Awesome park! Super clean, nice fields. My son began a new travel team that plays here and we love it.

When I was 15 years old a mass shooting occurred at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, which I only lived about 10 minutes away from and tragically, 17 students and teachers died. Needless to say this devastated the community, including the soccer community. One of the victims, Alyssa Alhadeff and I used to play together on the Miramar Fields. While it had been many years since I had seen her, losing her in such a cruel and senseless way definitely affected me and my my team. The game that we played here took place a few days after the shooting. Everyone in the community was in a very bad place mentally, but before the game we did a moment of silence, and read off every name that we lost. We taped Alyssa's number on our wrists and cleats. It was a touching moment in such a dark time, and I believe I will remember it the rest of my life.

It even has netted practice areas for working on your swing. :) At night, these fields are very nicely lit! There are also soccer fields. PARKING LOT: Large parking lot with lots of spaces for game nights at the park. 4TH OF JULY: A great location to celebrate and enjoy fireworks! There was a DJ, food trucks and children's inflatables. With how big the park is, it was easy to find a spot that was not crowded to see the fireworks show. I was also impressed at the organized shuttle service which brought people back and forth to the overflow parking lots. Lastly, there is a beautiful lake, great paths and an adventure playground! Enjoy this great sports facility!

This is division 1 hoops, but there was only about 500 people in the stands on a Saturday afternoon to see the owls rout Jacksonville. Ticket prices are either $12 or $20 and there is no need to buy the pricier seats. Promotions are corny and the owl needs a new costume and there are at least 25 cheerleaders which isn't a bad thing at all. They call it the burrow, but it needs to be louder and there was no students at the game at all. FAU is in a major conference, so it's disappointing that crowd was small, but we enjoyed the game and the venue.

Food is a hodge podge of bad to average. Even the "club" level on the west side serves crappy cart food. Lines overwhelmed for food. Not run by one of the big food services like Aramark but it should be. They ran out of popcorn between the first and second matches. Security violated the fire codes and let kids block the steps at Section 126. Strictly the amateur hour. Love US Soccer, and I get that the stadium is the right size for the game, but this isn't a quality place. They wouldn't let in people with US soccer bags because they were too big. Bogus.

I simply cannot believe the decisions made for their renovation. I understand renovations were needed as the gym they previously purchased and renamed, did need several cosmetic updates. However, whoever made the decisions for this specific location seriously is tone deaf, and should not be put in charge of such decisions in the future. Not to mention, the air conditioning still stops working randomly, the showers are not open for use, can't use the court because of construction, several classes unavailable. And they are still charging full price. The only silver lining, and also the only reason I left two stars, is because the lifting area is still nicely maintained. And honestly, after seeing what they chose to do with the basketball courts, I will no longer be coming to this location. Removal of the full court NBA sized court with all the side baskets will affect their membership numbers more than they realize. This location has long been a legendary court where high-level players and their training staff and friends would frequent. Especially over the summer. Now it's been downsized to a LA Fitness style court. Also, considering how much it cost nowadays to replace of hardwood basketball court, if they ever chose to go back on their decision, it would cost them triple. Absolutely bonehead move by whoever signed off on this. Whoever made this decision, does not understand the local community and their desires. Furthermore, it's not like they were short on space. There's plenty of room in this massive gym to have turf placed without cutting up the bball floor. Not to mention, the other nearest lifetime in Palm Beacch Gardens only has Pickleball courts. So basically, if you are a basketball player, Life Time doesn't really care about you. Such an absolute shame. Local community that is affected by this will find alternate locations. Personally, I will be going to the equinox in West Palm. Feel free to include a boring corporate response below this review, but understand that no matter what you say, you made a terrible decision which was not " in the best interest of the community". I hate how so many things nowadays are made worse by someone sitting behind a desk signing off on bad ideas. Well, understand that now people who used to drive over an hour to come use this gym will find other places to go.

Management should review this incident and ensure members and prospective members are treated with professionalism and respect.

First of all it was 45 degrees, which is about as cold as these people can take. Seriously, they had parkas and snowshoes on. TEAM RED (friend's son's team) was playing TEAM BLUE in an epic under 14 playoff match. Team blue had two shockingly dirty players. Lots of late, hard challenges and diving. The highlight was when one of these two unluckily got hit in the face by a ball kicked by his own teammate. Understandably pissed, he punches the nearest red player in the side of the head. Linesman misses it completely even though it happened five feet in front of him (and me). Was he bird-watching? Meditating? Who knows. Kid's father next to me says "what a little asshole that blue kid is." Linesman turns around and tells me I'll get thrown out if I swear again in front of these impressionable children. I try to tell him I didn't but he's run off to blow an easy off-side call. He comes back and starts in on me again and I surprise him by casually asking where he learned about off-sides. We then have abut a 5 minute conversation about it and he misses about 3 or 4 more calls while we're talking. He wins by telling me I'll be thrown out if I question any more of his calls. Meanwhile, with 1 minute left in a 1-0 game, team blue's biggest player tries to dribble coast to coast and loses the ball. One of the other parents on his own team screams right in his ear to "pass the fucking ball you miserable little shit." But the hot chocolate was amazing, with tons of marshmallows, so 2 stars.

The park was named for the neighborhood and it was built in the early 1960's to provide recreation for children residing in the immediate area. Merritt Park is enclosed with a chain link fence. Park amenities include two lighted softball fields, stadium bleachers, 2 half-court basketball courts, playground, field, and restrooms. While the field is very popular for athletic games, the playground is rather basic and showing its age. To make the park more attractive to children the city has added a brand new ninja style course called ELEVATE by Burke. The course uses different obstacles to get you in shape and can be used individually or by teams. You can make the course even more challenging by incorporating burpees, jumps, and sprints. To learn how to use the equipment you can watch tutorial videos at bciburke.com/elevate. There are also directions on the backside of the sign in the park. I love these new ninja style courses that I have seen being added to parks and make exercise more fun. None of the kids were on the dated playground. Instead they were all on the inviting ninja course climbing and jumping and having a blast.
