Roger gave us a very informative and interesting free tour of the distillery. It is not far from Lexington. We enjoyed the country drive from Chapin. It is definitely worth your time to come visit. They do tours and tastings and we arrived just in time to take the tour. The distiller gave lots of information but made sure to explain the process in a way that those of us who just enjoy the drinking part can understand. The tasting area is small but we were the only ones there so that was nice. The lady who did the tasting was very nice and did a good job explaining the differences between the products. If you've ever watched the moonshiners on the discovery channel, you've heard of Tim Smith. They carry his products as well. For the tasting, you get 5 they pick (Tim smith bourbon, rye bourbon( snarly yow), 314, peach, and salted Carmel, They let you pick the 6th. I had the apple, husband had the peanut butter. Both were delicious, and you tasted just as described! We also purchased the Old Fashioned pre-made they offer as well as the salted Carmel whiskey! We went today and the tour was super, Janette is brilliant and a great host - we also met the genius behind the mixology, namely Renato, and he was so interesting and a genius at this craft. The tasting was unreal. The various liqueurs that they craft exceeded my expectations by 100X and you get to taste each one. We bought 8 bottles and plan on adding this to our Greenville tour every time guests are visiting. A hidden gem in The Greenville area! So great!
