Rock Creek Farms is a great farm for the family and people of all ages. The pumpkin patch is massive and it requires a car to drive around to the entire farm. There are plenty of events and different games here too. The market area has lots of gords and pumpkins for sale. There is a small gathering of different animals, cows, bulls, turkeys, sheep, goats, and a few others. There are some fund games for kids, slides, carnival games and so much more. The price is not terrible but in Tuesday or Wednesday it's free and then they charge for pumpkins. The employees we say were help but they're weren't too many. The proximity to Broomfield makes this place a good choice. read more

This place was so sweet! Lots of pumpkins to choose from on a huge lot of land. You can drive around but then there is also a corn maze. They also had an area where you can buy snacks and treats like pumpkin bread my favorite. I get the chocolate one and one with walnuts. There's an area for children to play and so much to do. It's such a beautiful space and great for children and adults ! It's definitely worth the price and the people working here are truly a delight! read more

Rock Creek Farm is a great place for two reasons: first, as many reviewers say, they have a great big pumpkin patch (actually multiple patches-like the whole farm!) Each October, the place comes alive and draws huge crowds for various fall activities. Usually they'll get a corn maze going, tons of picking, and other fun things for kids. The my have many acres of pumpkins, you're sure to get one here. Staff is friendly and helpful, but parking and crowds can be tough. They have an online reservation system and tickets were $6 per adult. The other great thing, is they keep access to the Coal Creek bike path through the property, and never gave me trouble. They have some nice fields and generally add to the rural character of that area of town. Just parking at Stearns Lake and walking east, you can have a very scenic walk along the farm. read more

We had a great time at this pumpkin patch. Entry into the patch and kids play area is free this year (2023). Self-picked pumpkins are $7 each. It's the closest patch to our house and was open Tuesdays and Wednesdays when others in this are were closed. My kids (1, 4, and 7) all had an amazing time playing in the kids area. There were two pumpkin shaped bounce houses, a corn kernel "sand" box, huge bales of hay and great painted wooden photo ops. The older kids liked jumping from bale to bale and played tag and hide and seek. Would recommend. They accept cards to pay for your pumpkins and also offer squash, baked goods and more for sale. Fun spot with the ability to actually enter the fields, so an actual pumpkin patch experience unlike many of the other Front Range experiences. They used to only charge for the pumpkins. Now, it's $7/person plus $7 a pumpkin. The "kids area" is nothing to write home about, so not sure why they charge a "cover" fee. 4 mazes to choose from. 0.4 miles, 1.1 miles, 2.3(?) miles and 4 miles. These seem to be based on if you take several or all of the detours, not the fastest route. Get the map and activities card. We didn't, but it was still fun. The corn is about 4 feet high; easy to see over, but we still couldn't easily decide which route to take. Plenty of other activities for families. We were two adults, and we had a good time. Afterwards, they want you to go to the big tent with the huge line to pay for a pumpkin or get a card saying you didn't get one. An actual pumpkin patch farm where you are allowed to roam around and pick off any pumpkin you'd like to bring home. The patch is huge and there's plenty of pumpkins to choose from As for the rest of the farm - it's mostly catered towards children it seems. You have to pay $6 or $7 per person to even enter the farm. And then you follow the signs to drive all the way to the back of the farm to the pumpkin patch. To exit the farm, you need to drive all the way around to the front. There's no clear signage but you're supposed to pay for your pumpkins at this stand near the exit. Then they give you an exit ticket that will be collected by someone by the exit. If you don't get an exit ticket, they make you drive all the way back around the farm to get to the stand again. read more

A great fall family outing! Even with the record early hard freeze we found pumpkins in the patch. The corn maze(s) will entertain guests of all ages 7 abilities. If that's not enough there are more activities on the way out for kiddos. This will be our go to pumpkin patch and corn maze from now on. If you go it's cash only! This is our fourth year here picking pumpkins. The field is endless and there are plenty to go around. There is plenty of parking too. The road is one way so pay attention. There are signs everywhere so it shouldn't be an issue. The roads are dirt so look out for ruts. $8 for one pumpkin regardless of size. I'm sure they have all been frozen at some point but really you can't blame the farm for weather. Reasons for 4 stars instead of 5: I am disappointed the bounce houses are not up like in past years and it would be nice to see them again. Most of the products sold are not locally made either. Although the pumpkins are cheap, the corn maze is $7 for children and 10$ for 12 and up. They used to take cards to the best of my recollection and now it's a $20 minimum or ATM's with a high usage fee. So remember to grab cash before you go. read more

Our family enjoyed our morning at the pumpkin patch. After reading reviews & Facebook comments, we decided to arrive right at opening. We drove right out to a patch and began our quest to find the perfect pumpkins! All shapes and sizes as far as the eye can see with a beautiful backdrop of the mountains. When we arrived, while there were directions in the box there weren't any plastic tools. After we reached a patch, we found a plastic knife on the ground which we used to cut our pumpkins. So you might want to bring a tool - even as simple as a plastic knife - to cut your pumpkin. After selecting our pumpkins, we followed the detailed signs to the corn maze. We visited all the mazes and found all 18 stations to complete our card. We were given a huge cookie as a bonus for completing the mazes. We headed out to pay for our pumpkins and check out the photo ops and animals. Having tweens & teens this didn't appeal to them as much as the patch and mazes. That said they have something for every age. I highly recommend getting there first thing in the morning if you're going on a weekend. read more

Good things first: Every year I've gone, it's extremely well organized and always busy. The staff is so friendly, and it's just a great pumpkin-picking spot. We got there day two of the season so that we had better pumpkin options and they did NOT disappoint. Our pumpkins are super healthy and MASSIVE Onto why I gave three stars... They now charge per person to just ENTER the patch. Last time I came here, you were able to drive in for free and paid per pumpkin you picked. It might make a little more sense to charge per car, or charge for those who wanted to do the corn maze, but no. They charged $6 per person in the car to enter the park. So we paid $24 to drive in, and then $7 per pumpkin. We didn't want to do the corn maze, and so, in the end, paid $38 for two pumpkins and 20 minutes of time. I'm extremely saddened that they would do that, as it used to be a really easy and affordable way to experience fall. read more

FALL! Ahhh this place makes me SO happy. When it comes to be fall here in Colorado I revert back to my younger days. I drove by Rock Creek Farm on my way to my Louisville office and noticed there were pumpkins for miles, 130 acres to be exact! At Rock Creek Farm, you drive in on these little dirt roads and can pull off anywhere you see pumpkins to find your perfect one, two or even five pumpkins. When you arrive, they give you a knife which they call your "saw" because most of their pumpkins are still on the vine. The best part about Rock Creek is there are so many acres of pumpkins you really can find your special one that you like. Rock Creek is right off of 470/Northwest Parkway in Broomfield. They offer the large acreage of pumpkins like I've mentioned, a corn maze (you have to pay), petting zoo and little booths with smaller items like gourds and corn as well as food and drinks. They have pumpkin flavored treats to really seal the deal. Before you leave, you have to check out at a booth to pay for your pumpkins. They will give you a yellow slip that allows you to exit. The staff here is very helpful and friendly. We went this Saturday in 40 degree weather with 40mph winds and the staff acted like nothing was wrong. They do take credit cards and cash, I saw there was a previous review where they don't accept cards and that is wrong. The Farm even has signs that say they take cards! This pumpkin patch knows what they doing, even having local police handle traffic duties on the busy weekends leading up to Halloween. I like that you can drive out to pick the pumpkins you want within their fields, even cutting them off the stalk yourself (very cool and impressive for kids!!!). It does get VERY busy on the weekend afternoons and the parking lots are very filled, so plan accordingly (I recommend a weekday afternoon, if you can swing it). As with all established patches, this one has merchandise for sale, as well as drinks, snacks, petting zoo, and games out for the kiddos. I also recall a hay bale maze a few years back (although not sure if they are still doing that this year???). I highly recommend this family run patch. Truly awesome fields surrounded by mountains with a never ending selection of perfect pumpkins. Road signs and where to go we're pretty confusing at first. However, when we went to the field on the left we drove by a field full of cages at the opening of prairie dog holes, many of which had trapped prairie dogs in them, screaming, in the relentless sun. It was disturbing to witness and ruined the entire trip. When I asked at the pay station, the lady said much of the land is owned by Boulder County and they don't know what they are doing, but this impacts their customers so they should take the time to find out. She mentioned that another customer had just asked, so hopefully they get some answers and stop this seemingly in humane treatment. Unless they are relocating, and even if so, it didn't appear that anyone was checking the traps and removing the prairie dogs. They also have cows in a very small pen by the pay station that have no shade what so ever, are covered in poop, with hundreds of flies on them, and their small enclosure is doused in poop and pee where ever they step. They also had sheep and goats, all of which were lethargic and laying down with a small strip of shade. Loved the pumpkins and fields, but will probably not be back because the whole mood was ruined for my myself, my partner, and my mom, who all love animals, because of what we consider might be a lack of respect for animal welfare. read more

looooove this place!! If you are looking for a place to pick your pumpkins right off the vine in the field, look no further!! This brings me back to my days in Vermont! I have been pumpkin hunting here for about eight years now and it beats out most of the places in Denver and Boulder. HUMONGOUS pumpkins! The shears they supply are really sharp. My dog loves to run through the pumpkin patch here and help me pick some good ones out! Of course, he also loves to roll in the smooshed pumpkins in the patch. I always come home with way more than I need! I also load up on mini pumpkins, and gourds as they are 50 cents or a dollar. Their baked treats have expanded in the past several years, which are ok, but not the best, but will definitely be great for a craving of fall. The only thing I wish they had here was some apple cider. I miss those East Coast cider farms. Have fun in the patch! read more

My husband and I have been coming here for at least the past 5 years or so. This year the pumpkins were NOT in great shape. I would see one that looked perfect and would walk over only to find that is was soft, brown, and misshapen on the other side. After 30 minutes or so we did manage to find 2 pumpkins that we could work with, they were beautifully bright orange and although one side of each of them was ugly, it wasn't soft. The pumpkins in the crates are definitely the better looking, non-rotted ones. So skip the patch if you don't want to do some serious hunting. This farm is dog friendly, so that's a major plus! Hopefully it won't be so wet next year and the pumpkins will be back on track. read more

First off, free admission on the farm. Other places I looked into charge an entrance fee. Second, pumpkins start at $8 for whatever size, and there are some LARGE pumpkins for picking, that is if one is willing to hall that sucker to the car! The more pumpkins purchased the cheaper the price. The BF and I didn't know what to expect on the farm but for a Saturday fun day it was well worth it. The crowd of cars entering the farm was huge for a late October, but once on the farm we pulled off at near by pumpkin patches with smaller pumpkins just to check them out before heading to the other patches. The farm was impressive with its many acres of just sheer pumpkins after pumpkins. Signs are well posted to direct you especially to the Corn Maze, Children's play area and more pumpkin patches. The corn maze has a fee of $9 per person. A map of the maze is provided with activities for the kids to find marked locations, and once at the location the chance to hole punch the completed task. Lots of goody treats were also sold on the farm: baked pumpkin bread, loafs, and candied apples. The BF and I got a really nice big pumpkin, which will be carved soon. It was both our first pumpkin patch visit and definitely not our last. read more

This was my third year visiting this pumpkin patch. I've always made it a family tradition going to a pumpkin patch to get our pumpkins. I gotta tell you... this place is AWESOME!!! I've never been to a pumpkin patch that compares to this! When I first went in 2008, I took the family the weekend before Halloween. Big mistake! There was a line of cars easily one mile long coming from both directions. Once I finally got in, I was surprised how huge this place was. There's acres and acres of fields, most of the people go to the first field or two they see. The last couple of fields were near empty of people. With that many people there, it was like I had a whole farm to myself. In 2009, there was a freeze and the pumpkins were ruined when I got there. Shame, but that's mother nature not their fault. This year, the weather was great again. The pumpkins look great. The play area they set up is like a small county fair. Farm animals, bouncers, hay maze for the kids, a couple of stands. I love this place and I'll continue to come here every year. The pumpkins are a dollar or two more than the grocery store, but the grocery store isn't a day event. We always go and take pictures, they always have the best pumpkins to choose from, and our kids love the petting zoo. We always get the best family photos here especially of the children. The mountains scenes in the background and the big huge pumpkin patches is such a Colorado experience. This is a great place to take the kids and let them pick their own pumpkin, enjoy a straw maze and pick up some pumpkin bread. I highly suggest this location for all ages. What a fun place to pick pumpkins! And when I say pick, I mean pick. When you finally get into the farm they hand you a flyer and a knife explaining how they do things differently than other places. You drive though the farm and various patches, select and cut your pumpkin(s) off the vine, drive to the exit and pay for your pumpkins and any other goodies you may want. They also have a petting farm, mazes and other kids' activities and hay rides. I will definitely return next year. However I will go a little earlier in the month for better selection as well as first thing in the day to hopefully avoid the major lines of cars. My daughter and I moved here from FL. in 2005 where a "pumpkin patch" was a bunch of already picked pumpkins sitting in an area of the grass in front of the grocery store or church. I found this place in 2007 and we've made it our Fall tradition to go back every year, even though its about a 45 minute drive from home and I hate driving anywhere that far! LOL Its so cool to be able to walk through the vast amount of pumpkins and pick out the one you want to cut off its vine! Big pumpkins, small pumpkins, round pumpkins, oval pumpkins....pumpkins pumpkins!!! You definitely can't beat the price. I think we brought home 4 big pumpkins for $20!! You can buy the little gourds, indian corn and other stuff at the stand where they also sell pumpkin bread and other goodies. While the pumpkin bread isn't to die for, its been our new tradition to buy a loaf each year now. They also have a small area of farm animals to see, an area where they have hay stacked for picture taking, a small hay maze for the little ones and..... There is also a corn maze at this place!!! The first year we visited we had no idea what the heck to expect and we walked in with flip flops...uh...wrong!! LOL. The following year we went prepared and while I could have gone through this thing for hours, my kid was tired after about a half hour!! I can't wait until the end of September when it re-opens! Great pumpkin patch for little ones! We came here last weekend, with my two and four-year-old. I love how you can pick your own pumpkin and a huge pumpkin patch. The prices are reasonable too. The bounce house, the hay maze, and the animals were all very fun for my littles. I think this is a great place for younger children. Everyone working there was very nice and I loved how they had the flow of traffic directed throughout the whole farm so it didn't seem super crowded and it was stress-free. My first impression of Rock Creek Farm was "Oh, no. What did I get myself into? " I saw the orange fields from Hwy 287 which is quite impressive. Then I saw the lines of cars, and then the state patrol directing traffic. No way could this place live up to the hype. The first five minute of the pumpkin adventure are devoted to driving, the rest is just FUN! Once you are in the fields there are hundreds of thousands of pumpkins to choose from and the farm is so huge the crowds disperse and you are almost alone with your own party. Whatever you are looking for, it is there; classic jack-o-lantern pumpkins, silly-shaped pumpkins, orange, yellow, green. Each has its own little personality that has to be discovered. I spent the better part of two hours looking for the right pumpkin. As it turned out the best pumpkin was a gathering of seven! One little tip: Don't park at the first spot you come across. Keep driving! The further you get into the farm the thinner the crowds and the greater selection of pumpkins. The employees are incredibly friendly! Special thanks to the cashier.
