I acknowledge that our heating system is complex. Over time, we have paid thousands of dollars to Mill Creek in attempts to manage and repair the system. Last week, when the system was not functioning, two technicians came out and worked on the issue. They were professional and courteous, and we appreciated their efforts. However, the next morning the same problem occurred, and the house was again without heat. When I called to report the issue, my first call was routed to an answering service and I did not receive a return call. I called again and reached someone at the business. When I explained that the system was still not working and the person responsible for paying the bills was understandably upset, the woman who answered responded by saying, " That doesn't matter to me." I found this response dismissive and completely inappropriate, particularly given the amount of money we have spent with your company and the urgency of the heating issue. As a result of both the unresoved issues and this interaction, we will not be using Mill Creek again, nor recommending your services to others. read more

Every person that I have interacted with at Mill Creek has been incredible. From the estimator to the front desk to the installation team, all fantastic. I had a 40-year-old furnace in my house and I wanted to upgrade to have AC. Justin walked me through every possible option that I had and explained the differences between the options (including long-term, and short-term savings). They were able to look up any discounts and rebate programs with my electric and gas company and apply those. I never felt pressured to buy anything or to pick one option over the other. I ended up replacing the entire unit and opting for a heat pump. I have a family member that does HVAC in another state, and I asked him to review my estimates to make sure I wasn't being overcharged or ripped off. He said that all of the estimates were priced right where they should be and there wasn't anything I was being offered that I didn't need. I'm very happy with Mill Creek. 10/10. read more

Absolutely rip off. Got it for energy efficiency and we have solar panels on top of that and our electric bill comes our 300 or + every month. The furnace running constantly and everything they come to do "maintenance service check" it's usually almost 200 for them to do a reset in and out in 30 min. We been with them for 10 years++ and cringe every time they come by to fix the problem temporarily to have the same problem again. So if they could just fix the issue so the energy efficient furnace would save us some money and not eat out the electricity or our wallet for them just to show face to do a reboot and leave and charge anywhere from 150 to 200+$$$ read more

Recommend! I have Mill Creek out twice a year to inspect and maintain my HVAC system. This story is a good example of why that's a good plan. With our mild spring, I hadn't noticed the fan wasn't working properly, Michael discovered the problem during routine maintenance. He explained what wasn't working and stayed after the problem and fixed it. Creative and professional. The entire MC team sought an answer, after being unable to obtain a replacement fan control board from the usual sources. My 10 year old, had been named "obsolete" by the manufacturer. Everyone at Mill Creek is awesome, Michael was especially kind and patient with my frustration. They stayed true to the original quote. Having your HVAC out of service in the middle of an ice storm or a heat wave is not my idea of a good time. read more

The first hot day of the year and we find our air isn't working. The folks at Mill Creek responded quickly, were able to come within two days and found out we needed a new system. A few phone calls later and they had a whole new unit installed within an hour. I'm so impressed by their professionalism, quality of work and prompt attention! Called out as my heater was not working. Turned out it was a bettery on the thermostat. Since they were there, I had them clean the unit. About 60 days layer there was a burning smell from the heater. Turned out the gas line had Bern moved and cracked and the escaping gas was acting like a blow torch on the electrical wires. I argued to no avail as it was past their 30 day warranty period. Had them fix the gas line and was charged full price for the repair. Now. About 2 months later, the blower fan has quit working and I noticed that the unit had not actually been cleaned the first time. Yes, the furnace is an older unit, but was working great, until it was "cleaned". Needless to say, another company is replacing the fan this week.​ read more

These guys are the original installer of our 2 year old heat pump and a/c unit. They came to perform the annual service shortly after the ice storm that knocked out our power for 13 days. The service guy was there for nearly two hours trying to get our Trane thermostat to work properly. His conclusion was the thermostat got fried after the main power was restored following the ice storm. He told my wife and I they had already replaced nearly 50 of the Trane thermostat units following the storm and power restore around the Salem area. I questioned whether it's really the power situation or crap Trane product. I explained to him I had a whole home surge protector installed when we built the house 2 years ago for just this type of occurrence. I also asked him why would this be the only electronic device in my house that went out? He had no response. Then he dropped the "here's how much it's gonna cost to get a new one and our fee to come back out and install it." Nearly $360...are you freakin' kidding me! Was not happy but had to get it fixed. Then he said he needed to order the thermostat and they would send it back to Trane for review whether it was fried or manufacturer defect. If manu defect, Trane would cover. If fried, we're responsible. Mill Creek wanted $125 upfront for the service call to come back out when the new unit arrives and remaining payment once new unit installed. Here is where it gets even better...service guy comes back out with the "new" thermostat replacement...this time I'm home and overseeing the installation. Questioned him why the "old" thermostat still shows operation to the heat pump, fan is running and can feel air. Sure I get no heat is coming out...but seems odd if the unit is "fried". Just not talking correctly to the heat pump is what I get as an answer. Okay. Tech installs the "new" thermostat and poof...failure! Double checks things are hooked up correctly....yep...try again...failure! Service guy calls headquarters...apparently to speak to the boss. Bosses conclusion - have to order another unit from Trane as the "new" one is apparently defective. So back on goes the old unit. Service tech rewires and reinstalls the "old" thermostat. It showed the same failure read outs as the "new" one did...kinda of odd if the "old" one is fried wouldn't ya think Captain! So the tech goes into the "old" thermostat and starts to program it as if it was just newly installed. Wollah...thermostat works just fine! Power outage for extended period = auto reset of thermostat. Follow manufactures programming steps...gee...who'da thunk! Two minutes of programming turns into days. And this is the kick in the nuts from Mill Creek...the $125 I paid for the service tech to come back out with an unnecessary "new" unit, Mill Creek refunded only half claiming we are paying for the service call! The service call that was not needed because Mill Creek tech's aren't educated on the products they sell? I'll go ahead and tell you how to do your job and pay you to do it half right...Mill Creek...should be Schitt Creek. I'll be sure to spread the word not to do business with this armpit company! read more

During this unusual heat spell our air conditioner quit working. Called at 7:30 in the morning and left a message with the answering service. Our air conditioner was fixed by 9:30 in the morning. That is amazing customer service!! read more

Had them come to our home to clean the ducts. The price seemed reasonable, however, they said there was a break in the duct line so they said they could only do half of the house. We then got two completely differing opinions from both of the technicians that came to do the cleaning. We wanted to have the repair done as soon as possible since they had just cleaned the ducts and we didn't want more dirt to be sucked into a just cleaned system. They were supposed to get back to us for repair. They never got back to us. We ended up hiring another reputable technician from a competitor. read more

From the service tech, to the HVAC consultant and finally the installers everyone was great. They were all very informative and seemed to be very genuine. The prices were very competitive and the invoices were very clear as to what Furnace and A/C would be installed. Also, itemizing everything else that needed to be done during installation. They aren't the cheapest shop in town, but they do good clean work and they care about the quality. Their sales people are thorough and try to make sure they are going through everything, providing a lot of education along the way. If price is your only factor, go somewhere else, but if you want a company that will give you quality and you're ok paying for that, this is a good shop with good people. read more

They came out to fix my thermostat and all it needed was to reboot...this took about 20 minutes at most, Michael then said that he smelled a gas leak.....I said I did not but Michael Garmon said there was (sprayed a soapy solution).....and said all he had to do was tighten a pipe. I was there when he did this.....took about 2 minutes to tighten the pipe. He also looked at a an outside vent....and he sad this was for a water heater and that was normal. I was quoted $184 for the thermostat/visit......my bill came out to be $284 after Michael was in the van for 15 minutes preparing the invoice. An IPAD showed the amount due I signed but was upset, because they quoted me $184. I signed two additional spots but no written information was showing on the IPAD when I signed the two spots. When I printed out the invoice it had information that was not true....but obviously written by an attorney. I called their office and they said the $184 was for 30 minutes which was never told to me ahead of time .....in fact nothing was in writing ahead of time. Michael never said there would be an extra charge for the two minute pipe tighening or anything to extra charges. This $184 per 30 minutes is more than my Urologist receives for my office visit of 30 minutes!!!!!. I have complained and suggested everything should be in writing ahead of time.....the lady who was at Mill Creek was polite said she would bring that idea to upper management. Might as well to tell them to eat healthy food and exercise. This is just common sense......... In my opinion thes acts are intentional and are at the very least unethical......and perhaps illegal. No one ever said the $184 appointment was for just 30 minutes or the 5 minute gas leak/tighening the pipewould be an extra charge. This company installed this furnace in my house about three years ago so if the pipe needed tightening they should do this because it was not tightened at original installation but they said only one year will they will come back and fix this type of issue. This is partly a follow-up to a review I wrote in Nov.2017. At the time, the owner/manager called some time after I posted an extremely negative review on some furnace work that was done for us (that involved duct tape) and offered a free maintenance/cleaning appt. to remediate the situation. My husband was so put out over the way he had been treated by their office staff and technicians that he refused the offer and we had no further contact with MCH. ...until this past fall when I visited a medical facility in Stayton. When I arrived I noticed a MCH service truck parked in the parking lot. As I was gathering my things to go inside, I watched a service person come out of the main building through the central entry point door, get into his truck (to get parts/tools?), then leave an re-enter the build via the same path. During this time he was not wearing a mask (nor did he have one hanging off his ears or tucked down on his chin), nor did he sanitize his hands upon entry (signs were posted requesting this for people entering). When I entered the facility I observed him walking through the large open area in the facility (where equipment for patient use is located) and back into the patient care areas, again not wearing a mask. It was clearly posted in several places near the entry that people entering a medical facility are by law required to wear face coverings (as is still the case). Despite the fact that this facility serves many clients who are elderly and/or medically fragile (who waited or were treated in this area), there was an apparent indifference to their well-being as he imposed his values and potential for disease spread on the patients waiting (which included me). Indifference to the needs of customers and their clients is yet another reason I would not do business with MCH. read more

I purchased a trane air conditioner and decided to zone my ducts with Mill Creek heating in February of 2019. The total cost was $10,000. During February 2020 the thermostat would randomly restart when you would go to touch the touch screen thermostat to adjust the temp. Now during the COVID-19 pandemic, it had stopped working all together. After several calls and emails, Mill Creek refuses to come out and even look at the thermostat that is under warranty for less than $300. Steven from their service department had been especially inflexible. 1 year and the thermostat breakdown...and I have to pay $300 just to have someone look at it...shameful. Don't do business with this company. They won't stand behind their work or their product. read more

We've used Mill Creek for a few years now. My husband first used them for his business and really liked them. We also purchased a new AC unit from them, and that went really well, too. Good customer service, etc. I would have given them five stars before our last experience with them. I note that recently they are very busy, business wise, and are growing fast. Buying other companies, expanding their location, etc. This can sometimes be bad news. We recently needed a quick job of having them prep the natural gas stub we had in our kitchen for the delivery of a new range (we were switching from electric to gas). The guys came out and it was great service as usual, a very quick visit to install a valve and flex hose. They sent two techs -- one was clearly a new guy being test driven by the experienced tech. This was NOT a two person job. When the bill came, however, I was shocked. First, they charged me for two techs... this was NOT a two person job. They essentially charged me for their training or new employee evaluation. But more of note was the triple digit plus cost for a 4ft glass flex hose. I did some research and found that they are usually much less (you can buy one for about $15-25; I know a place like that is going to charge you more). So I emailed them and said, "The 4 ft gas flex hose is listed at $119. That seems a little outlandish. I called a few other places and demurely asked for a quote, and their cost for a similar hose is around $50." Without contact or explanation, I received a new invoice via postal mail with the price adjustment a few days later. So... it's good that they were responsive and quick. But it's bad that they apparently are now charging customers overinflated prices, hoping to get away with it if no one calls them on it. This is really disappointing. read more

I had a 35 year old furnace that was ready to bite the bullet. I called several other companies but Mill Creek came recommended to me from a good friend. The salesman was Very knowledgeable, courteous, and did a excellent job at explaining the whole process. He did try to sell us a laundry gizmo which had nothing to do with our heating system but I do not hold that against him. He was quick to give us a 3 option estimate via email. The prices were not out of line with other companies. But here is where my review goes bad. every question I asked via email I did not get a response until I reminded them about my question the next day. They are just busy, and that is ok, but it was 3-4 times. I asked for a breakdown of the estimate and I got a hand written note with prices that seem to have been made up. They were not in line with all the other estimates I had gotten. Because I am not a wealthy person, and I really prefer to do everything myself, I did a little research into the wholesale pricing of furnaces. I do not have any problem with a company trying to make a little profit on a part. But, the higher end furnace that they recommended for our house wholesale is right around $1350.00. The price they gave me for the same exact furnace was $2314.94. I then asked if I supplied a brand new in the box furnace would they install it for the labor and materials price that was quoted. The response I got was that I should look into the warranty because furnaces ordered online are not covered. Well, because I am not a moron I had already looked into that and I sent him the text from the goodman warranty that said " What Units Does This Warranty Not Cover? This warranty does not apply to: · Units that are ordered over the Internet, by telephone, or by other electronic means unless the unit is installed by a dealer adhering to all applicable federal, state, and local codes, policies, and licensing requirements." Again no answer for a full day. I again reminded him and his answer was that he talked to the owner and he said if they did business that way they would be out of business very quickly. So, If you buy a furnace from the manufacturer, Mill creek heating will not install it. They have to make 100% profit off of the furnace to make it worth their while. Keep in mind their install price was $1700.00, for just the parts and labor. Which I would have been happy to pay. I would have even been happy to give them a couple hundred profit on the furnace, but not a grand. Every other estimate I have gotten has shown about $200-$300 profit on the furnace. I was really hoping to get a goodman furnace but after my experience with mill creek, I will gladly pay a honest company more money. read more

Service today was fair contractually. We understand as a business that Mill Creek or any business for that matter must adhere to warranty agreements which in our case was one year. Our issue (refrigerant leak) occurred 6 months post warranty. But we believe their initial workmanship was poor. We live in a building of 12 townhomes and 3 have had refrigerant leaks since the initial install in 2019. A new install should not have this kind of failure rate(25% of 12 townhomes) after 2 cooling seasons otherwise AC is simply too costly. These repairs are expensive and if they reflect a system defect (which has not been brought up to us) rather than workmanship then we will correct our review. read more

Bought a new house, and Mill Creek Heating installed the HVAC. The builder's subcontractors were lazy and dumped their wood and garbage debris down the air ducts right before closing. Mill Creek came out and cleaned the air ducts immediately! Then we had a super hot day, and the AC wouldn't work... our son has seizures and cannot get over heated. They sent someone out the same evening after hours and determined one of the subcontractors had turned off the Breaker in he electrical panel. They flipped the switch and it worked! So grateful for their immediate response. Totally pleased by their effort to go above and beyond in a day/age where most others are cutting corners! read more

We just bought a house and the newly installed furnace was acting up. I called them and they were able to come out same day and fix the problem and give me a new air filter at no charge. The guy that came out was very honest, informative, and pleasant. He arrived earlier then expected and even made a trip back to their shop for supplies to finish the job that day. The only thing that could have made the experience better was if the furnace had been installed correctly in the first place. The guy that came to service the furnace was surprised that it wasn't installed correctly. He was experienced in the install and operation. I don't know who the guy that originally installed the furnace was, but the service guy that came out made me want to use them again. read more

We had an issue with our HVAC system (fan not running). I called Mill Creek, as they had installed it when the house was built less than 10 years ago. When the technician finished his initial diagnostic, I was told the entire system needs replaced. He cited lack of service as the cause, which I couldn't necessarily dispute as we have owned the house for a little over a year. However, the $1500-$2500 quote for a total replacement seemed a bit over the top as the system was less than 10 years old at the most. Having little knowledge regarding HVAC systems, I thought it best to pay the $95 diagnostic fee for now and get a second opinion. Meanwhile, the service technician referred me to a sales rep for a quote. While waiting for my next appointment with another outfit, the sales rep quoted me a new system that was going to be between $3000 and $4000! Fast forward a few days and another diagnostic appointment and the fix was a blown switch board that was replaced the same day for $450 and it has been running smoothly ever since. I will not use Mill Creek in the future, and like most things a second opinion is not always a bad idea. read more

We built a new home three years ago, we researched heating and air conditioning units for our 3100 sq ft home and found that most units started losing their efficiency after 2400 sq ft. My wife read that the Trane brand made a larger unit that would maintain its efficiency, we analyzed several bids and found that Mill Creek's bid included three price point options including the the larger unit.I called and talked to Chris, he explained the benefits of the dual stage motors in the heating and conditioning units and included extra returns in our large master bedroom for better airflow he also made the statement that we would have the lowest energy bills in the neighborhood, he was correct! We keep our temp set at 69 degrees for air conditioning and 67 for heat. He suggested that we install an electronic air filter which my wife is amazed at the small amount of dust in our home. I now have Mill Creek Heating service our corporate facility which houses 10 heating and air conditioning units. We are very pleased with their service. read more

We had Mill Creek install our AC system in May of 08 and have used them for maintenance of the system ever since. Everyone that we have ever dealt with has always been very courteous and helpful. They are always on time, very fair and have kept our heating and cooling systems in tip top shape from day one. I don't know a lot about other companies that do the same type of work, but Mill Creek has never given us a reason to go anywhere else. We have used Mill Creek Heating a number of times over the past few years with excellent results. In those years past, we have had quick response and above board service from the technicians that have come out. When we had a furnace issue at our rental a few years ago, they came out right away and treated the situation with the urgency needed (it was December). That said, I have to say I was shocked to find after their most recent visit to our home that the technician who had been sent out (without a specific appt time, for which we were reprimanded by phone for not being home when he arrived) had difficulty installing the new part on our furnace and finally used duct tape to hold a switch in the on position. DUCT TAPE! And then he left after charging us $400, implying his work was complete!!!! I became aware of this when I noticed my husband was going into the garage multiple times daily to flip the switch back on, when the cold caused the duct tape to release, so we would have heat. Only when they were called and ask to have a specific technician to come remedy the situation did they make an appt to come and resolve the issue (Thank you JOE!). I have to say we no longer have confidence in the general workings of this company. read more
