Doc is the Genie - or at least that's how I like to think of him. Ever since I've had this extraordinary human being as a life coach, my entire life has been in flow, clarity, and harmony. Self-actualization has never been more powerful and rewarding, either... There is no doubt in my mind why people call this guy "Coach to the Stars," because as I can see, he clearly is one. Doc's a genius teacher and life coach, and his knowledge and expertise may very well lead to your own tipping point! Here's what he has that virtually nobody else has: He's got ALL THE ANSWERS, AND THE MOST EFFICIENT/EFFECTIVE KNOW-HOW. Nearly every other life coach out there has one of these things or the other, but never both. Some teachers have all the answers, but suck at teaching, while others are good teachers, but don't teach a whole lot (at least compared to what Doc can offer). Whereas Anthony Robbins has both the answers and the know-how, but "more" on the know-how than on the answers, Doc is the very converse - or complement. Doc as an Integral life coach has just as much overall skill as Anthony Robbins, except he leans "more" on the answers than on the know-how. But with the depth of the stuff he teaches, the know-how is naturally more difficult (but still that much more rewarding) and will naturally come from yourself, as it always ultimately does. Anyway - OBVIOUSLY, I am very biased in writing this review. I will concede that this in fact is not Doc pretending to be someone else adding an extra customer review. No - this is an actual person. Doc turned my life around. Working with him lucidly demonstrates the glaring limits of 'conventional' therapy, because he shows you how much more there is to yourself than your MIND. If you want a personal consultant who is incredibly capable and more than willing to give you an enlightened perspective on any facet of life, work with Doc. If you want a mentor with vast experience in guiding you to get out of your own way and get what you want, and more importantly, want what you get, call up Doc. Even if you don't, give him a call anyway and see what he can do for you in 15 minutes. I was reluctant as anyone to contact him--after all, "My life is fine, I'm happy (right?), I'll be fine, who needs a LIFE COACH anyway? Isn't that for folks who can't lead their own life on their own?" Maybe. Or maybe its for folks who acknowledge that there is always room for growth, and that the unknown and unfamiliar is the most beautiful territory in the world, even though its frightening at the start. Maybe a life coach is for folks who understand that they don't know everything already, and that others know a hell of a lot more and are more than happy to share their experience and knowledge, if you listen and let them. Are there times when you feel overcome by your emotions? Do you find yourself going through life in a trance, always thinking about things, feeling anxiety and regret over the future and past? Are you your own greatest obstacle? That's ok. But there is another way. I cannot wait to continue my exploration of uncharted territory with my wise, experienced and hilarious sensei, Doc Barham. If you need help with change management or want to reach your full potential in your professional life and personal life, then Doc is the man for you. I went to Doc because I was going though MAJOR change in my life. I was injured at work and was dealing with chronic pain. On top of that, I had to change my career of 15 years and was in the process of creating a company that would not only change my life but the life of a lot of people around me. What I like about Doc the best is that it's not talk therapy. I am not there talking about my mother and how my childhood was bad. When you work with Doc, you WORK. Doc teaches you the tools you need to grow up your parts and understand HOW to move past fears and road blocks. Doc really cares. I never feel rushed during sessions and most of the time they go way over time, he believes more about taking the time needed then rushing you out to get the next person in. I really got the sense that Doc cares when he would and still does call me to see how I am doing and reinforce ideas that we worked on earlier in the week. My GF would ask, who was that on the phone, and I would say Doc my coach. She was so impressed with his level of care and how much he had helped me in such a short period of time that she started seeing him too. She is also really happy with her progress. He has helped her break away from a dead end job and now she has a dream job! I can't recommend Doc enough. I was skeptical of going to see Doc Barham. I thought I knew more about my problem than he did. But I was desperate, so I thought I would give him a try. Before I even met him at his office for a session he had already given freely of his time. He talked to me over the phone for a couple of hours, no charge, and had good advice that greatly helped. Half a year went by (I was really draggin' ass) before I was ready to make some changes in my life. I arranged a session with Doc. Again I was very skeptical and not trusting, even though his earlier advice was spot on. I almost canceled my first appointment, trying to reason, "I don't need any help. I'm a man, a tough guy." I was wrong. The part of me that was not trusting was the same part that had been self sabotaging for years with this "me vs them" attitude. I was referred to Doc by my girlfriend, who spoke very highly of him. I went into meet him with an open mind and not really sure of what to expect. I had an idea of what coaching was all about, but was not sure how it would play out. Like any form of self improvement, you get out of it what you put into it. Doc has opened both my eyes and mind to different ways of viewing myself and others and how to more effectively go after what I want, take control, and come up with a plan in different aspects of life. Doc is the type of coach that has the ability to gently guide you to your own awakenings. He doesn't TELL you what is wrong or what your feeling... he guides you for your own ahha moment. I began working with Doc a year ago for weight management and keeping me on track with the HCG program. Considering I was a comfort eater AND a habit eater Doc was AMAZING with helping me see the reoccurring patterns and then creating new and better ones. I removed 30lbs in 40days and its a year later and I haven't gained any of it back AND I removed another 8 on top of that. I have spent the past 3 months working with Doc Barem and my transformation as an athlete and person has been profound.
