Story time began promptly with Mary the librarian and might I say she was animated and full of life. The class was packed with a bunch of babies/toddlers/running around at least (15). I honestly lost count of the children but my daughter and I had a blast. I was wishing the class wasn't over just yet... Go to the Hackensack Public Library....

There is a large quiet section with large cubbies & other areas which I have yet to explore. The lower level has a large selection of CD's & DVD's. Going to the restroom felt a bit ominous because the lower level is usually less populated & the bathrooms are secluded. I would definitely be back here for quiet study or for a change of scenery from my local library. The staff have not been too friendly or welcoming but I did not interact more with them besides exchanging a simple "hello" or "goodbye."

A large selection of books around each nook and cranny, and a cafe too…read more This multi level library is a bit dated looking, but beneath that, it's a big space with dedicated areas for children, fiction, nonfiction, etc. They have quite a few new book recommendations on display which is helpful for browsing. There's a lot of seating throughout and you should be able to find a quiet spot. They have the newer self checkout kiosks now so you don't have to chit chat if that's not your thing. The librarians do seem friendly though. The cafe isn't open past 6 on any day but it seems to have sandwiches, soups and baked goods; there are a few tables to sit as well. Parking lot is large and shared with the municipal building. An easy walk into town for food and shopping.

We were pleasantly surprised to see a large audience gather that day at a library. Also, the room where the performance took place was really nice and the sound was good there - impressive for a library. I looked at their website a few days prior to the performance and saw that there's a lot of great programming at PPL. Paramus has a really nice public library - what a great resource for the community!

My kids enjoy climbing in there with a book. The adult section is nice too. It's a beautiful round space with lots of sunlight and work / reading spaces. I haven't tried their classes yet, but must say I am intrigued by the French conversation classes and the knitting club. This library is a beautiful, well light community space for people to come and share a love for reading. I take my kids there often so they can learn to love books and reading as well and there are plenty of resources for them to do so.

Some events are for certain age groups/ populations, like seniors, teens, parents. Etc, while others are open to the general public. Activities range from practice career guidance to social events like movie screenings and even wine tasting. Every time I come to the library, the staff at the front desk is always very friendly and helpful. The librarian is also knowledgeable and able to point me In the right direction whenever I have a specific topic or title I'm looking for. I'm a big fan of the inter-library book exchange. You're able to place a request online for almost any book and pick it up at the Fort Lee branch when it becomes available. It's super convenient. Another great feature of this library is their partnership with museums in nyc. As a former NYC resident i was worried about missing out on some of the perks of being an NYC resident, but I found out that you actually get free access to to several museums with your Fort Lee Library card and you can request passes for a few guests as well. Overall, this library isn't the largestor necessarily the most modern, but it has mostly everything you could need or want from a local library. It's certainly nicer than my local library growing up and the service is always friendly. 4.5 stars
