I came for the Rock n Roll chili festiva. It was fun. They had a nice car show happening. The event was free. They had many vendors here some giving things away and selling stuff. A few veterans educating the public and many motorcycles. I enjoyed the good live music playing. The fire trucks, a helicopter, and big army vehicles were also here on display. It was a nice, family, and dog-friendly event. I enjoyed my time. The event was well organized. They had staff guiding parking inside. it was a one hot day. It was nice this park had big trees to shade the event.

I think the amenities here are very good:: long paved walkway with benches, restrooms, shower, oceanfront children's play area, & picnic tables. I noticed more families here with their coolers, chairs, umbrellas, etc. From the highway I can always see the historic Lake Worth Casino building, an icon since the 1920s, adjacent to the park & the beach. It has been converted into a 3,000 sq. ft. ballroom ~ the perfect venue for weddings & other special events. Almost every time I'm there I see someone walk up to the door, read the sign, & then leave, because they think it's still a casino! It anchors a shopping center with restaurants (including pizza & ice cream) & an Olympic-size outdoor Municipal pool, all open to the beach with perfect views. I spend more time here because I can throw on my coverup & take a break to eat & shop. Always remember to feed the meter @ the parks & beaches in Palm Beach County. Parking is $2 per hour. Kiosk takes Quarters or a Debit or Credit Card. It does not take paper money. There is a minimum of 2 hours / $4. Print the Receipt & lay it on your dashboard. Do not let your time expire ~ here or anywhere else.

Their website updates on Tuesdays at 5pm for new appointments: https://www.boynton-beach.org/news/covid I made my appointment online and received a confirmation email with a link to cancel or reschedule if needed. They provided a link to a form I could fill out ahead of time and bring with me. I was actually able to make an appointment for my husband for the exact same time slot, which was incredible convenient. Instructions were very clear: arrive no earlier than 15 minutes. 2 Police officers blocked the entrance and took our names, and directed us to park in what seemed like the back of the building. It was not immediately clear where we were supposed to go after that, since we were in the back, but since the only oher people who had been admitted were also getting the vaccine, we just followed other people to find a socially distanced line snaking around the building next to a chain link fence. Another police officer checked for the appointment times, more people took our form and looked at our id and told us when our 2nd shot would be. We followed the line into the building where we got a small white vaccination card. Firefighters gave us the first Moderna shot. A swift process! We were then told to write our own names on the card and take a photo so we'd have a copy of it. We then sat in a boring, blank room with paced out metal folding chairs while we waited too see if we had any reactions. It was very quiet in there. This was bare bones service with little info about what to note about reactions afterwards (and no actual checking of this). All in all, I appreciate the massive staffing efforts here to vaccinate multiple people in 15 minute time slots. They have an efficient, well-run machine of a system going on here. We did not have to wait for anything and the instructions given ahead of time were very clear. Thanks, City of Boynton Beach and all the folks who staffed this Center!

Cute little park with pavilions adjacent to the new Baseball Park…read more My cousin rented a pavilion for her daughters first birthday party. We were near the restrooms & the children's play area at the entrance of the park which was perfect. The pavilions are nice & the bench seating is comfortable. The grill is spacious & allows for convenience while grilling various items. The weather was a lot windier than hoped for which made keeping the flame lit on the grill a lot more difficult but we managed. I did not use the restroom so I cannot currently comment on the cleanliness & upkeep of the parks facilities. However, outside was very clean. No loose trash was apparent in the grass or elsewhere. No graffiti or other unsolicited markings. A few other guests in the park but not a heavy amount of foot traffic. Most people out with their smaller kids. No signs of pets or the parks pet policy, I could have very well overlooked it though. I'd return on the weekend to bike ride in better weather.

The walking circuit is about 0.25 miles if you walk around the central plot of grass and the restrooms. The park was clean and had plenty of parking (two lots) on the day I went, but it is adjacent to a baseball park, so I'm not sure what the parking situation is on a game day. He petitioned Mayor Jack Saunders and the City Commission for a regulation size, lighted little league baseball field because Delray Beach was the only city at the time between Vero Beach and Key West that didn't have one. Taking his request under consideration, the mayor and commission appointed Bob to be the chairman of a committee to research and start the process of building the field. Committee member Ken Ellingsworth helped the city apply for the Bicentennial Grant for $250,000, the largest grant ever given in the State of Florida. With the grant they were able to purchase the property near the transfer station off SW 4th Ave. The county helped build the park and a field called "Little Fenway", a replica of Fenway Park and it's "Green Monster", the left field wall in Fenway in Boston, Massachusetts. The committee voted to name the new park after the man who started it all, Robert P. Miller. Bob wasn't done yet though. One field wasn't enough for all of the kids to play baseball in Delray Beach. He went back to the city commission and mayor and got them to add more fields to the park. The last field added to the park was Sergio Field, named after another longtime city resident and employee Fred Sergio. Bucky Dent's Baseball School, now the Elev 8 Sports Institute moved into the south end of the park and helps maintain the fields. Today Robert P. Miller Park has been renovated and reconfigured to include three new little league fields, one major league field, two-story concession stand/press box building, Miracle League Field and concession stand building, four batting cages, major league practice infield, 3-bay storage building, new pavilion and pitching and hitting wall area. The original playground was relocated; additional parking was added, and the fencing and play surface on Little Fenway at the North end of the park was replaced. Until accidentally stumbling upon this park I had no idea this kids baseball dream existed next to the railroad tracks. What a wonderful resource for the baseball lovers of Delray Beach and all thanks to Bob Miller who wanted to make a place for the Little Leagues to play in the city he loved.

It is sandwiched between Orchard View Elementary School and a Delray Fire Station. Orchard View Park was dedicated on September 2, 2000. The land for this park was formerly known as Blood's Hammock Groves. The city of Delray Beach purchased the land from the Blood Family in order to create the park. You can still see many of the orchard's original trees which provide shade for the park. Orchard Park has a lot of great amenities which include six picnic pavilions, barbecue grills, a recently renovated playground with swings, climbing structures, and slides, the walking trail I enjoyed, a drinking fountain, restrooms and a parking lot that will hold 25 cars. Located off of busy west Atlantic Avenue this park was a great find and is well worth a visit if you are in the area.

There's a paved walking path (so it is accessible) that's a little under a half mile in length. Flat and thus easily paced. There are sports activities -- a basketball court, tennis courts, and a volleyball court. A corner bocce ball area looks a bit overgrown. There's a workout area with various bars. And there are sedentary options too with benches, pavilions, covered shade and a picnic area, and sunny areas, grass and greenery for a quiet relaxation, too. The kids would enjoy the climbing structure, the slide, the swings, and the see saws. There are facilities (bathrooms) in a separate building also. Overall a pretty good park for the neighbors and visitors.

These include a shade covered, ADA accessible playground, barbecue grills, basketball court, benches, pavilions, picnic tables, a sand volleyball court, and paved walkways. Overall Lakewood Gardens Park is a pleasant and accessible neighborhood park that offers locals a place for casual outings, picnics, active play, and relaxed afternoons. This open park feels clean and safe.
