He called my serve advisor and left a message in a non-intimidating tone; I believe it helped me receive a more detailed invoice about my 2022 vehicle repair. The Hyundai dealer had my vehicle for over a month; this was the second time for the same issue. I stumbled onto Spencer Cohn after I thought I had no other options for EDD. I had worked in a…read morecareer for over 25 years, had a recent work injury. The employer slowly methodically started to push me either to quit or get myself fired. I had a work comp case that was moving slowly too. Consequently as I got closer to my date of seeing my doctors for my work injury my employer was able to fire me at first ,vaguely and stated I was threatening on my last day of work. What was so sad about this was employer had 5 written statements and saying 4 employees were going to quit if employer wasn't going to fire me. The final straw was the general manager completely lied stating a conversation between him and I. I will say I worked at a Ford dealership. The employer held up my EDD for 3 months with my appeals being processed all they had to do was state I was fired for misconduct. Spencer took the time by phone to tell me I have rights, I have to fight this in a hearing regardless if I hired him or not! I checked Spencer out and here I find this guy with 99 percent 5 stars. Spencer then called me a couple times and got right down to business. Coaching me, going over what happened he regained my self confidence in knowing I didn't do anything wrong, just as I thought 4 months ago. I cant tell you how helpful Spencer was, he answered his phone, at appropriate times. He called to remind me what I needing to do. Try finding representation for a EDD hearing, no lawyers wants to waste their time. Its sad because the middle class hasn't had a safety net and we have become a replacement part in the system we helped build, and we are just getting kicked to the curb. Spencer was able to get the hearing judge to allow him to be present during by speaker phone. The owner of the dealer and his lying GM showed up at the hearing. When they found out I had representation by phone I could hear the dealer owners voice crackle while he spoke. After 45 minutes of hearing how threatening I was on my last day of work and basically owner and GM stated I was a criminal, Spencer as a professional turned the tables on my previous employer. He asked all the right questions to make owner and GM contradict themselves and all their other employee statements. Spencer closed with his closing statement, and I was amazed at his true talent and drive to help this little niche of the work force called the middle class. I won my hearing! I ultimately found out my case had been dropped during an extremely rude and abrupt phone call. The woman informed me (without explanation or empathy) that the firm would no longer represent me and that my file would be sent immediately. That never happened. During onboarding, multiple customer support reps reached out, creating the impression that I'd be well taken care of.. especially considering the $ignificant percentage of the settlement this firm charges. Despite multiple calls, emails, and even a certified letter requesting my case file, I received no response. This level of negligence & disregard for a client's rights is unacceptable from any law firm, especially one that claims to advocate for injury victims. PROCEED WITH CAUTION!

From the beginning, communication was lacking, and updates on my case were vague or non-existent. I found myself constantly having to call for information while dealing with significant pain, surgery, and ongoing treatment. At one point, I was informed my case would go to trial--which I understood would increase the attorney's fee, and I was okay with that. Later, I was told the case settled in mediation and that the fee would be reduced accordingly. That turned out not to be true. Every conversation I had with different representatives resulted in conflicting information, which made it extremely difficult to trust the process. Once my case reached the "trial" stage, I began receiving monthly check-in calls, during which I expressed concerns about treatment support and the continued lack of communication--none of which were ever meaningfully addressed. To make matters worse, when I finally received my settlement check, it was rejected by my bank. Bank of America advised me that there had been recent returned checks on the account from which my settlement was issued. Prior to that, Rubinstein Law held my check for over a week while waiting for their own funds to clear before issuing mine. In a time of pain and hardship, I expected professional support and guidance. Sadly, my experience felt more like a series of avoidable obstacles. In my personal opinion, I would strongly encourage others to consider different legal representation. When you're already dealing with physical and emotional pain, the last thing you need is added stress and confusion.
