I hired Happy Trees to do a considerable amount of work on my property. The scope of work included removal of dead trees, removal of overgrown weeds that were so tall, they looked like trees, trimming of branches, and grinding a stump. Marvin, the owner of Happy Trees, stopped by my property to give me a thorough analysis, recommendations and a written estimate. He also informed me about the need for a town permit. I had interviewed another tree company for the job but they never mentioned the permit nor did they provide a written scope of work or written estimate. That other company was less expensive than Happy Trees but their lack of professionalism was a red flag to me. I signed with Happy Trees and Marvin and his crew (seemed like 10 guys) showed up promptly to start my project. While one guy was on a crane cutting down branches, another team was busy clearing my backyard, Marvin was grinding the tree stump and another team was picking up the debris and disposing of the branches in a very loud grinding machine. Marvin and his crew completed the job in about 5 hours (not including their lunch break). For the amount of work, I think 5 hours to complete the job and clean up is pretty quick. They were thorough, efficient and fast. They worked harmoniously together and in perfect sync. It was fascinating to watch from my kitchen window. Marvin is the consummate professional who takes pride in his work. Do yourself a favor and contact Marvin and Happy Trees before you hire anyone. 6 years ago Happy Trees took care of overgrown trees at my business. The work was done fast and professionally. I knew that if I needed the services again, I will call them without a doubt. Last month I contacted them to help me take care of a huge tree I have at my house. I called, left a message and less than 30 minutes later I received a call back. I was able to schedule an appointment the same day to get an estimate. Once in my house, Marvin (the owner), took his time to answer all my questions and concerns. His knowledge was more than obvious. He gave me different options and helped me made a decision (and no, it wasn't the more expensive option). The estimate was given to me right away. I had 2 trees installed but beware they will tell you a very good price and then tell you it was last years price. Mine started at $75 installed then it went to $125 per tree and $220 to install each. The trees were $125 each retail not his price and they charged $220 to install them. 3 months later one is dead and as most people know the business always blames the environment. Marvin is a nice guy that turns bad, the contract changed after the job was complete by triple and he was very nasty (contact me for the text messages) now one tree is dead and According to Marvin it's bc it wasn't watered even though they were watered regularly and the tree next to it is fine. Look Marvin buys the trees from someone else but will not hold them accountable for a bad trees. This makes him bad!!!! Respond to this and I will give more details please. After having them over to give me an estimate they were able to come cut all of the overhanging branches that needed to be trimmed. They were professional, listened to my concerns, and cleaned up after the job was done. I'd call on them in the future if I needed tree work done. read more

After submitting my online request Happy Trees was super responsive (got a reply within an hour). It was a holiday weekend, but Marvin was still able to schedule a time to meet to provide an estimate to remove a 30 ft pine tree and trim some weak overhanging limbs in our backyard (3-4 trees). Before we called, we weren't sure we could afford to even have the work done in our budget. However, Marvin quoted us a very fair price and scheduled us for early the upcoming week. Great communication of schedule but because my job was too small they had to try to tie it to other work in the neighborhood. Ok I can understand that. Two or 3 weeks to do that; sure not a problem. The problem is that with them trying to squeeze as much work as possible they rescheduled me 3 times for a number of reasons. Non of which were due to my tree not being available. Their truck caused damage to my driveway. I called them and they had someone come out and quote the repair, but did not contact me at all after. When I reached out to them, they said they are not responsible for damages even if caused by their negligence. I would not recommend at all. read more

It was such a pleasure working with Happy Trees. Like most people, I know next to nothing about tree care so it can be a bit anxiety provoking to pick a good tree care provider. Happy Trees and its owner, Marvin, took the stress out of the process. Marvin came and did an initial free estimate. He walked all around our backyard, then wrote a detailed description of services he would provide for each tree, and the total cost. We found it to be very reasonable so we scheduled the appointment. Marvin and his team came on time on the date we agreed on, and he and his team went right to work. It was actually amazing to see them do their thing. Despite the obvious challenges associated with taking down and pruning large branches high up from the ground, the Happy Trees team worked together like a well oiled machine, practicing accuracy, safety and efficiency. Marvin Came out to my house today after the unhappy review I left here. He offered to cut a "couple hundred" dollars off the price IF I fixed my review. Here's the thing, maybe an apology and an "here is how I can fix it" would have done the trick. Instead, he argued with me to the point where I had to pull up call logs to prove that I never received any phone calls from them, and my emails to prove that I had also never received any email communication from them. He asked to see our quote/ contract so he could point out the terms and conditions related to damage to the yard and driveway (which, by the way states that you are out of luck if they wreck your property), but in the process I also discovered that I had in fact checked the little box stating that I was willing to pay extra to have the debris from the stump grinding removed. As mentioned in my previous review, that part of the work hadn't been done. I checked the box, the work didn't get done, and somehow it became my failure. I got sick of arguing and finally had to just say "ok". I cut the check for the full amount and will go elsewhere for the driveway fix and debris removal. read more

We had tried a number of tree services in the past and finally settled on Happy Trees. We found Marvin (the owner) very helpful. the first time we used them, he actually pointed out that we didn't need to cut as many trees as we thought, just trim some back. His quote was very reasonable and the work was beautiful.
