He didn't greet me neither did she until I walked to the front of the house stand. She got up from her crouch position and said can I help you? I was surprised to see what she was wearing, an oversized hoodie with some type of logo on it, which was not an appropriate thing to wear, and it did not match the other employee that were more crisp. I said dining for one and grabbed a menu and slid it across the host stand out of pure laziness. She slumped her way over with the menu hanging on her left side and sat me at a table. Wow what a lousy first impression for a restaurant that I was so excited to visit. A server came over gave me a menu and brought me water. Disappointed to see that the menu was completely different from the menu that I saw online. No unique dishes and the variety was not great. However, I was there and felt I'd give it a chance. A server that was at the bar entering tickets or something, kept looking over at my table, but no one ever acknowledged me after I was seated. I waited for about 10 minutes until someone realized I need assistance. The server finally came over. He was polite to check my order served my meal left me to be on my own to check on me one time, but it certainly wasn't a two minute check when he should to see if my meal was to my satisfaction. My plates were not cleared and I had to ask for the check.. the food was OK. I had the salmon. Nothing spectacular. risotto was uneventful. Got my check and left. No goodbye, no thank you for coming in no stand out service. As a restaurant professional in California, I can't figure out if it's just a Texas thing or they rate everything high or this restaurant truly is deserving of its accolades..

It was busy at the time I entered (10:15 am on a Wednesday) but I was seated immediately. My server Ivan was excellent and brought me coffee and my food order quickly. I ordered the "El Gringo" which was delicious (photo attached). Without asking , it came with two kinds of salsa (red and green). Red was spicy made with habaneros. Pancakes were great and Ivan even asked me if I wanted strawberry or blueberry topping on them. Of course I took the strawberries which put the pancakes over the top. Eggs, bacon and hash browns were delicious. I always enjoy supporting local restaurants and this place was loud, festive and enjoyable. There's always something about Chicken going well with waffles that somehow works, but thankfully it does. Wife got the El Gringo plate and she thoroughly enjoyed it too.
