To start with the fitting process - they wanted to put me back in the same brand shoe that I told them did not have enough arch support - also suggested an insert. I wanted shoes that fit- not made to fit with an insert. After several shoes that didn't give me the support I needed I had to make the suggestion of going to another brand of shoe. I purchased the shoes but after I got home I decided I really didn't like the color - which color choice was limited to 2 colors at the time of purchase. When returning the shoe I was told there is a 15.00$ restocking fee. This is ridiculous because they will literally just walk to the back room and put them on a shelf. When I asked them to waive this fee I was told the manager wasn't there and it couldn't be done. I was not told about this fee when I purchased the shoes - when I pointed that out I was directed to a small print poster located under the lip of the counter. The only way someone could even see this was to stand 5 feet away. Who stands 5 feet away from the counter when making a purchase? No one that I know. I was then told this fee is in place to protect the store in case someone would find the same shoe at a better price. Well, isn't that how commerce works? Maybe Robert's should be more competitive in their prices. Oh and also was offered a store credit but that was useless as I will never go there again. read more

This was our first time shopping here, and we truly have been missing out! I needed a good pair of walking shoes, so we stopped in to see what they had. Dan greeted us as soon as we walked in the door. He talked with me about my needs, observed me standing/walking, and measured my feet. He was patient as I tried on different pairs and explained how each would benefits my needs. He was simply amazing! I walked out with the perfect pair! I stopped by Robert's Running & Walking Shop today and had a great experience. As soon as I walked through the door, Gary came to assist me in finding the perfect running shoes for my (incredibly flat) feet. I've been having some foot pain this week and thought it would be a good idea to invest in some high quality running shoes. Gary watched my gait to determine how my weight is distributed when I walk, then he brought out different types and brands of shoes and tested how they fit my foot. I walk about 10 miles a day at work and haven't been able to find a shoe that fits me well enough to get me through a shift without my feet being in serious pain. The guy at this shop took a good look at my feet, my high arch and the way I walked. He found me a pair of shoes that are the best I've ever put on my feet. Skip the mall! This is the spot to pick up some running gear if you are in Charleston. Great products and great service. I visited WV about 6 months ago and got great help here while shopping for some shoes for my wife. When it came time to buy, I was at home in Pittsburgh and bought elsewhere. I needed some new kicks and am visiting again, so I decided I'd make a purchase here and give them the business they deserve. I walked in and they greeted me and recognized me almost immediately. I was impressed. Picked out some great running flats that are somewhat hard to find, tried them on, got their opinions. Sold. Picked up some running pants too for this longer-than-expected winter. Left a happy customer and proceeded to my 7 mile run on the nearby riverfront. read more

Purchases are simple. However, my experience in returning a pair of shoes was terrible. Sales manager was dishonest about the store's return policy. I have yet to receive my refund. I was charged $15 for restocking fee which is not on their website. Shoes were not special order, they were in stock. After 3 trips to their store over 1 purchase and still no refund on my card-A very disappointing experience. Why be dishonest over the return policy and then not immediately issue the refund. Absolutely ridiculous. read more
