This is an email that I sent to Robert Puff a month ago to say thank you for his work. In addition to the email I want to clarify that my response to his work was accompanied as I mention by a lot of other positive life changes. But listening to Dr. Puffs podcasts every single day, was really elemental in providing change. There is a no-nonsense approach to his work. This is a compassionate lesson on the real work it requires to create change in your mind and heart. I don't claim to be there yet but I know I have tried a lot of things, and Dr. Puff has stuck. Hi Dr. Robert Puff. My name is ---. I'm a fan of your podcast. I'm writing to tell you my short-story. I have loved your podcasts since I first started listening to them about 6 months ago, but the last week it has really touched me and opened my perspective. I've noticed there is almost an evolvement in the lessons of the episodes, this morning I learned about using a thorn to remove a thorn and it completely opened my heart. 3 years ago almost to the day in fact, I came to the end of a very very special relationship with someone I consider to be the love of my life, so far. It was devastating, this is a woman whom I had proposed to a year prior, and now I'd just found out she wanted to end our relationship to be with someone else, a person I knew well. And that is exactly what she did. A few days later I was visited unexpectedly by my Uncle, I knew something was wrong immediately and he told me he had just discovered his Brother, my own Father, dead in his home in bed. It was totally unexpected. My Father struggled from severe addiction and depression issues until he died at 62. And although I anticipated his early death sometimes, it was a total surprise when it happened. He and I had not spoken for a year up to that day. My soul disappeared in the months that followed. I went about my life, I was in school, I kept going, I got a summer job, I spent time with friends. But my soul was leaving me and there was only pure rage and violence left. I truly felt as though I was going insane, I completely lost the capacity to empathize. I began to feel as though I was experiencing multiple personalities. I suffered from ruminating thoughts that were so severe they would keep me awake at night. I thought about suicide regularly. This was not a new experience to me, my childhood had been decorated with pain, violence, and trauma. At times the trajectory that had lead me to this current point seemed almost comical in it's severity. 2 years after the losses I walked into a local hospital for a psychiatric assessment. It was suggested I had a borderline personality disorder. Shortly thereafter I entered therapy, not for the first time in my life but more seriously now. I began to treat my life like a wound. I meditated daily. I began keeping journals of my experience. I began to focus on the work that needed to be done. I read about the beauty of death. But I also started listening to your podcast, and things began to change, as the way life flows. I forgave those who had hurt me. I began to lose interest in my addictions. The voices in my head became manageable and then eventually completely within my control. I began to treat those around me with respect, and compassion. And then skip to the last week when things have reeeeally begun to become fluid for me, and I learned about this poetic metaphor that says use a thorn to remove a thorn, and then get rid of them both. And although I don't foresee a future where I'm not listening to the Happiness Podcast I do foresee one in which the work is paying off. It is your generosity and years of accumulated wisdom and also your eloquence with language, there is a conciseness to your delivery that is soooo effective for people with overwhelming anxieties that have given me permission to enjoy the fruits of my labour rather than continue suffering because I have been working so hard to acquire happiness. I was driving home today and it was a beautiful evening, I'd worked late and was happy to do so because I have a job that I truly love, I'm a carpenter and I get to craft magnificent works of beauty every day. The clocks have just changed for daylight savings so as I drove home it was still so sunny, and I work in the rural Canadian interior, an area called Gatineau in Quebec that is renowned for its conservancy efforts and natural beauty, and as I drove and looked at all the naked trees just budding and soaking up that sun I just started laughing at the simplistic beauty of accepting what is. I literally started laughing at the beauty and my heart started pounding a little heavier, the way it does when you are in love. Thank you so m much Dr. Puff. Your work is truly an inspiration. Dr. Puff, Thank You! Thank You! Thank You! Your podcasts are a tremendous help and I already recommended them to a lot of people. I found your podcasts a couple of weeks ago, on the "Castbox" app. I have listened now to almost all of your podcasts and I cannot thank you enough. I have been dealing with all lot of stress in the last couple of years and I am so thankful that I found your podcasts. A guarding angel must have directed me to find them, because it truly was at a very trying moment in my life. All of your podcasts have been helping me a lot. Soon as I listened to a couple of your podcasts, it lifted my spirit, I started to feel better, and regained hope for happiness, even if we grief the loss of a loved one. I know that dealing with grief and disappointments, by working more, setting more goals is not the path to happiness. However, hearing it from you somehow made me "wake up" and realize that I need to make a change. It is so kind and generous of you to offer your help for free and to record the podcasts. I am sure many blessing will continuously come your way, because of your kindness and helpfulness. I will continue to listen to your podcasts, and as I learn more from your podcasts, I am sure that I will soon discover all the right ways to make the needed changes that will allow me to have more time to live life. I have been listening to the podcasts since August 2017. I am on round 2 of listening to all 180+ episodes again. I have found the podcast to be EXTREMELY helpful, to the point that so many people have commented on the change in my demeanor. I was doing very well until last week, when the pressures at my job "got me." I have gone back to the podcasts to get myself in check and I fully understand that I need to find a new place to work. There are no issues with attachment or fear on my part. I have had to accept that this is a toxic work environment and like Dr Puff says, everything matters. Everything we expose ourselves to matters (tv, entertainment, family, friends). I have found on a daily basis, I am exposing myself to abusive people (see people yelling and screaming when they do not get their way) then a senior leadership staff who not only condones the behavior but models it. I definitely see that I need to remove my self from this environment, as it DOES "get on me." In the past, I do not think I would have had the tools to realize and accept that this is not the place for me and that I merely need to move on - no judgement - it is what it is and there is something better out there. Dr Puff has made me very aware that I was a big part of my problem, as I am telling myself stories about my situation. If I am to take my current circumstances at face value with no judgement or criticism of myself, I am better able to make a balanced decision and move on. Five stars is not enough for the value I have received from Dr. Puff throughout the last 20 years. At age 37, I found myself divorced with a newborn and a two-year-old, moving back in with my parents. This was a horrendous time in my life and without my discovery of Dr. Puff's Meditation for Health Podcast, Enlightenment Podcast and Happiness Podcast, I sincerely do not know how I would have kept my sanity. My children are ages 20 and 17 today and Dr. Puff is very much a household name. They recall that when they behaved badly, we would load up in our SUV and drive around the loop listening to a Dr. Puff podcast that was relevant to the behavioral issue at hand. If they interrupted Dr. Puff's broadcast, I restarted the podcast. This practice helped establish some very important principles to live by and also taught the children the discipline of listening to a 10-15 minute lesson. My daughter is at a major university studying clinical psychology and I am so very proud of the person she has become. My son is applying to major universities to study business. Both are very well-adjusted and progressive adults and I have to give Dr. Puff much credit in helping me raise my children. I still listen to the podcasts on a regular basis and treasure these very valuable life guidelines. I just stumbled upon The Happiness Podcast yesterday, and I love it! Dr Puff is very wise, and I feel is spot on with his insight and suggestions. He really has some mind blowing insights that can transform your outlook in a relatively short amount of time. I listened to about 10 of the most recent episodes yesterday, and my only critique is that he gives too many negative examples. For example he will say, "Well of course bad things can happen. I could loose my job, my spouse could die, my health could fail, etc." And as someone who suffers from anxiety, I do not need to be reminded of what life's "bad situations" are that I could run into. I am well aware, too aware, of the bad things that could happen every day. I think we all are aware of these risks. It started to really get to me, and ultimately I had to turn the podcast off, as my mind was racing, and I was no longer getting any benefit out of the positive things he was saying & trying to get across. Hopefully that isn't how all the episodes are, and I can keep listening to earlier episodes. I know I spent a long time writing about this critique, but that should not turn others off from this podcast. Not everyone who wants to listen to this podcast is going to have anxiety or even pick up on these examples. The podcast is quite amazing, and is a great way to put life back into perspective. read more

Dear Dr. Robert Puff, I am Richelle, I live in the Philippines and I listen to your podcast regularly. Your podcast is part of my Monday routine, while I am driving to my office I start my week listening to your podcast, I have been listening to you since January 2018, but my review is only now because after listening for 1 and 1/2 year I can say that my life improved and I help also the people around me to improve their lives thru sharing your thoughts in your podcast. We are facing many challenges living here in our country and with your help it changes my perspective in everything. I've tuned in to a significant number of Dr. Puff's digital recordings and I need to state that he is completing a fine occupation. He can turn the incredible lessons of the prophets from misjudged talk into justifiable language that most can appreciate. His message is to carry on with a cheerful life. That message implies surrendering all your assumptions about what and where joy is and to go out on a limb an into a misconstrued place. As he says, 'it takes work.' So in case you're not willing to work at discovering harmony, and conceivably giving up your Mercedes or your Lexus, prepare to have your mind blown. You won't discover it. No one, I mean no one can hand it to you with a royal flair. Dr. Puff has committed his life to helping other people and his digital recordings are openly accessible to tune in to and gain from, however no one but you can discover your tranquility in the event that you are eager to work at it. read more

I've been listening to Dr. Puff's podcasts for years and I can honestly say he has inspired me to be a more peaceful person. Learning to accept those things we cannot change is not easy to do, and Dr. Puff's calm mannered podcasts have shown me that anything is possible if we work hard enough at it. I appreciate Dr. Puff sharing his knowledge and experience with others and posting his podcasts freely for anyone to listen to. He really cares about others! He has truly made a difference and a huge impact on my life at a time I was suffering from multiple chronic medical conditions that caused my happiness to spiral downward. I've listened to many of Dr Puff's podcasts and I have to say that he is doing a fine job. He can turn the great teachings of the prophets from misinterpreted rhetoric into understandable language that most can enjoy. His message is to live a happy life. That message means giving up all your preconceived ideas about what and where happiness is and to take a leap of faith into a misunderstood place. Like he says, 'it takes work.' So if you're not willing to work at finding peace, and possibly sacrificing your Mercedes or your Lexus, guess what? You won't find it. Nobody, I mean nobody can hand it to you on a silver platter. I discovered Dr. Puff's podcast in the middle of an existential crisis nearly 2 years ago. I have meant to write this review so many times, but I know what I write will not be able to encapsulate how the podcast has changed my life. Through this podcast, Dr. Puff has taught me how to let go of my anger, resentments, and disappointments, and live a life of child-like wonder, no matter what external events may be occurring around me. I listen to this podcast every day, listening to episodes multiple times, and I eagerly anticipate each new one he releases. And I'm finally writing this review, after 20 podcasts of plans to do so :DD I listen to the podcast almost every day, it helps me to live in peace (before I didn't even know what peace is), to calm down whenever I want, to understand what is important in live, to notice and start to change the patterns that does not serve me and much more. I attended Dr. Puff's weekly meditation group for a few years. I have also attended his meditation retreats. Dr. Puff helped me through one of the most difficult times in my life. His guidance completely changed my perspective and allowed me to move past some difficult experiences allowing me to live a more peaceful life. I have learned to be more aware of old conditioning so I can see it for what it is and choose change. Such changes do not happen over night. When you embark on starting a meditation practice it is a long term commitment. Don't expect to see changes after one sitting. Hi Dr. Robert Puff. It is a blessing to discover you on Sportify. I listen to each episode not only once but trice to let every word of you sink in my heart and soul. It is like a companion when I'm doing house chores. One thing I learned is that happiness and inner peace are actually a skill everyone can gain. Dr. Puff's Happiness Podcast has been immensely helpful to me during the very stressful times of moving and adjusting to a new city, starting a new job, and just generally feeling overwhelmed, lonely and melancholy. When I listen to each episode, I feel like there is something I can *do* to change how I interpret my life. Sometimes you can't change your life overnight, but if you can change how you view your world, you can still experience a much happier and more grateful outlook. And that changes everything! Dr Puff's Happiness Podcast is my go to one when I have tough feelings and whenever I need my time. I have been a fan since around Dec 2019 and I still am. I randomly contacted Dr puff for impromptu visit while I travel LA, Disneyland area and Dr Puff happily accepted it and spent some time with me for a quick chat. It was great to see you and took pictures together Dr Puff! He is down to earth and I strongly recommend his podcast and anyone having challenges in life! I am an Elementary School Teacher, and I felt mentally exhausted and negative at the end of the school year. I began listening to Dr. Puff's Happiness Podcast at the beginning of the summer, and I feel like a new person. Dr. Puff has helped me to live more in the moment and to be present with the people in my life. I am on episode 181 and will continue to keep listening to each and every episodes. I stumbled upon this podcasts while looking for a Pyschologist for my son who is facing a difficult time. I am also going through a custody battle with my ex for our special needs daughter relocation to another state. The level of stress gave me health issues. I decided to seek self care and happiness.
