Michelle is an amazing tour guide and clearly cares about this place. This is a mining museum, in which Robson gathered a large collection of mining tools, trinkets, and lifestyle items to immerse tourists in old mining Arizona. We especially liked the church up on the hill, the view of the surrounding saguaro forest is breathtaking. read more

Although well worth seeing it is no where near looking like the old posted videos. It has suffered from severe neglect and the ravages of weather and time. The amount of heavy mining machinery hauled in here over the years for display is simply staggering. For those interested in a time capsule of mining and daily life shortly after 1900 this is a must see. Be aware that cell service, water, and electricity is scarce here. Dust is not. read more

This place takes ghost towns to the next level!! Not only do they have multiple buildings but they have all this stuff and you can touch it and be somewhat interactive! I haven't been to one yet with so much to see. They even have an awesome hike to see old Petroglyphs and have an adorable dog that will go on the hike with you. The care taker has an immense amount of knowledge and it fun to just sit and listen to. It's out in the middle of no where but definitely worth a visit if you are on your way to/from Arizona. You can easily spend a whole day here. read more

History

Established in 1917.

Located just 20 miles outside historic Wickenburg, Arizona, Robson's Ranch & Mining Camp is one of the oldest and best preserved original mining claims in Arizona. This truly unique spot is surrounded by the second largest Saguaro cactus forest in Arizona and encompasses some of the most extensive Yavapai Apache petroglyphs in the state. The first claim to mine on the vast property was in 1917 when the Wesley Rush family operated what was then called the Gold Leaf Mine. In 1924, the mine changed hands to Ned Creighton who renamed it the Nella-Meda Mine in honor of the Rush daughters. Operation continued for 18 years until the U.S. Government closed down all gold mines. The mine engineer and caretaker, Harold mason, eventually took over the property until his death in 1979, when Charles and Jeri Robson, restored many of the buildings and added additional facilities including the Hotel. Western Destinations acquired the property in 2009.
