Just like every business in laredo it starts off badass then goes to chit. At first a few years ago the place rocked. Went there last Friday night about 9:30 in the p.m. and it was exactly what a Friday night would have been like if the Germans had won the war. Me, my wife, my Bro and BFF were the youngest in the entire place and Im Gen X! The live music was great but the sound and acoustics can be used as a torture method to extract information. I used to love the chicken rockefeller but this time, the cook must have been thinking about that guy again, because the plate was cold and terrible. Oh well they cant all be Clementines Kitchen on Sanbe at the pan american courts. I chit you not.... You need to eat at Clementines!!! read more

My first time there. It was a really nice place but I expected more from their quality of food. I had the tuna burger and it was a complete fail. The burger was cold all the way around. The bun was toasted but cold. The tuna was of a well serving size but it was cold. I think it went from the freezer to the frying pan. I didn't send it back only because it took about 40 minutes to get hour food. My wife had the mini burgers and those were okay. If you want a burger stick to the beef burger. Two stars only because of my cold food. I would go back because it's such a nice place. Was this the fault of the kitchen or the server ? Don't know and don't care. It is what it is. read more

A great locally owned restaurant. Top notch food and friendly service. They offer a relaxing atmosphere in spite of the TV screens and sports bar appearance inside. We were able to have a nice conversation. I don't know how it is at night but for lunch it was great. Prices are moderate. Everything was very clean including the restrooms. The iced tea is not fresh brewed. It was from a concentrate. :-( But I guess most don't do iced tea here. That was the only thing I did not like. Everything else was awesome. read more

This review is for the new, second location of Cosmo Bar and Grill. This review is for lunch for two at the bar on a Saturday afternoon. location The new restaurant is at 7518 McPherson Road. Location is to the southwest of the intersection of Del Mar and McPherson. The restaurant sits back from the road and could be tough to see, if you're not watching for it. service Ian took care of us at the bar. He and the bar backs seemed to be busy stocking lots of beer in the bar coolers. That said, he did take our order and get us our bill. bar For Laredo, Cosmo has a good selection of draft beer. They had Dogfish Head IPA on tap! $9.50 for 22 oz. or $7.50 for a pint. The bar stocks some very high-end booze. We saw Macallan 25 and Johnny Walker Blue. food My wife ordered grilled chicken and selected spinach and rice as her sides. It was at this point that we noticed there is a grill station inside the horseshoe of the bar. The line cook had great attention to detail and my wife's meal was excellent. Special mention for the sides, both were excellent. I ordered the prime rib sandwich and it was equally good. In addition, the food is very affordable. My wife's lunch was ten bucks and came with a drink. The food runner who brought our meals was also a server and he was very knowledgeable and helpful. details Plenty of surface lot parking around the restaurant. There is some sort of smaller, VIP and handicapped parking lot in front. Interestingly enough, there was a parking lot attendant and a security guard at the door at 2pm on a Saturday. The inside is airy, bright and clean. Very different from the other Cosmo location, which has lower ceilings and can be dark. There is a serious DJ set-up to the left as you come in the door, could be busy in the evenings? Lots of seating around the bar. read more

My wife and I have been to many restaurants in Laredo and out of Laredo, the food and the service at Cosmo's was exceptional. The rack of lamb, without question, was the best RACK of LAMB that I ever had. Tasty, delicious and perfectly cooked. I highly recommend Cosmo's, and if you are a lamb fan, get the rack, which comes with 9 succulent chops. The ambiance was amazing and of course, the hostess and our server were very friendly and hospitable!! Cosmo's was overall an amazing restaurant for our date night! read more

Think of your last time at Cosmo's in the old place - classy after work crowd, attentive service, smiles, great food! Alright, now reverse all that, and there's the new Cosmo's. I've gotten more friendly service from a homeless person in the rain before. If you're not a regular, expect to be treated like they already expect to never see you again. If you sit and are waiting for the bartender for 10 Minutes and he walks up to you then a regular sits next to you, welp, you're in the back of the line again. And again. And again. Food? Cold. Beer? Flat and skunky. Service? There were more servers than salesmen at Conn's, but at least the Conn's folks fight for my business. This place must be a front for something because they don't give a flying shit about you. I also ordered happy hour drinks up until 10 Minutes until the end of happy hour...and got charged regular price ($2-3 extra...per drink). My tip to the bartender should have been "find something you're good at, cuz it ain't this" but there wasn't enough room to write that. I can't express how disappointed I am in the new Cosmo's. I used to come here every time I traveled into town. Even brought many customers to the old one. Now it's all greasy old dudes who want to yell at the bartender to call in "hot, young women". Used to love this place, thought it was classy. Owner walked in with his small dog thru the back kitchen into the restaurant. While he was conducting business, dog defecated in main restaurant area near bar. Customer called him out and owner yelled at him that he would be banned if he ever accused his dog of doing such a thing. Unsanitary! Animals do not belong in the cooking kitchen space. Change is not always a good thing. I've been dining and drinking at Cosmos since 2005. Back when their menu was mostly sandwiches and pizzas...yes, long ago. The food, service and atmosphere at their old location was top notch. In fact, it was once THE PLACE to be on the weekend in Laredo. Now...not so much. The new location? Where shall I begin...everyone I speak to says the say thing. Much smaller, no separate dining areas, no privacy, horrible outdoor space where the only view is staring at brick walls all around you and the backside of other businesses. Due to their lackluster new space I stopped going back about a year ago but when my husband and I went for valentine's dinner in 2019 we had a wonderful experience so we figured we'd go again this year. BIG MISTAKE. It was a four course meal but they ran out of ingredients for the salad so all we got was lettuce. Mine had no dressing so my husband poured some from his plate onto mine. My hubby's soup was cold. Can't complain about mine because it was the best part of my meal. My $65 filet with crab? Well, they didn't have the filet so I got a flavorless ribeye with a side of corn on the cob, mashed potatoes, and 3 burnt pieces of asparagus. I'm a carnivore but I didn't even eat half of that disappointment. Once it was time for dessert, I figured we would have options like last year. Nope! Just strawberry cheesecake that I'm pretty sure came from HEB. Combine all of that with loud, obnoxious drunks shouting obscenities at the bar. That was it for us. Next year it will be San Telmo, Border Foundry...anywhere but Cosmos. NEVER AGAIN! read more
