Robertson Park is home to the annual Livermore Rodeo. I grew up on a ranch in SoCal and often attended rodeos with my family. It's been a long time since I've been to one and the fond memories of my childhood were rejuvenated. Upon arriving at the venue, the line of vehicles to enter Robertson Park was backed up, so we decided to park outside the park and hoof it in. On this occasion I was taking my daughter and her boyfriend to the rodeo. I had pre-ordered tickets so I was ensured a seat in the grandstand. This rodeo is known for selling out every year. As we were coming upon the entrance we were greeted by animal rights protesters. They were handing out flyers protesting animal cruelty. I politely said no thank you and proceeded to enter the venue. Upon entering we browsed the line of merchants selling western products and saw my friends booth (check out Pieces by Danielle on instagram). We then grabbed a corn dog and proceeded to out seats. Thank God I paid extra for coverage in the grandstand on this hot day! The cowboys and cowgirls participated in roping events, bronco riding, barrel racing and bull riding. My childhood dream job was to become a rodeo clown! We really enjoyed the rodeo and especially my daughter's boyfriend. This was his first rodeo! Can't wait for next June! read more

Robertson Park covers a lot of ground. part of it is just dirt fields, broken trees. other areas are developed soccer fields, children's playgrounds, manicured greens. one can stop wherever one desires or just drive thru, enjoying nature in it's purest form in some spots. read more

Uncle Alex took his nephew and niece here. It's has a dog park and a good size small playground with restrooms. It's not the best parking wise it's kind of a large dirt spot. So truck boys and now lowered cars would be ideal. It's free to get in like any Park. It wasn't that busy but I did go pretty early. The playground is small not large it's a slide and a few swings. They have a very large soccer on the other side. I was pretty clean and I didn't see any homeless people near by that's always a plus. The kids like it ok; but were not 2 mad when we left. I might repeat if I am in the area but it's not something you should drive 30 + to go see. It's fine. read more

Robertson Park - At the park with my nephew - Parks Near Me - Livermore, California

We happened upon this park by accident. We were trying to get to the beach with our pup over the weekend but there were so many accidents and slow downs that we needed to stop somewhere and let her out for a bit. We were all able to use the restroom and walk out to the dog area and we ended up staying much longer than anticipated. There were plenty of friendly dog owners, lots of room to run and they even had little obstacles for the pups! I was most surprised about the fact that there were also some toys near the tables that had been left for everyone to use. We brought balls with us for our girl, but it would have been really nice had we forgotten and I have never seen that before. I also saw lots of people using the hose near the watering area to wash their pups when they were getting ready to leave. My only complaint is that the area isn't very well kept; grass is overgrown, potential for tics, lots of bird poop and dirt on the tables and benches, etc. If we lived closer we would visit this park often and we have marked it on our map to stop at when we are in the area. It's definitely worth stopping by. read more

DGD was chosen for the All Star team in soccer, and they played here *under the lights* last evening. This park is expansive...and as I discovered, home of the Livermore Rodeo. The soccer field is multi-use....sadly the American football configuration kept us far from our little players. Parking was in the muddy unlit field. There were several games going on at once. We got out pretty fast, and avoided the chaos that was going to ensue. She played a great game....our little athlete. read more

This park is very large, with lots of walking and biking trails. I spent a recent Sunday afternoon playing horseshoes here with a few Livermore Dads. The horseshoe pits are numerous and closer to the Arroyo Road end of Robertson Park Road. They have earth (not clay) so the horseshoes don't stay where they land but tend to bounce off, which made our game a little more challenging but also more exciting! A couple of benches under shady trees right next to the pits makes this a perfect picnic spot for large groups or families. A big minus is lack of bathrooms which won't work for the fastidious types when it comes time to answer natures call. read more

This review is fir the ball fields. The pitchers mounds have ankle deep holes that are unsafe for pitchers, the batters boxes are ridiculous. AST should not be hosting tournaments here until the this community does some much needed maintenance on the infields. Yes, if you build it, they will come. However, you also need to MAINTAIN it! read more

I'm reviewing the playground section, not the dog park, which seems quite popular. Not super thrilled with this park. If not for the bathrooms and it's close proximity to friends, we probably would never visit. There is no shade surrounding the playground, not even off to the side a bit, making it less than ideal in warmer weather. There are no benches or tables near the playground. The larger play structure seems less safe than most. It's pretty high up and doesn't have much in the way of guardrails. It has handrails, they just don't seem sufficient to me. When you have two kids of varying ages it can be difficult to keep the younger ones on their designated play structure. read more

. The play structures ( one for little kids and one for older kids ) are shaded which is a plus. I wished the swings were also shaded. There isn't much sitting room for adults. There's a small sand pit area for kids to play with but I found it full of debris. There's also a bathroom. Overall will come back. read more

Great area for staging a group event or rendezvous point! A group I am affiliated with chose Robertson Park as an area for meeting up before cruising our way through Livermore's wine country on bikes. Great idea, right!? Robertson Park was an ideal location for this, but I recommend arriving before noon as it appears to be a popular spot for soccer tourneys and family outings, so get your parking spot early. A friendly ranger-man popped in to let us know large groups should apply for a free permit ahead of time whenever possible to prevent over congesting the park. read more

We are thrilled with the new off leash dog park. I hope they keep it; I have met several of my neighbors for the first time and am finding new friends with a common interest. The park is clean and well kept, plus my dog and I enjoy the walk over. It's good exercise for both of us and the views are lovely. I really enjoy feeling like a member of the community as I am new to Livermore. read more

Awesome park! A soccer field. A baseball diamond Paved pathways. Arroyo Mocho Creek runs along the park. Clean bathrooms with heat and warm water! Horse shoe pit. Great place to walk your dog on leash. Doggie poop bags available. Huge open unmarked area for parking for large events. Some sort of massive open shed type of covering. I'm not sure what this area is used for but all in all a nice park. Minus 1-star because the unfenced area open field is really bad and not well taken care of. You really need to watch your step especially if you are running. This area seems to have a lot of gaps where you can step and end up off balance or twisting your feet. read more

I love Robertson Park. Home to (3) soccer fields, a horse shoe pit, biking/walking trails, the biggest horse arena you've seen, clean bathrooms, and they host the best family oriented and affordable rodeo around every year in June. This is probably the only rodeo in US where you'll see flip flops everywhere. It's that casual and comfortable. One less star for not fighting for park expansion and letting a developer build homes on the adjacent grounds. read more

I've heard of this park before but I thought it's just a place where they held the annual rodeo event. But this park have more to offer than holding the annual rodeo event. It has trails to run in, a wide open space for dog owners, a full flowing creek that runs through the park, a soccer field and a baseball/softball diamond. It alos have ample parking space. This park is exactly 7-mile loop from the parking nearest to Arroyo, take the trail going towards Concannon turn right on Concannon and stay on Concannon until Arroyo. Turn left on Arroyo, stay on Arroyo until the trail that leads up to Holdener Park, follow the trail until you reach Marina Street, turn left on Marina and just follow the trail where it ends up at Concannon turn right and just follow the trail you started on from Robertson Park. When you reach Robertson Park you've run 7-miles already. I like this trail because it has enough hills to get your uphill training, get you heart pumping and a lot of flat courses for recovery. Also Robertson Park have a lot of space for group outing. And a great park to take the kids hiking for a walk or just to spend a day in since it has a shallow creek they can play in. read more

There is absolutely no shade to sit under, unless you bring a picnic blanket and it's so far away from the park you can't even see the kids. There is not one chair and not one bench to watch the kids play.....how absurd and ridiculous to spend the money that goes into building a park and nothing for parents to sit on. My family will never return. read more

We were here Jan 14, 2017 for the state cup girls soccer tournament. We found it easily enough and loved seeing the horses and dogs exercising. There was a tot and kid play structure with a couple swings for older and toddlers. There was a dirt parking lot that had a bit of mud due to the recent rains. The turf fields were well maintained and easy to navigate. We were able to walk laps around the last two fields for exercise while the teams warmed up. The only real negative was the women's bathroom. By early afternoon, or lunchtime, there was dwindling toilet paper, seat covers and a clogged sink. By mid afternoon there was only toilet paper in the middle stall! Yikes! Someone needs to check the bathrooms for supplies for a girls tournament!! read more

I recently found this place due to a temporary relocation to the area. There is so much to do here and the area is very aesthetically pleasing. If you have a large family or just on your own, take some time to visit one of Livermore's great landmarks. read more
