There are better attorneys out there... it's seems they worked more for the opposition then for my best interest.

Charles McCutchan took 2 disabled seniors property line case and 10 of thousands of dollars from them despite the fact that only one of the litigant's case was transferred to Superior Court from small claims court and one of the litigants wasn't even a property owner with no legal liability. He negligently failed and refused to request a dismissal against one of the litigants and failed and refused to enter proper objections and evidence at court. Taking money from these disabled senior clients was apparently this attorney's only motivation. I would not recommend this attorney of this law firm based on my experience and opinion. read more

Stay away from this office. They have no interest in representing your interest but are just typical shysters out here in this office to charge you for the hourly rates that they don't even do anything for it. Unethical, Careless & rootless from the Owner whose name is on the business down to the other attorney. I came to Robert Baskin because I had known him and had sold him a property up in Northern California many years ago. I also ended up renting one of his rentals in Northern California for a few months in 2020, and that itself is another long story (which I should have known to not continue to do business with his stingy ass) that was my fault. I came to him with a lawsuit I had on a business matter and explained to him what was going on and whether they can handle it. He immediately said "No worries we will handle it for you and take care of you immediately", and next thing that was fixed on his lips was his hourly rates and the retainer fee (another red flag) without even asking further questions and even acting like he wants to know more about the case. Anyways...he passed me on to another shyster who called me 2 times during the 6 or 7 months that took to go to arbitration, and of course, they keep on billing me and I was paying it. right before the arbitration he calls me and asks me to find out some important facts about the case and some timelines that were critical to this case and I was like why is he doing it just now right before the arbitration? I spent hours and days gathering that info but I was getting blocked by the other party for obvious reasons which is I have an attorney and they won't talk to me. I asked him how come he does not just contact the plaintiff's attorney and ask all of these and he got upset and said the time is of the essence. We arrived at the arbitration meeting Via zoom and boy was he surprised when he discovered many facts that he did not know about. I am talking about some specific and simple dates and timelines of the events that he did not have or knew about. Therefore in the meeting, after he found out about these facts he basically told me my case was not good and we have no legs to stand on and suggested that I pay in a hurry. So I ended up paying the full amount of the lawsuit 35k to the plaintiffs and mind you I have already paid around 15k in legal fees. Basically, I would have done better without any attorney help let alone the help of these shysters. after all of this, they send me my last bill of $5900 which brings my legal fees to 20k. I tried to dispute it and explain it to Robert Baskin, and in response, he began the legal procedure to sue me which I ended up paying because I really do not wanna see their name anywhere on my emails. Regarding The Law Office of Robert M. Baskin and staff. Above and beyond our expectations, unquestionably the most positive experience ever with an Attorney!!!  Why? Robert provided invaluable aide and service to our family during a most difficult and sensitive time during the Probate of our lost loved one while honoring their last wishes.  We found him to be extremely attentive, responsive and detailed driven to find the facts in our case. I could email him day or night and If it was important we always recieved a quick response not days later, often within minutes. When you are the victim of discrimination, harassment and verbal humiliation, the worst possible outcome is that you suddenly realize the advocate you chose to stand up for your rights against your assailant is just as malevolent. For several weeks I had been corresponding with Attorney Baskin before I finally made the decision to engage his services. Attorney Baskin assured me that it appeared that I had a good case. However, Attorney Baskin insisted that he DOES NOT handle employee claims on a contingency basis. Although I thought that odd, I was not in a good place, and extremely distraught over the untimely death of my "twin sister" as well as feeling overwhelmed by the weight of the loss of so many other victims who suffered similar issues with the same employer. Although I agreed to engage his services, I EMPHASIZED the inadequacy of my financial means, and that every caution had to be acknowledged with what little resources I did have. I had conveyed that I would be coming into a sum of monies, but they were limited. However, when I received the resources, I made an initial payment on my account. However, suddenly I discovered that my conversations with Attorney Baskin long before agreeing to contract his services were now being charged to my account - for almost $5,000.00. Within less than sixty (60) days later, Attorney Baskin racked up an additional $40,000 in fees -- and nothing had even been filed. I could never have prevailed against my assailants at the financial rate I was being billed. So I had to end the pursuit of my case. Having two young children, and a home, we knew that estate planning was important, but we had zero idea on how to get started, and were quite frankly nervous and uncomfortable talking about "worst case scenarios" with just anyone. We had no idea what we were doing. The staff at Baskin Law were incredible. From Robert, who is not only knowledgeable, but kind and compassionate, and didn't take advantage of us not knowing much about estates. He provided factual information, sound advice, and explained everything step by step. He was funny, spoke highly of his staff and clients, and was easy to get along with.
