I came in for a sick visit on a Sunday and the NP, Brittany, I saw was knowledgeable and took the time to go over any concerns and was generally very pleasant. I was initially told I would not be able to see my previous provider, even though I had received confirmation by text from the office. When I came in to sign the required release of information forms, the staff member I spoke with was dismissive and rude, even though she already knew I would be out of state for a week. Only after I showed her the message from the office did she go back and confirm with the provider, who agreed to see me after all. Later, when I arrived for my appointment at the new office on Coastal Highway, the same staff member was there. I arrived five minutes late after driving in from out of state, which the office policy allows to be waived once. I completed all paperwork, but she never checked me in. As a result, the provider came out and took another patient instead of me, even though my appointment was scheduled first. This was extremely frustrating and anxiety-provoking -- especially for someone seeking behavioral health care. The dismissive attitude and lack of basic administrative care made the entire experience feel chaotic and unsafe. I left feeling unsettled rather than supported. I strongly believe this office would benefit from trauma-informed customer service training, especially when working with mental health patients. Front-desk staff play a critical role in patient experience, and this one interaction made me decide not to return.

From the owner: Welcome to Primary Care at Atracare Health…read more I love the positive energy here at Atracare. I can't wait for our patients to come in and see for themselves. I am so proud to be joining an innovative, talented team of individuals whose vision and mission is to bring unequaled medical care to our citizens here in Sussex County. Not only is our gorgeous brand-new medical facility modern and fresh, so is our mindset. We aspire to deliver care that is top-quality and comprehensive, and we are dedicated to making it accessible, convenient and easy to navigate for your whole family. I came to Lewes to practice family medicine in 2006 after visiting my parents who had retired here and becoming smitten with the region and the community. My journey prior included an undergraduate engineering degree and medical training at the University of Pennsylvania (now the Perelman) School of Medicine and Thomas Jefferson University Family Medicine residency program, the combination to which I attribute my problem-solving and diagnostic skills. I then spent over 6 years in rural Iowa during which, out of necessity, I acquired a wide range of general medicine skills and practical knowledge. My time there included many hours as the only physician present in the ER or ICU setting. I am so fortunate to have had the training and experience to be your advocate in health...

My back had started hurting a few days before ER. I had no previous problems with my back but kept mentioning the pain including not being able to get out of bed without assistance. They may have done a catscan but dont really remember. Nothing was ever done to figure out the pain in my back. I was released after 4 days and sent on my way with no results. I followed up with my primary Beebe doctor and was told it was this or that again no answers and maybe another catscan. I went to Beebe ER 2 additional times to no avail. The pain was excrutiating. They evidently do no MRIs in ER unless it was brain. That is what they told me. I ended up getting a referral to pain management doctor and was seen 3 or 4 weeks later. I requested an MRI and he was nice enough to refer me. Went for MRI and followed up with doctor again weeks later. I ended up having a very fast spreading bacteria infection in my thoracic spine 2 verebrae. I needed surgery immediately. I just wonder why this could not have been discovered back in late october. Instead I went to Johns Hopkins and had 2 emergency surgeries. January and March. I now have 2 rods, many screws and a cage in my thoracic spine. It has taken me 5 1/2 months and Im finally close to walking again. Spent 70 days in inpatient rehab and now continuing with outpatient rehab. If only they took steps when I first brought up the back pain back in October 2025. manag
