Terribly, terribly rude receptionist - not willing to explain services rendered. Be careful to EXPLICITLY state what services you'd like to receive - apparently there is a monetary difference between a "check-up" and an annual physical exam. If you're not super savvy with medical terms, it wouldn't matter anyway because these people seem to have come up with their own. Dr. Doomun has been Our Family Doctor since 6/8/2007 for over 8 years now. I love this Doctor and his staff! Dr. Doomun is thorough, direct and to the point when it comes to his patients health, he explains in detail all treatments medical or natural fixes, he spends as much time as needed to discuss all the options out there. His bedside manner, he is gentle, kind and beyond any doctor I have known or seen to date! I had issues with insurance a few times, However, it always came down to my insurance company and the wonderful billing lady always got it straightened out!! He has a vast rolodex of specialists whom hold him in high esteem! Dr. Doomun has referred me to many doctors. I had to have neck surgery due to a horrific car wreck in July 17 2008, we were hit from behind the car we were in was totalled. The Neuro Surgeon he recommended did my neck surgery March 18th 2010 and was a professional kind and did one hell of a job and neck still good to date! My knee doctor is a rockstar in his field! Every doctor he has referred me to speak highly of him. Dr. Doomun is a true professional with a kind heart that wants his patients to get the very best care possible! His Nurse Mel, she has an absolute knack with the needle you never knew she used it until she says okay we're done! Mel is a phenomenal Nurse, and knows how to keep the swimish upright! I love her spunky fun attitude! As for the office staff, they are all hard working Women, kind, helpful, very professional! I respect them all!!!! If you really need to see Dr,. Doomun the staff talks to him, if they can fit you in they do! To say you had a bad experience via the phone with his staff, and choose not to address with him. Well, that boggles my mind! 1 individual a year ago was very rude to me via the phone. I keep my appointment I told Dr. Doomun all that transpired via the call. When I went to follow-up appointment, Dr. Doomun had addressed it with his staff and I never had the issue again ever. Doctors can't fix what you don't share with them! I had been looking for a personal Dr - I am no longer looking. Dr. Doomun is very knowledgeable, and his "bedside" manner is phenomenal. I felt as though I was speaking and meeting with a good friend. I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Doomun - especially to men 45 and up, who are in the stage of life where things need to be talked about, monitored, cared for, and trust is a factor. I was literally just hung up on by the receptionist. :( If i could give zero stars I would. Long story short, I went into their office for a preventive care service - which according to Obama Care, you get two free visits a year. I had my blood pressure taken by the nurse, then spoke with Dr. Doomun for five minutes. They seemed to think I needed my blood taken but I said no because I didn't know what it would cost. Shook, hands, said thanks and went home. Three weeks later a bill for $115 arrives in the mail. I called them to tell them they did not file the claim properly with my insurance provider. The receptionist kept saying she could not and would not change it and that I could not speak to Dr. Doomun. I told her I wouldn't pay the bill and she said good luck with the collection services and hung up. So here I am writing this review... So all in all - $115 to wait in a waiting room for 30 minutes and 5 minutes casually chatting with a doctor. Cooooool read more

Dr doomun had been my physician from the early 1996 to 2010. I credit Dr doomun with my good health and also getting me to quit smoking. My brother my son also give Dr doomun very high marks. Those that have problems with the receptionist and give low ratings seem to be there more for their ego than the care that you get from Dr doomun. I highly recommend Dr doomun. This Dr. Doomun is pretty good I must say. I came in thinking that I have a sprained ankle but when the doctor diagnosed it as being gout, I was really shocked. He asked me if I drink alcohol and I was very candid about my drinking habits. I told him I don't want to take any more medications at the moment because I'm already taking a few other medications for some other health issues that I have, so what did he do? He told me to drink a mix of apple cider vinegar and water, eat apples, cherries, along with easing on the alcohol. In 2 days, gout pain was gone!! He was not forceful with medication and gave me options of home remedies. For people who want to find the best doctor in Yorba Linda, Dr. Doomun is it. Although I didn't have insurance, he was the most affordable doctor in Yorba Linda. Great and pleasurable experience! read more

Staff was extremely rude when I tried to call for an appointment. I was assigned Dr. Doomun as my PCP last year and needed to go in for an annual exam. I would not recommend this office based on the way the receptionist handled my first initial call. read more

I agree with the other comments about this office. The staff has NEVER been friendly and has had negative conversations, rather loudly, regarding their patients that I could clearly hear in the waiting room. Most recently, I called them because I needed a referral to a new cardiologist. (We all know how easy it is to get care when you have an HMO...you need a referral for everything!) I was diagnosed with a heart condition when I was a teenager and it seemed to be getting more frequent in the past couple of weeks. The person on the phone told me to immediately go to the ER and that Dr. Doomun refused to see me until I was cleared by them. I clarified to them in a voicemail later that day that I was not currently having an attack, that it was not an emergency situation, and that I did not have to the money to pay for an ER visit and subsequent bills. I received a rude voicemail back from someone in their office saying that I had to go to the ER and that they WOULD NOT see me. I really felt like they weren't listening to me at all and I immediately went online to change my PCP. I faxed them a letter requesting all of my medical records and out a note on the cover sheet stating that I would be sharing my experiences on social media. HERE IS THE BEST PART! The next day, I received a fax from their office with a hand written note and this was the exact wording "If you post your comments on social media we will call our attorneys to sue you for slander. You were sent to the ER due to concerning symptoms of chest pain and shortness of breath. This IS the standard of care." First of all, bravo on the professionalism! Secondly, their note just proves that they were not listening to me at all. My "concerning symptoms" are from a PRE-DIAGNOSED condition and I WAS NOT currently having any of those symptoms. All I needed was a referral to a specialist to have them take a look at my heart and make sure everything was still working the way it should. Lastly, Dr. Engle isn't even my doctor! Why am I getting hand written notes from her threatening to sue me if I post anything about my experiences??? Watch out fellow YELP users! I was a patient of Dr Doomun for several years until he decided to open his own office. Till then it was fine - not that I had a lot of problems but whatever minor issues they were resolved and I rather liked dr. Doomun for trying a 'per patient' approach to treatment and diagnostic instead of 'conveyor belt' standardized approach so common otherwise. That kind of changed when he opened his own office - it became a complete mess with billing, making appointments, waiting time, etc. I still liked the doctor and discounted all the unpleasantness to adjustment period when he just started to manage his new staff personally. Still felt relief when my insurance changed and forced me to change PCP. Now I have to find again a new PCP and thought of dr. Doomun, thinking after all these years he finally got a grip on his front office. Disappointingly, several other people recent reviews indicated exactly the same horrible experience with front office that are so memorable for me. Real pity - there are some good doctors but seems they cant manage their staff and/or dont understand importance of professional front office for people who are already dont feel well. I certainly not going to revive the same experience dealing with unprofessional, incompetent and uncaring staff just to be able to get to the doctor, even if doctor himself is fine. read more
