Ever since my favorite barber moved to a different state, I've been on the lookout for a good quality barbershop that delivers great service without all the extra "treatments". I've had cuts here over the past year from multiple barbers and I've never left disappointed. There were a few times that I had to wait despite having an appointment on weekend mornings. However, I understand it happens at times so I don't fault them for trying to keep up with the demand because maybe their clients show up late or they try to make sure their cuts are perfect instead of rushing people out. They prioritize the appointments so be sure to book on their site to make things easier, but they do take walk ins as well. The shop is newly renovated, clean, and has plenty of seating if you're waiting. The parking is easy with spots along the entire street even during the winter. I currently go to Rich primarily, but I've had cuts by Annie and Tiffany, who both gave me great cuts and Annie offered recommendations for my hairstyle. I've seen some cuts by the other barbers while waiting or during my cut and they seem to do a good job as well. Be sure to bring pictures if you're particular about your cut and it doesn't hurt to remind your barber even if you've been going to them for a while since they have so many clients and your "usual" can vary over time as in any barbershop. Rich actively encourages me to remind him of what I prefer and offers suggestions if I have any concerns about my hair. I have been coming here for a couple of years now as I always went to a salon, but wanted something closer to Quincy. I was intimated at first to go to a barber, but everyone here is super nice and will get you the haircut you need. I go to Rich, and he has been by far an incredible barber and always does my hair the way I want it, and even offers me suggestions of what he thinks will fit my style. Went in this morning right after work as I work overnight got there right at 830 am was out bye 9am no wait on a Monday morning I was also surprised to see them open on a Monday Only disadvantage was that they are cash only and there atm machine is very slow and could t do my transaction which caused my carded to show suspicious activity Otherwise great barbers very friendly and didn't butcher my beard like most places would've I will be back if I'm in the area. read more

Usually great place to go because Rich and Chris are great. If you could duplicate those two it would be perfect. That's the last time I'll get a haircut from someone who is bald, I don't know his name but he shouldn't work there. Not happy with the quality or his attitude. Easily the best barbershop I've ever been to. Richard is an absolute gentleman and the main reason I go there. He is one of the friendly businessmen I've ever met. High level of professionalism. The place is very clean but retains its old school charm. Before Richard took over it was a standard local shop. I would go in if it wasn't too busy. But I went there more for convenience than anything else. Now? I won't go anywhere else as the owner has made me a loyal customer. Felicia is an absolutely talented highly skilled barber. I don't let anyone else trim my beard. My only complaint? It's so good there it's always busy. But it's ALWAYS well worth the wait. I was a walk-in customer and the young lady said I could sit down and the other Asian gentleman cutting hair was arguing with her dropping the F bomb and wouldn't stop as the lady was cutting my hair. It's gotten to a shouting match. It didn't stop until the owner showed up. I felt bad for the young lady, but I didn't want to get a crappy haircut either while she was trying to deal with her coworker. I don't know what his problem was and could care less. But I'm in the barbers chair and a haircut and a lineup is almost 50 bucks with the tip so I would appreciate more comfortable environment. What a gem! First, I was greeted like family.Henry, the owner told me he bought the shop which has been there for well over 50 years. Classy and spotless clean. Just what you would expect. Very welcoming and comfortable. Street parking but there is always plenty. It's diagonally across from DD. A new barber named Rob gave me a great taper and cleanup. After 3 weeks, my hair grows all over in different directions but didn't phase him at all. I knew it was going to be a good cut because the young guy before me came out great too. Very nice, old school barbershop... my new favorite go-to in Quincy. Parking is on street. There are five cutting stations, and today when I went in there were three barbers cutting. Kevin cut my hair... high and tight... perfect. He knew how to do it and he did it extremely well. Used an electric razor for the sides and gave it a good work over... used hot shave cream and straight edge for the ears and neck. So the descriptors next to each star as I write this read as follows: 1 star = Eek! Methinks not. 2 stars = Meh. I've experienced better. 3 stars = A-OK. We don't have to go to the 4 and 5 star ratings for the purposes of this exercise because 3 indicates mild satisfaction and that is already beyond the pale of this review. Suffice to say, according to the suggested feelings of fulfillment and satisfaction I would give Rocco's a single, dim star. Now normally I hate to give small businesses a bad review because they rely on reputation and people's livelihoods are sometimes at stake. But in light of the service this place gives me consistently I'm willing to make the exception. I usually go to Vinnie's right around the corner but the owner takes time off occasionally and closes the shop. A handful of times this has left me desperate for a cut (for a wedding, interview, whatever) and most times I went to Rocco's. Over the course of 10 years I've been there probably 4 times for a cut and each time it's got progressively worse. Well, I've finally reached the point where I'm writing this. I wear glasses for distance. At about 10 feet things get a little fuzzy. As I watched this guy hack away at my hair I could see in the reflection how poor of a job he was doing. The cut that Lou usually gives me takes him about 35 minutes if he's not too chatty. It's tapered in the back and a little longer on top and I get the straight edge on the neck and around the ears. This guy finished butchering my hair in 10. I don't consider myself a style aficionado as is evidenced by my wardrobe made up of free beer t-shirts and cargo shorts. I also can't see very well without my glasses. If I could see, sans glasses and (based on reflection about 5 feet X2) ten feet away what this guy couldn't see with his eyes about 15 inches from my head there is a significant problem. I asked him about all the hairs that were uncut sticking out of the top of my head and on the sides and he told me it was because my hair sticks up and proceeded to cut it further to almost a wiffle, but continually missed the uncut clumps of hair sticking out of my head. I said it's fine, leave it alone and I left. I also didn't tip him, the first and only time I didn't tip a barber. I was going to be in my cousins wedding the next day. I had to go to my sister, who is a hairdresser but lived 30 minutes away and have her fix it in the middle of the night. And that was just the last time. Any other time I went in there in a pinch I got an equally shoddy cut. If Lou is on vacation I think I'll take my chances with someone else. Hell, even a Supercuts or something has to be better than these guys. read more

I would not recommend this barber to anyone. Went there a month back and got my haircut by the lady working there. Felt very uncomfortable being new to this place (am a person of color), no conversations ever by the lady and didn't even show a mirror for the back haircut. They provide a straight edge razor shave on the neck and kept thinking if the razor was changed or not because I did not see the lady changing razor, fortunately did not have a cut. I found this barbershop after I walked into Goodfellas. Goodfellas was full. So right next door was Rocco and Sons. Loved the place for the old school charm. Richard the barber was fantastic. No loud music or playstation games going on. Although there were only two barbers they were not talking on their cellphones while barbering. Definitely my new barbershop. read more

Went in today after a brief phone call to them this morning, was told there was a "6 second wait" haha, loved the candor! I was also told this establishment was Cash Only so be prepared before you go! When I got there I was immediately taken and given a FANTASTIC haircut by Henry! I usually am worried that new barber shops will not know what I like, being that I like the tight fade with the slicked to the side pompadour look but Henry got the classic cut exactly right! I LOVE the history and tradition of this place also! Ask the staff and they will tell you! Henry also gave me two lollipops for my four year old who we discussed briefly during my cut, a nice touch considering I mentioned him for maybe a second or two. This is the first time I've ever left a Yelp review, but also the first time I ever really wanted to. I went into Rocco & Sons last week to get my haircut there for the first time. Quite a few of my friends recommended I go there and see Richard, so I did. I'm not sure what most guys are like when it comes to getting their haircut, but I am very particular. After a short wait, I went to Richard's chair and said I wanted a drop bald fade, about a half inch off the top, my neck lined up, my cheeks/mustache left alone, etc. Basically I rattled off quite a few things because like I said I'm very picky. I'm not sure how long it took because we were talking most of the time, but I feel like I was in and out pretty quick. Richard did a phenominal job. Did everything I asked for exactly how I wanted. The fade was crisp and the neck line on my beard was perfect. Could not have asked for a better experience. Richard is a very attentive and nice guy. Will definitely be coming back soon! read more
