Unethical is too mild a term for the legal scam, aided and abetted by the Bank of America, this company pulled on its job applicants. In December 2017, I applied for a position listed as "auditing" from the Seattle Office. I then received the same job notice from the Lynnwood office, and assumed the Seattle office had sent my application there, as it was the office I used most frequently, and again I indicated, to the Lynnwood office, that I wished to take the job. The Lynnwood office assured me that there were many auditing jobs available, all over the greater Seattle area, and that the assignment would be from four to six weeks, at a little over minimum wage. However, no one at Office Team would say how many people were to be hired, or where I would work. I had indicated my interest in the North Seattle area. I was also told the job would start on Monday, January 22, 2018. I passed the drug test and background check, and on January 17 reported to the Lynnwood Office Team office for a day of required training, along with about two dozen other applicants. All of this led me to believe I had the job and would start on Monday. On Friday, however, I received a call from the recruiter that I was on the backup list, as there were only two positions available in the north end. I was flabbergasted. I had been the first to sign up, through the Seattle office, but only learned then that the Seattle and Lynnwood offices were entirely separate, and that I was third on the Lynnwood list. No one had mentioned there were so few positions. No one had mentioned the name of the bank where applicants would be assigned. No one had mentioned that there was to be a waiting list, and most importantly, that the concealment of information was deliberate. This secrecy on the part of the Office Team personnel was a condition of the contract with the Bank of America, the reason for which continues to baffle me. Office Team led me on to think I had a job, when they knew, they knew as soon as I had applied, that I was the third person to apply for a job with only two openings, and that I was thus on the waiting list from the day I signed up for the job. I was also told I couldn't change my preferred location to another that might have had openings. I believed I had this job, and Office Team did nothing to indicate I didn't. Why would they have required the training on Wednesday, January 17? Everything indicated, to any reasonable person, that I had the job. Finding out I didn't three days before I thought I would start was infuriating. Office Team's contract with the Bank of America, which I assume paid Office Team for the few people actually hired, plus the percentage they take from the worker's earnings, resulted in absolutely shoddy, unethical treatment of myself and others. But Office Team didn't care. They got their money. I got so shattered I consulted a therapist, but the bitterness remains. When I complained to Office Team about the fiasco, they said they were very sorry and would never contract with the Bank of America or any other company who required such a contract of secrecy. I have not yet determined if they have kept their promise. Nobody who treats people like this should remain in business. read more

In 2017, I started working for Accountemps' Salaried Professional Service after spending over 15 years in one industry. My goal was to quickly diversify my experience by temping in many different industries. My first placement was within the area I live in, in Skagit County, which surprised me because we are pretty far removed from Lynnwood up here. I spent about 6 months working for a government client, and was very encouraged when Ashika would contact me regarding the assignment. She was in regular contact both during my assignment and after it ended. After fulfilling my first committment, both the job market and location I was willing to work, did not allow me to work another assignment. But, it all worked out even better than I could have dreamed. I have found a full time position at a different government agency. I "work" (if I can say this) with Accountemps since September 8. Today is October 6... Almost a MONTH PASSED... but I DIDN'T HEAR A SOUND FROM THEM after September 8!! Nothing! They've never called or emailed me during this month. However, when I had an interview with Mary, I was told that I'm a very good specialist, and they'll find me a job very-very soon. I think I had a common misconception regarding temp agencies. I figured it was a quick and temporary employment solution for me and I would get a less than mediocre employee. Boy was I wrong. We received a knowledgeable and talented worker with great attendance, attention to detail and excellent communication. We liked her so much that I'm please to report that what was once a position to help get me caught up on the books and payroll is now a full time employee and we couldn't be happier. I can't believe there is only one review. I usually don't write up reviews, but upon seeing the lack of reviews, I decided to take the time to do so. I was very desperate for a job, and had been scouring craigslist almost daily, I was a week from losing unemployment and without that I thought I would lose my apartment. I applied to a job that was placed by Office Team. They expressed interest in me, but not for the position I applied for. Unfortunately the day that I had my interview, I had another one earlier and when I left the first one, I found I had a flat tire. I called Nina and she told me we could reschedule for the following Monday. Over the weekend, however, I got very sick. Needless to say, I emailed to reschedule again. Now normally most places would take this as being flakey, but they were very understanding and the third time was a charm. I met with Alison and she told me that she didn't see me as a fit for the job I applied for on Craigslist. It was for a construction company receptionist and they wanted someone that knew construction scopes. I told her I had worked with a structural and ornamental steel company before and had also experienced a lot of home type construction throughout my life. I know a little about construction. I know a lot of ladies that know a lot less than me. So I explained this and some other background that I had that I feel would make me a good fit. They did offer me the job and I did make a good fit for the company. I had been warned about what the previous temp receptionist had done that made her a less than ideal candidate, and I tried to keep from exhibiting the same behaviors. Fast forward 3 months, and the lady that brought me in left very unexpectedly. I was basically hurled into her position due to me good work ethic and attendance. I am learning a lot here and continue to push to learn more. Alison continues to be a source of support. Throughout my brief experience with Office Team and Nina and Alison, I always stated that they were much more professional and just all around a better quality service than the one I had used previously. I have and will continue to refer people to them. I know my experience isn't the norm, but I feel so blessed to have come across Office Team and I will certainly keep them in mind if and when I need a temp at the front desk. read more

I would strongly recommend anyone looking for work to partner with a staffing agency, period, and Accountemps, along with their affiliates (such as OfficeTeam) are the best known in the area and by far get the most business. I came to Accountemps in 2013 expressly asking for temporary jobs so I could get a feel for what industry I wanted to work in. I personally never went more than a few days between jobs before they had me set up with another interview. Lynnwood OfficeTeam is a great company with excellent staffing managers. I had the opportunity to work for Robert Half OfficeTeam Lynnwood and Bellevue this year and I am very happy with my experience. I am transitioning into a new career and was concerned I would have a hard time securing work. Nina met with me and immediately zeroed in on my strengths and abilities. I do not have one complaint about my experience with the lovely ladies at this office. They certainly went above and beyond to make me feel valuable and to place me with a company that not only appreciated my skill set, but also meshed well with my personality, or maybe that was just luck :-) Either way I cannot express my gratitude for Alison's hard work and constant checking in to see how I was doing.
