I was told to give it a try at home because it always looks different after a shower.... I hate making scenes so I just went home to check it my self and thinking worst case scenario I would just go to another hairdresser to fix it. Well, after a shower and a blowdry by myself I noticed there was a whole in my hair!!! He chopped it!!!! I ended up giving him a call and was told they have a no refund policy... no wonder, they would go broke. He ended up admitting his mistake and only apologized after I asked him to, and offered a new haircut... but of course, I would never ever let these people touch my hair again, and if you are thinking of it, DONT. Never ever go there if you have any appreciation for your image and money. This is fraud if anything, they advertise themselves in a way it makes you believe they are professionals when in reality they simply don't know what they are doing, please someone give them a scholarship so they can actually educate themselves. I've had the same hairdresser in San Francisco for more than 25 years. But, I decided, while in Amsterdam, that I needed a change and just across the street from our rented apartment was Coup d'Etat and something told me that I would be happy going there. So, I made an appointment. I checked in at the appointed hour. I was introduced to Nick who would be cutting my hair. He was pleasant (and very handsome, btw) and exactly on time. We talked about what I was looking for in a new cut and he provided excellent feedback and suggestions. After a great wash/head massage, he began the cut. He took his time and, while his methods and utensils were a bit different than I was used to, he gave me--quite simply--the BEST haircut I think I've ever had! It was a total transformation, perfect for my face, age appropriate. . . I just cannot be happier. After I posted photos of the new look on FaceBook, I received more likes and comments than I've every gotten before. Nick - I hope you will see this. I don't know if I really told you how much I love this cut. I doubt anyone in San Francisco can duplicate it but we took photos from all angles to show to whoever cuts it next at home. They can expensive, sure, but most places won't charge more than $20 for a basic cut. While cruising around Amsterdam (where I recently moved to), I was shocked to see prices of €30 or so. After some exploring, I found Kapsalon Bianco and went in for a snipperoo. (It's okay for me to use such terms, don't worry.) My cut was quick and to-the-point. Most recently I went in for a mere trim and somehow had my sideburns whacked off and several months of growth from the top of my head and bangs removed when I told the stylist not to touch anything but the bottom of the back of my hair for a clean up of it. When I initially called Salon B for my first appointment I asked to have someone who is good with women's short hair work on me and was told that everyone in the salon is trained to work on all types of hair. Let me state unequivocally that I have not found anyone in the salon who specializes in short women's hairdos. A few employ the motto of "do no harm", but I have now sworn to never enter this salon, even if only for a trim.

When I moved to Amsterdam, I made an appointment for the Centrum location, and was very pleased with Fleur, my stylist. She knew exactly what I wanted with the cut and color. I was in and out in about an hour and a half, and at €100, I was mostly satisfied. They're also young but that's not to say they're not experienced. They're actually very professional and will do what you ask if you're very particular about your hair. If you are feeling lucky and ask for their opinion, they will style your hair in a way that suits your face and head. I'd say their styles are also a bit edgy and hip (you're in a record store/hair salon after all!). Overall I've been satisfied with my cut every time I've been here.
