After her excellent feedback on this dentist and a bad experience at my previous provider's office I switched and have never been so happy with my dental appointments. The hygienist is excellent, although I highly would NOT RECOMMEND this dentistry for anything other than simple cleanings. This place is very costly and the doctors don't know what they're doing or they don't care. The doctor rushed through my fill in, drilling most of my healthy tooth away, leaving me in pain worst then before I got a fill in. A week later i had to come back for the same problem, instead of observing it he went in and drilled more of my tooth away. Saying it was my bite, the problem is it's very sensitive I can't chew or eat anything on that tooth. The procedure he performed didn't fixed the problem but made it worst instead. I ONLY know this because I got a second opinion from a different dentistry. Now I have to find a different dentistry to fix the same problem when this doctor couldn't do it right the first time, nor the second. I have had countless fill in but none have ever been this bad. I should have trusted my instincts when I had a chance to leave. ONLY come here if you're prepared for a headache.

And while nothing about going to the dentist is comfortable, I at least felt confident that while here, my teeth were being treated well, I wasn't getting scammed out of my money, and they truly cared about me...well, my mouth, at least. :) The assistants were wonderful and sweet, and the dentist actually surprised me with his "next-door neighbor" demeanor. A nice guy. I ended up getting my teeth cleaned but then went back and got them to replace a cap on a chipped tooth. They did a fantastic job and really paid attention to detail. I've already recommended them to friends and I certainly recommend them to anyone who asks.

My first appointment with Des Peres Smiles was phenomenal. I have driven by this office coming home from work and didn't think much of it, but it's actually a great office and very close to my house. The staff were great -- from the receptionist Shannon to the tech Allison and finally, the dentist Dr. Nicole Niewdach. She was knowledgeable and kind, and she along with Allison were very gentle while operating on me. I felt like I was in great hands. The office was very clean as well. I recently started SureSmile treatment here, and the whole process has been so much easier and smoother than I expected. I first went in for a consult and scans that were sent off to SureSmile, and during that appointment they really took the time to listen to what I specifically wanted to improve. Then I went back in to review the 3D model and treatment plan, which was actually really cool to see. That appointment felt very conversational and relaxed, and they were happy to answer all of my questions and concerns without making me feel rushed or pressured! About two weeks later all of my trays came in, and honestly I started noticing improvements after just a few trays. The pain/discomfort has been very minimal, and my teeth are already looking so much better. If you use yelp, then you will save yourself from a lot of wasted time and disappointment, with that said, I found my dentist on yelp and could not be happier! I was able to fill out my new patient work from their website, which saved me time. I don't think I waited a whole minute before they called my name. Once I was in the chair, they started right away.....There is a lot to be said for a doctor's office that you do not have to wait...at all! I am not sure how they do it, but it was the most comfortable dentist experience ever; my mouth/lips did not feel weird after wards, because they were so gentle....more so than when I floss my own teeth! They explain everything they are doing, what they are looking for etc....although you are in and out in a timely manner, they do not rush. You get their full attention as if you were the only patient that day. I am actually looking forward to going back....

Just like other reviews, he was humming a tune nearly the entire time, making funny comments and his staff genuinely also seemed to enjoy their work and were so very nice! The office is bright & fairly modern in the exam areas, and I really like that they have computers right there to show your x-rays right away. But sorry, no TVs like some of the other dentists in the area, but that's OK with me. They do have music on speakers, though. The cleaning and exam were very thorough and I didn't feel like the Dr. was rushing off to another patient - he took his time and talked to me and reviewed everything, making me feel like a valuable patient.

I haven't seen this doctor since moving to Chicago almost a decade ago and he still spent 10 minutes on the phone with me explaining the information to pass along to my current dentist and advising me on what needs to be corrected. I've almost always been able to make appointments within my time frames and if they dont have any appts, they will call you if someone cancels to get you in! They also call to see if you want to come in earlier for your appts if they are moving fast or have cancellations that day. I love that!! This is no fancy chandeliered, trendy office, but its nice, clean and comfortable. Best part: they dont hassle and pester you for extra services. He doesnt put on the salesman hat of so many dental practices today. I also have tons of old dental work and over the past 25 yrs, other dentists have tried relentlessly to get me to remove old molar fillings and replace for no reason other than the "look". I never felt this pressure from Dr. D. He asked me if any were painful or bothering me, explained that if I wanted to get them replaced someday i could, and moved on. He is quick and matter of fact, yet is caring and answers questions graciously. He also sometimes answers the phone when you call! The hygienists here are professional and thorough. I really appreciated the receptionist they had for years, she was welcoming and funny, but the person in that seat last time was... definitely not that..lol. well, only time will tell...
