Says he had to replace the zipper fastener. DAH...I gave him $10.00, offsetting the deposit of $10.00 left. Also, when I had arrived earlier, he quoted a price of $35.00 to repair a zipper on a luggage. I had planned to bring it back on another day. FORGET IT. I went to Another shoe repair shop in the parking lot at Metuchen Train Station, was given a price of $10.00 to repair the luggage zipper by hand. This second shop, repurchased his shop a few years ago. He also has a shop on Main St. Woodbridge. This guy exudes INTEGRITY. The owner of Instant Shoe is a sleazy man, with no semblance of customer service. He comes across as a "street thug" and crooked. He's NASTY and MEAN. STAY AWAY.

In my room lay a leather wristlet which remained unused for a year because I prefer a shoulder strap, but then I recently thought to bring it to Ace since I've seen luggage being repaired at the shop. I noticed the leather tassel decoration on the wristlet and advised the owner that he could manipulate the extra leather decoration to fashion into a longer strap. After examining the wristlet and listening to my suggestions, the owner was able to provide a solution. The finished product has enabled me to finally make use of the gift given to me awhile ago. I was a bit hesitant to leave designer items but everything came out perfect - just as expected! I found this place while searching online for a tailor to repair a tear in my coat. The reviews…read moreseemed decent, so I felt comfortable bringing in three items for dry cleaning, including a $400 coat that needed a small repair. Unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing. The seamstress was not there when I dropped of the coat, they said that she will look and see if she can fix it and let me know by phone. I then find out that she "fixed" my coat without consulting me first, claiming the repair was necessary for the dry cleaning process. In doing so, she actually made the tear worse and ended up ruining the coat. When I tried to address the issue with the staff, the situation only got worse. The employees became defensive, rude, and belligerent. The interaction escalated to the point where I felt uncomfortable and unsafe in the store, as two male associates were behaving aggressively. I haven't even evaluated the quality of the dry cleaning yet, but at this point it's hard to say the service was worth the cost of a ruined $400 coat and the unpleasant treatment I received. It's especially disappointing because I had hoped I'd found a reliable dry cleaning and tailoring service close to home.
