My husband is from Recife and came here for a work event when it was very new a few years ago. He would tell me stories about how good the food and atmosphere was from here. He was not lying. As an American, I have come to the understanding we do not cook meat well, and when you have the ability to go to a very nice steakhouse with someone who knows how meat should be cooked, it is certainly a life experience. Even though I've never been to an Outback, I think the decoration is rather Spartan here (compared to the photos I've seen of their other locations). This one is located inside the RioMar Shopping Mall, which is a very nice mall. So, how was the Bloomin' Onion, you ask? Greasy...very greasy. The good thing was that we visited at Happy Hour (sorry, "Billabong Hour"), so drinks were half-price. I might try their steak or a burger another time, but this visit was underwhelming.
