Over the past few months it changed name to 'Manly Coffee Guild' and we decided to give it a go. The cafe primarily focuses on coffee and other beverages, however pre-prepared sandwiches/croissants and cakes are also sold there. The service is generally quite efficient and there is a good atmosphere inside with a friendly atmosphere. I particularly like the music they play in-store. Recently it's been a lot of Beatles and Billy Joel and older style tunes. There's some comfy couches and magazines and papers if you want to spend a while there. Coffee is really good and I would recommend for those who don't like their coffee overly milky. It is strong without having a bitter/burnt flavour, and not too watery or creamy. It's probably my favourite place in Manly for a skinny latte. There are also outside seats available, which I would prefer during the warmer months as it's quite hot inside the cafe.

The in-house roastery provides great coffee (plenty of options for coffee snobs from Melbourne) and you can buy beans and other coffee paraphenalia to take home. The food is excellent and the portions are generous and reasonably priced. We tried the hot smoked salmon and the nicoise salad and both were delicious. I will be back.

The two dishes we had were really fantastic and the coffee was as described in other reviews. Here's the best part. I got up to chase my daughter as she was running away from the table. While I was away a bird attack the plate of food they had just brought out. I went inside and just ordered/paid for another replacement dish but didn't mention the bird fiasco. When the server brought the new dish, he asked why I had the other plate of food sitting there. Explained the situation - two minutes later he came back with cash and refunded my meal! This doesn't happen in Sydney! It was an awesome and unexpected surprise. Point is - clearly these guys care about their customers. Highly recommend you make your way over and enjoy a great breakfast experience. AND WATCH OUT FOR THE BIRDS.

We arrived at 11:15am and there were 4 parties waiting, which we expected as it was late and well they've been getting some publicity on Instagram. We ordered coffee and waited. After 30 mins we got a table. It took us another 10-15 mins before our order was taken. One of the guys had to remind the hostess to take our order. Then it took another 30-40 mins for our food to arrive. To be fair the hostess did come to our table to tell us our food is next. She looked frazzled. So we could tell she was stressed. When our order arrived, one of them was wrong. So it took another 5-10 mins for the correct order to arrive. When the food came, they were a total vision with presentation. Elderflower, popping colours, really pretty. They look like they belong in a fine dining restaurant. Not a Caprese was really fresh, savoury, and yummy. I wish there was more than1 slice of rye bread. The French toast was really good. Not too sweet. Cake like. I'd love to have more. So all in all, amazing presentation, good food, but long wait. Hopefully it's just a kink while they work out their service as a new cafe.
