Wow - terrible service from this establishment. We made an appointment 2 weeks ago to have our vacation home furnace serviced when we planned to be in town. We called today, the day before our appointment, and they said they weren't sure their guy was going to make it. We asked if they could verify and call us back to let us know. We waited several hours, no call back. We finally called and they said - nope - not coming and won't be available until after the first of the year. Well, that's not helpful. We don't live here! Which is why we made the damn appointment. We will take our business elsewhere. read more

Very hit and miss. Have had them show up on time with great service, and waited forever for any kind of response or update with nothing. Limited options in Lincoln City, so you might not be able to get competition for a bid, or you might not need another. read more

Made a duct cleaning appointment. -They did NOT call to confirm the appointment. -They did NOT show up for the appointment. -We had to call them to "learn" the technician called in sick with allergies. The female that answered the phone was more interested in arguing it "not being her fault" than in trying to reschedule at a reduced rate. read more

i called to make an appointment at least 10 days before they were to come. said they would be at our house between 11 and 1 on the appointment date. at 12:50 i called to see if they were coming and was told by a lady that the tech was about 2 hours away. she also said she would call him to get an accurate time. she kept saying it wasnt her fault but i hadnt even suggested it was anyones fault! i hadnt heard from her so at 3:45 i called again. she had nothing to say except "i dont know and its not my fault". she never called back and the tech never showed after i wasted an entire day waiting on them. there are other hvac companies in lincoln city and thats where im going. robben is unreliable and not at all customer friendly. just read some of their other reviews and you wont want to use them either. read more

They just closed, we were waiting for a furnace tune up , were told we were next on the list and then they sold the business, quit answering the phone and then it was disconnected. Before that they were great. Not now. read more

Had a gas fireplace repaired and cleaned just today. Communication with the company by phone was easy and clear. Technician showed up on time, was efficient as well as informative. Price was fair. I will use them again. read more

Why we gave them 4 stars the first time is beyond me. We no longer own the beach home or fireplace now, thank God. Having to deal with the flakey contractors down there was no fun. read more

In mid-October 2019 I learned that the water heater in the house I'd purchased two months previously in Depoe Bay stopped working. The person who sold me the house was the builder who had used Robben Heating to install the existing water heater. Robben had stickers all over the old water heater so I chose to call them for the repair. Because this happened on a weekend I had an emergency call out. Robben employee Vince came out and after examining the water heater told me that to repair it would be almost as expensive as just replacing it. I told him to put in a request to replace the water heater and provided him with the lock box code so he could get back in to install the new heater. After not hearing anything the next week from Robben I called them and learned that Vince never told anyone about my request for a replacement. I talked with several employees over the course of this fiasco to include Vince, Pam, Brittany, Ron and Jessica. They were each very nice to talk to but they seemed incapable of resolving anything. So when I called to follow up after Vince came out I gave specific instructions about what I wanted....a new water heater that needed to be installed soon. I was advised this would happen. I asked for a call back letting me know the work had been done. Another week passed and nothing. I called again and spoke with Ron who told me that my file showed nothing about my wanting a new water heater. He apologized and said he'd order it and it should only take two days to get it. Another week goes by. I call again and speak with Brittany or Pam who tells me that they heard Ron talking about the installation and thought it would happen that day. Several more days go by. I call again. Brittany tells me that the owner Greg was personally going to do the install. She said he'd gotten busy and hadn't been able to get out to the property to do the work. Brittany promised she'd call by the days end to let me know what had happened....and to no ones surprise I didn't get that call. So after a few more days the water heater actually gets installed. I spend the weekend at the house after that. The following Thursday Brittany calls and leaves me a voice mail indicating she'd almost forgot to call but that during the installation Greg had discovered a dangerous venting situation that needed to immediately be addressed and required another call out. In the middle of all of this I call and ask Brittany to call my home warranty people and to provide them with license and bonding information and some details about what happened and what kind of water heater would be installed as a replacement. Brittany told me she'd "get right on it". I didn't learn until 2/23/2020 that she never made the call (which may prevent me from getting reimbursed by the home warranty company. For months I called Robben and asked for my bill so I could pay and get reimbursed. Brittany told me that she'd sent me a bill but the mail must have lost it. I asked to her to send it again and confirmed my address. I also asked that she e-mail it to me. No e-mail and no bill. I call again after a couple of weeks. Pam tells me that the person who does the bills is on vacation and I should get a bill shortly. Nothing. I call again. Pam tells me that they haven't gotten around to sending the bill yet. I called eight times about the bill. Finally in mid-February I get the bill. I noticed that the date on the bill is 12/17/19. Two days later I get a voice message from Jessica wanting to know if I plan on paying the bill and if I'd like to make arrangements. I called her back and told her how frustrating this had all been. She sounded sympathetic. I told her that I would never ever recommend Robben to anyone for work. I told her I'd notified my realtor to not provide Robben as a service provider either. I paid the bill. Several days later I got another bill from Robben. This one was marked "past due". I checked my bank account and found that Robben had already cashed my check. How these people are still in business is beyond me. If I ever have another water heater problem I will happily drag someone from Portland in to do the repair over putting up with the circus known as Robben Heating. read more

Needed an estimate on ductwork so made an appointment for 2 weeks out. No one showed up, no one called. Called them and they sent someone out the following week. That's the last I heard from them...called after 3 days and asked when I could expect an estimate - receptionist said she would leave a message with the owner. A week later, still nothing from them. Called again and was told same as before - she would leave a message with owner. After 2 weeks I called again, same response. I understand that Lincoln City is relatively isolated and local professionals are at a premium, so they can pick and choose the jobs they wish to perform, but what I don't understand is their base rudeness and unprofessionalism. A simple phone call with a 'no, we will not be providing an estimate and we're not interested in doing the work' would have taken less than a minute of their time, instead they kept me waiting for a response that never came. All I can say to anyone who hires them is, good luck, I hope you have a better experience, but beware as they obviously don't value clients and you are at the mercy of their whims. Personally I'll never look to Robben for work on my heating system ever again. read more

these guys are the best. they always serve w/ a smile, and probably a joke or two. We have rented a vehicle from Robben AND had our chimney cleaned and repaired by them. Such an odd array of services, but at this point, when there's a question of 'who in town does______?' the answer is usually Robben's. We've really enjoyed every interaction that we've had w/ these folks; very kind and professional. read more

Robben Heating of Lincoln City, OR installed a furnace three years ago in the condo we recently purchased. 1. They did not get a permit for the furnace as required. 2. They did not follow Lennox installation instructions. 3. They violated several building codes, including letting acidic condensate drip into the crawlspace next to the furnace fresh-air intake. The firebox in our three-year-old furnace is rusted and corroded and must be replaced. When we asked Robben to repair the unit, they would not accept responsibility for their poor installation. Because of our lack of confidence in Robben, we have purchased a new furnace from another vendor even though our furnace should have been good for many more years. read more

We just had Robben's install a ductless heat pump and a gas tankless whole house water heater. I'm impressed with their fast service. Greg was there in an hour to give us a quote and the whole system was installed within 2 weeks. The installation was great. We couldn't even tell that they had been there except for the new equipment. Greg returned as soon as we were back in town to show us how to operate the system. When there was a minor problem with the hot water system, a service tech was there within an hour. (The problem was with a flow restrictor on the sink faucet, not with the water heater.) Robben's are the best! Robben's also has an excellent working relationship with the gas company so the new gas meter was installed quickly. If you need heating and air conditioning, Robben's is the place to call. read more

For me, not a good choice. Accepted a bid for gutter replacement, told it would be two weeks, after three weeks I call them and am told sorry it will be next week, two weeks later they show up. 8 weeks later I am still finding chunks and parts of the old gutters. They email a bill, I email back with a question that is never answered, then I get a past due bill in the mail. I also bought a tankless water heater and a home heating unit both from them that both need servicing, I paid them for the gutters but won't use them for anything else. I hope everyone else fairs better. read more

When this company was Robben & Sons, we had them replace a heat pump, repair a furnace, install gutters and other jobs on our coastal home. However, in 2016, apparently there was a modification in ownership resulting in the WORST SERVICE EVER. Previously, we had dealt with Office Manager Sherie Lynn, Marta and even Greg Robben himself. The current office manager, Tracy Berry, approaches customer service like Frau Blücher, from Young Frankenstein. Our home is a vacation rental & we were promised service on a certain day, arranging for our property manager to be on site. Several phone calls & hours later, it was determined the technician was not only not at the right house, but had been sent to a city 40 minutes away (Tillamook). The issues with this company resulted in 2 rental reservation mishaps, which could have easily been avoided. There is HUGE room for improvement with regards to communication, scheduling, crew organization, as well as professional & polite service to customers. As evidence, this company held the check written as payment to them for over 5 months! Look elsewhere for your HVAC needs, is our advice! read more

This company's administrative support is very shoddy. Supposedly worked on my rental without getting authorization from me. Couldn't get a straight answer out of them or the renter. They had the wrong mailing and email address for me but griped about the bill not being paid. When I asked for details (who and when authorized the service), they even had the wrong service date. Owner (Greg Robben) admitted to only "assuming" they were authorized to do the work after talking to the renter, but he still wanted to stick me with the bill. I paid it because I didn't have the time or energy to hassle with them. But beware, they don't know the meaning of customer service. read more
