never before written a review about anything, but now feel compelled to do so after having such a wonderful experience working with Rob and Pam Schabatka, realtors with ReMax of Sedona. In late 2012 my wife and I had made the big decision to pick up and move from Georgia to the Sedona area in Arizona. After a few days of playing on the internet searching numerous internet real estate listings, I reluctantly filled out a short request form on a listing that looked interesting. I say "reluctantly" because I really hate dealing with sales people and that includes most realtors. This was on a Sunday, so I knew it would be Monday or later before I would hear back from anyone. To my surprise a man called me within an hour and introduced himself as Rob Schabatka. I quickly advised Rob that I was just looking around and that our move might not be for several more years. My main concern was that I not mislead the salesman and have him calling me on a daily basis trying to sell me something. Rob immediately told me that he totally understood and would not be a pest. He told me he would not contact me, but would wait for me to call him anytime I had questions or wanted to set up an appointment. He simply asked us to call him whenever we were going to make a trip to Sedona to look at houses and assured us that he would arrange his calendar to meet our schedule. Rob stuck to his word and never contacted me until I emailed him with the dates for our first visit. After several more trips we finally purchased our house in May of 2013, with Rob guiding us the entire time. He always had time to drive us all over the Sedona area and even over to Cottonwood, some fifteen miles away, to show us any home we expressed interest in. Rob was always glad to give advice when asked for it but, most importantly, he let us, the prospective home owner, have plenty of time and space to look around on their own. The advice that he gave us was always good and is based not only on his many years as a real estate agent, but also on his years as a contractor in the Sedona area. Being a southerner raised by parents and grandparents who believe that all one should need is a man's hand shake or promise, my view of business and other dealings has always reflected those same principles. And in my dealings with Rob and Pam I was not disappointed. Our total experience with this couple was pleasant and honest. We never parted company feeling that we had been misled. Rob's word is as good as gold. His approach to business is as it should be - to represent his clients with integrity. There are no hidden agendas with Rob. He represents his clients and no one else. This is such a refreshing thing to experience in today's world. Today we live in Cottonwood and meet Rob and Pam regularly for dinner. I have no hesitation recommending Rob and Pam Schabatka to anyone wishing to buy or sell real estate. I can do this because I know what kind of people they are and know that Rob and Pam will always represent their clients with honesty and integrity. You just cannot ask for anything more. read more

Rob and Pam Schabatka are both friendly, professional, and very experienced. At each stage of buying our house the Schabatka experience comes through. When viewing houses Rob, as an ex-builder in Sedona, was able to explain the pros and cons of each type of house and the materials used throughout. Usually Rob knew who the builder was before he even read it in the listing. His many years of living in Sedona are invaluable. He did not just move to Sedona and then decide to sell real estate. He has lived in Sedona all of his life and is intimately familiar with all of the streets in all of the subdivisions of both Sedona proper and the Village of Oak Creek. As far as our personal experience goes, Rob was patient, honest, and accommodating. We were in Sedona for only 1 week and Rob met us everyday to look at many houses each day. As he said it often it must be his motto, "I don't want you to just buy a house, I want you to buy the right house for you." More than once he told us we could do better than a house we were excited about. He was so right. Ultimately, he was with us on Thanksgiving Day when we put in an offer. How many realtors are going to do that? During the negotiations on price, rather than push for the higher sales price he encouraged us to offer less. Once we had a contract, he lined up a great inspection, referred us to mortgage and insurance agents, and left no detail unattended to. He returns all calls promptly and no question is too small or too dumb to ask him. He continued to return our calls even throughout his vacation. Now that we are in our home, we still call Rob for referrals when we need trades people. He knows them all and keeps us from making a big mistake. My wife and I recently purchased a vacation home in Sedona and selected Rob Schabatka as our agent.
