When I arrived, I sat for just a few minutes and was greeted by Ari, who was fabulous. She put me at ease right away, because I wasn't sure if I was in the right place for my problem. She assured me I had made the correct call. Ari has a wonderful personality and made me feel comfortable right away. While we were waiting for Dr. Grayem, Sarah popped in to say hello. Sarah took care of me many times in the past year and is a delight. I was very happy to see her. Ari and Sarah were the perfect pair for me to see on Monday. Dr. Grayem came in and was very concerned and tried to help me. When the visit was over Sarah walked me out to the check out and just made me feel so special. What a wonderful experience, when I wasn't feeling well at all! I have never liked going to the dentist, because I have had several terrible experiences. Dr. Dankoski returned my call personally and went over my records with me from 16 (!!) years ago. I haven't seen this doctor since moving to Chicago almost a decade ago and he still spent 10 minutes on the phone with me explaining the information to pass along to my current dentist and advising me on what needs to be corrected. I was struck by his kindness and willingness to assist me. Thank you so much Dr. Dankoski! If you're in St. Louis/Kirkwood I can't recommend enough!

I've almost always been able to make appointments within my time frames and if they dont have any appts, they will call you if someone cancels to get you in! They also call to see if you want to come in earlier for your appts if they are moving fast or have cancellations that day. I love that!! This is no fancy chandeliered, trendy office, but its nice, clean and comfortable. Best part: they dont hassle and pester you for extra services. He doesnt put on the salesman hat of so many dental practices today. I also have tons of old dental work and over the past 25 yrs, other dentists have tried relentlessly to get me to remove old molar fillings and replace for no reason other than the "look". I never felt this pressure from Dr. D. He asked me if any were painful or bothering me, explained that if I wanted to get them replaced someday i could, and moved on. He is quick and matter of fact, yet is caring and answers questions graciously. He also sometimes answers the phone when you call! The hygienists here are professional and thorough. I really appreciated the receptionist they had for years, she was welcoming and funny, but the person in that seat last time was... definitely not that..lol. well, only time will tell...

The hygienist is excellent, although I highly would NOT RECOMMEND this dentistry for anything other than simple cleanings. This place is very costly and the doctors don't know what they're doing or they don't care. The doctor rushed through my fill in, drilling most of my healthy tooth away, leaving me in pain worst then before I got a fill in. A week later i had to come back for the same problem, instead of observing it he went in and drilled more of my tooth away. Saying it was my bite, the problem is it's very sensitive I can't chew or eat anything on that tooth. The procedure he performed didn't fixed the problem but made it worst instead. I ONLY know this because I got a second opinion from a different dentistry. Now I have to find a different dentistry to fix the same problem when this doctor couldn't do it right the first time, nor the second. I have had countless fill in but none have ever been this bad. I should have trusted my instincts when I had a chance to leave. ONLY come here if you're prepared for a headache.

My first appointment with Des Peres Smiles was phenomenal. I have driven by this office coming home from work and didn't think much of it, but it's actually a great office and very close to my house. The staff were great -- from the receptionist Shannon to the tech Allison and finally, the dentist Dr. Nicole Niewdach. She was knowledgeable and kind, and she along with Allison were very gentle while operating on me. I felt like I was in great hands. The office was very clean as well. I…read morewas so lucky to find the review for Dr. Tate on Yelp, which prompted me to make appointments right away due to the already good reviews. Dr. Tate is such a sweet grandpa-like man! Just like other reviews, he was humming a tune nearly the entire time, making funny comments and his staff genuinely also seemed to enjoy their work and were so very nice! The office is bright & fairly modern in the exam areas, and I really like that they have computers right there to show your x-rays right away. But sorry, no TVs like some of the other dentists in the area, but that's OK with me. They do have music on speakers, though. The cleaning and exam were very thorough and I didn't feel like the Dr. was rushing off to another patient - he took his time and talked to me and reviewed everything, making me feel like a valuable patient.

I was able to fill out my new patient work from their website, which saved me time. I don't think I waited a whole minute before they called my name. Once I was in the chair, they started right away.....There is a lot to be said for a doctor's office that you do not have to wait...at all! I am not sure how they do it, but it was the most comfortable dentist experience ever; my mouth/lips did not feel weird after wards, because they were so gentle....more so than when I floss my own teeth! They explain everything they are doing, what they are looking for etc....although you are in and out in a timely manner, they do not rush. You get their full attention as if you were the only patient that day. I am actually looking forward to going back....

On more than one occasion, they attempted to take X-rays even though they knew my insurance only covers them once every 12 months. I felt there was a strong focus on generating additional billable procedures rather than providing transparent patient care. Patients should be fully informed about costs and insurance coverage before unnecessary tests are performed. I was also concerned by the lack of communication regarding staffing changes. Dr. White apparently left the practice after a medical emergency, but patients were not proactively informed that a new dentist would be taking over their care. Overall, I found the business practices to be lacking in transparency, and the experience left me questioning whether recommended procedures were truly necessary. You will not find a friendly yet professional atmosphere when you walk in for your appointment. Our three children had regular dental care as well as braces via Dr McCarthy.
