Robert's removed a tree from our yard. We selected him based on price. However after his crew left, I took a closer look at what was not cleaned up. The center of the yard was cleaned but the edges were not. I sent photos of what was not cleaned to Robert's. This was two weeks ago and I have not heard back from him at all. Never even get a quote from these guys. They come without any notice. Even after saying we are not interested, sent a text stating they are on the way to the job. He said he would do for lower cost than the guy whom I hired. He promised he would come next day because of which we cancelled the hired guy. But this guy didn't turn up nor give any update. If you are not coming, atleast have the courtesy to inform. They are creepy as they show up to the house without us requesting. Avoid them even if they say they can do the job for half price. Been trying to get this dead tree taken down before it came crashing down. I Had 2 other companies look at the job and never call me back. (I'm guessing the job was to difficult) Carlos showed up to take a look and arrived exactly on time! Too often you are given a time window and you end up sitting around all day and losing a day of work. Carlos gave what I felt was a very reasonable estimate so I didn't hesitate to hire him on the spot rather than attempt to get a second estimate. He showed up a few days later again exactly on time and completed the job in an amazingly short amount of time. I needed the stump ground and he said he would be back a few days later to complete that. He did not want to be paid even a portion of the job until he came back to do the stump. This tree service is extremely unprofessional. They came to do a consultation, and after The text me the quote. I told them that I wanted the job done and wanted to know their availability. They never responded so I called them. They kept on forgetting that they already came to my house for a consultation and wanted ton send someone out to do another one. Had my trees cut down by Robert Tree Services recently. Did a terrible job. Paid 3k to cut down the trees and to grind the stump. They completely destroyed the backyard with the commercial machines. Did not clean up the mulch from the tree properly. We had to hire additional help to clean up the mulch. Upon cleaning up the mulch, we discovered the tree stumps were still visible, literally sticking up from the ground. Have reached out to Robert Tree Services several times to come back and finish the job. They keep on saying "ok" but never show. Completely unprofessional. Highly recommend to NOT USE them and save your money. read more

Do yourself a huge favor, DO NOT deal with this company. Thank God I followed my instincts and went with a different company. However, this is what happened while I was dealing with them, and I want people to be aware of these scammers. I contacted a couple of tree removal companies via Home Advisors. One of them was Roberts Tree Service. The entire communication with the person from this company was via text messages (I regretted that later, because the guy who I dealt with barely spoke English and misunderstood everything - I learned that the hard way). I don't know the guy's name, but I think it was the owner of the company. So I asked if they could come, assess the tree that I wanted to remove and provide me with a quote. The guy came while I was at work. He texted me and said that he would charge $2,300 to remove the tree. I asked him if he could do the job for $1,800, and that I will be paying with a credit card. His counter offer was $2,100. I asked him if his company has insurance, he said yes. Then I told him that if he could get down to $1,800 then he would have the job. He replied with a counter offer of $2,000. And by the way he kept saying "cahs" every time he would try to bargain. The fact that he wanted cash only alerted me right away. Then he said he was doing a job nearby and wanted to come and do the job at my property. I said "Not yet. I am getting quotes from other companies". Then he said that if he comes today he'll do the job for $1,800. I was surprised that he wanted to come to do the job without obtaining a permit from the town first, so I asked him about that. I also reiterated that IF I hired his company, I would pay with my credit card and not cash. He then started texting me something about "the permission" and sent me a form to file for the permit. It was very hard to understand what he was saying, but I understood that he wanted me to fill it out. I just texted him that I have to get back to him on that because I was expecting quotes from other companies I had contacted. He replied with "yes to schedule the work". That's how it ended that day. The next day at 5:34 pm he texted again with "sorry he could get the permission". I was confused by what he was saying. The same day in the morning I hired another company that provided me with a better quote that I accepted. So when the guy from Roberts Tree Service contacted me with that confusing text, I told him that I hired another contractor and thanked him for providing the quote. I thought that would be the end of my interaction with this company until I received another text from him saying that I have to pay $200 for his time and the permit that he says he filed. I was in total shock! I told him that I didn't sign a contract with him and certainly didn't ask him to file for the permit, and that providing quotes is a free service (at least, he didn't inform me otherwise). Plus I clearly told him that I was waiting for other quotes to come in. He then sent me a couple of Gibberish texts that basically were unreadable. What I was able to understand is that, according to him, I was wasting his time and I needed to pay for it. Then he threatened me by saying "I WILL MAKE YOU PAY". I was appalled to say the least. I decided to call and speak with him. I just wanted to clear up the situation, but couldn't even say a word because the guy was screaming at me. Didn't understand a word he was saying, no sentences, just random insults. My advice - STAY AWAY! read more

We paid for the removal of two trees and the grinding to 4 inches below grade of the stumps. When the workers were finished,on june 17th ,the chips covered the stumps.They said it was our responsibility to remove the chips. When we removed the chips a great deal of the stump was above grade, in places as much as six inches above grade. Our phone calls (since back in the month of June ) were rarely answered and no call back.We emailed , sent a letter and pictures on August 21st and they have not replied They claimed their stump grinding machine was broken. They promised to come back and finish the job but never did. It's three months later and when you call, if you can get someone to answer, they still tell you their stump grinding machine is broken. My advice is, DON'T PAY UNTIL THEY HAVE FINISHED THE JOB and you have a chance to inspect after the chips have been removed. And do not pay in cash. read more
